"Why is it always me stopping you?"

You sat in between the two brothers during the ride. The drive went well into the night. Mephisto seemed to of kept himself busy by himself and Yukio was reading a book. Rin looked very unsettled and was kind of fidgety.

"For pete's sake," he murmured. You turned your head.

"What's the matter?" You asked him. He seemed to of realized what he said.

"Oh, nothing..." He quickly said, "Hey, where were you all morning, anyway?" He aimed that question at Yukio. You turned your head around to the younger brother.

"Visiting dad's grave. Did you go yourself, Rin?" He inquired.

"No..."

"Oh, you're hopeless." He went back to reading his book. Even though he seemed passive, you still could tell there was an undertone to it. What it was, you have no idea.

"Now then, we shall soon be arriving at the center of True Cross Academy Town," Mephisto spoke for the first time in a while. You looked out of the window and gaped.

"Welcome to True Cross Academy!"

"Holy crap!" Rin gasped.

"Every learning facility under the sun can be found right here in Academy Town," Mephisto added on, "Please study to your heart's content."

"That's a huge bitch," you murmured.

~
The car pulled up to the main entrance to True Cross.

"Now then, Rin, Y/n, please change into your uniform."

"Oh come on, now you're telling me?"
You went to the other side of the limo and began to strip. Yukio respectively looked away, but Rin had a... harder time. You looked at the skirt given to you.

"... the fuck." With a sigh, you put it on anyways. Then you put on your top and wrapped the tie around your neck, knotting it with ease. You turned and saw Rin also just putting on his tie. His neck, ears, and face looked red. You knew he watched, but ultimately, you didn't care.

"You're quite adept at knotting your tie, I see," Mephisto said to him. Your brow twitched. Yeah, I taught him, dammit.

"Hey, Yukio. Pretty mind-blowing, huh?" Rin spoke up, "A screw up like me getting into True Cross Academy, just like you." Yukio didn't seem to be paying attention very much.

"Oh, sorry."
Your eyes narrowed.

"I'm kinda nervous right now..."
Yukio? Nervous? Absolutely no way in hell.

~
You sat in a large auditorium for the entrance ceremony. Hundreds of first-year students sat all around you.

"First-year representative, Yukio Okumura!"

"Yes sir!" Yukio stood up from in front of you. Rin's shock was palpable to you. It didn't shock you that much.

"That means he got the top scores in the entrance exam, right? Wow!" The girl in the front row said.

"And have you noticed? He's kinda hot too!"
Your eyes twitched at the whispering girls, but after a second, you ignored them and focused on Yukio who now stood on the stage.

"Not only is it a thrill, but also a sobering experience, to be able to enroll at the school I've long admired. I hereby pledge we shall work diligently from this day on, so as to meet the high standards of True Cross Academy. First-year representative, Yukio Okumura."
The whole crowd clapped and some even cheered. You clapped with a huge smile, genuinely supportive and proud of who he's become. You looked over and noticed Rin still gaping. You nudged his side and he seemed to of snapped out of it. He started clapping, but it seemed more like an automatic response. You sighed and rubbed your forward. This is going to be an interesting year.

~
After the entrance ceremony ended, everyone was now jammed outside in the courtyard.

"Incoming first-years!" A voice yelled, "I will now conduct a tour of the campus, so please follow me." As always, you were glued to Rin's side. Yukio wasn't near you. In fact, he was being pestered by the same two girls who sat in front of you at the ceremony. Even through all of the chattering, you could hear them crystal clear.

"Which class are you in, Yukio?"

"Th-the Special Advanced Class..." He seemed really awkward around them.

"Oh, I should've known!"

"You're really tall, aren't you?"
An audible growl left your throat unintentionally, drawing Rin's attention.

"Woah... you okay?" He asked, putting a hand on your shoulder. You snapped your head around in confusion, only realizing what you did.

"Oh, shit... yeah, I'm good, sorry."

~
You and Rin were in the Entrance Hall of the school, riding up the escalators. You just silently admired the interior design and Rin was moving all around.

"What the hell? This is a school?"
A group of girls behind you two stared at him in surprise.

"True Cross makes a lot of money, so obviously they're going to make the school huge," you said to him.

"It's huge! Everything is huge!"
You smiled at his childish reaction, but the girls were giving him an odd stare. Your eyes locked onto theirs. You got a problem? The three quickly looked away.

In the Dining Hall, Rin was spinning around like a drunk ballerina, admiring the light fixtures.

"Woah... check out those chandeliers!"
Everyone in the vicinity was staring at him.

"This is more like a fancy-schmancy restaurant or something!"

"This is high class, Rin. Obviously they're going to be a little more lavish," you said gently.

"It's cool! Everything is so cool!"
You smiled at him, electing to ignore the stares.

When you two entered a classroom, he took a walk through it to a seat and desk.

"Huge, man!"
You followed behind him silently.

"Geez, can they make this freakin' classroom and bigger?" He pulled out the seat and sat in it. "Even the desks are way bigger than the ones at the monastery! Man..."
You leaned on the desk and crossed your arms. Then the whispers hit you.

"What's the deal with that guy, anyway?"
"What's someone like that doing at this school?"

You glared at the back of the one girl's skull, e/c eyes slowly turning white.

When she felt your stare, she turned her head. All at once, a malevolent force rushed through her. Your white eyes hued down to your regular color. The girl's legs were trembling. Her friends noticed.

"Hey, what's wrong?"
Slowly, she turned her head away from you.

"I... I don't think we should be talking about this, anymore..." She replied quietly. You stared at the back of her head, eyes now turning a deep red. Leave this classroom.

Wordlessly, she walked away from the group, leaving them confused.

"What the heck just happened?" Rin asked from behind you. You shrugged from in front of him.

"Beats me. Maybe she was overcome with nervousness."

"Hm... maybe..."
When the conversation died down, your expression changed into a dark glare. Like hell I'd let you talk shit about him.

Ja ne!
