You sighed and walked down the hallway of the dorm. You knew Rin went to the store to buy Yukio some mineral water--but you also knew he would forget. The weather was extremely hot that day, so Rin was probably more focused on cooling down. So you got mineral water yourself. You got to their door and knocked before opening.

"Excuse me," you said.

"Oh, hey Y/n," Rin greeted, spinning around in his chair.

"Good afternoon, Y/n," Yukio followed suit. You lightly hit him on the back of his head.

"Don't be so stiff," you said, shoving the bottle of mineral water in front of him. He blinked at it.

"You got me it?" He asked, slowly taking it from your hand.

"Well yeah," you replied, "I knew Rin would forget, so I went and got it myself."

"HEY! IT'S NOT MY FAULT!" Rin yelled.

"Thank you, Y/n," Yukio said. You nodded.

"Of course," you replied. You reached over to Rin and grabbed one of his Gori-gori-kun popsicles.

"Hey! That's mine!" Rin exclaimed, but he didn't do anything to try and stop you.

"And? You forgot Yukio's water," you replied, ripping open the bag. "Consider this your punishment." You popped it into your mouth. Rin sank into his seat.

"You're so mean, Y/n..." He muttered. You smiled through eating.

"Of course I am," you replied proudly, "Someone's gotta keep you in line."

You sat in your dorm room trying to study, but the commotion from the brothers next door drew your attention away from the papers. With a sigh, you pushed your chair away and walked over to your door, opening it and sticking your head out into the hallway. You walked over to their room and stayed outside for a few.

"Just cause you're a smartypants, don't get carried away cause Y/n's crushing on you!" You heard Rin yell. Your brow twitched. Why the hell is he bringing me up?

"Huh?" You heard Yukio ask. "Why are you bringing up Y/n all of a sudden? And anyway, Y/n's not crushing on me, and I'm not carried away!"

"Oh yes she is, Four Eyes! What, you can't see that, even with those glasses on?" Rin retorted. The conversation was getting on your nerves now. "You're a real moron, Four Eyes!"

"Moron?" You heard Yukio repeat. "Who are you to talk, when you can't even run an errand properly at your age? Y/n had to clean up after your mess."

"Geez... you're still moaning about that? Get over it!"

"It's the same as your fighting methods. You rely on sheer power because you have no knowledge or skills! Try using your head more!"

"What did you say, you damned Four eyes!"
You heard a slap and you instantly opened the door to their room. When you entered, you saw Yukio's glasses fly off his head, hit the ceiling, break, then proceed to fall back on top of Yukio's head. What in the fuck... Rin let out a few laughs.

"It's a miracle! A miracle just happened!" He continued to laugh. You looked at Yukio who scowled at him.

"It's not freakin' funny!"
Rin shut up and you whistled. It's always the quiet ones. Yukio's phone began to ring. He removed the broken glassed and picked up the phone.

"Yes, this is Okumura," he answered. "... right, I'm on my way right now."

"You going on a mission?" You asked him. Yukio looked at you for a moment before nodding.

"Yeah," he replied.

"Woah, a mission?" Rin's tail swung back and forth.

"It has nothing to do with you," Yukio replied, switching his tone. He pulled out his drawer, revealing multiple pairs of spare glasses and put a pair on. You smiled a bit. Of course...

"You brought home a black cat?" You asked, staring down at Kuro.

"His name is Kuro," Rin replied contently, "He was originally the Old Man's familiar." Rin had called you and asked to meet them both at the water front. You crouched down and looked at Kuro. Kuro looked up at you. He then reached out his paw and touched your face with it.

'Hello!'
You rose a brow at it.

"Hi," you replied quietly. Rin let out and exaggerated gasp from next to you.

"You can hear Kuro too?!"
You glanced up at him.

"Well yeah... I'm a demon too, Rin." You laughed.

"Oh yeah, ha ha!" He laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his head. A faint blush was on his cheeks.

'Oh! You and Rin are good friends!'
You looked down at Kuro and patted him on the head softly.

"Yeah we are," you replied, "Seems you've taken a liking to him too, Kuro."
You looked over at Yukio who was staring at you with a small smile on your face.

"Why are you smiling at me?"

"Eh? Oh, my apologizes..."
You stared at Yukio for a moment.

"You're weird."

"Coming from you."

The days had slowly grown hotter. Summer was only beginning. You were lying in your bed, trying to sleep through the hot weather.

"Y/N, GUESS WHAT?!" Rin came bursting through your door, startling you awake. "Izumo, Shima, and I are going to the ocean! Do you wanna come with?!" You rolled over onto your back and squinted up at the brother.

"No."

"Awe come on! Why not?! It could be fun!" Rin started shaking you back and forth. You let out a sigh before grabbing Rin's head and squeezing tightly. "OwW OW OW OW!!"

"I'm tired Rin," you said, "I'll go if y'all are getting eaten by a giant squid."

"Oh my fucking god." You watched a giant squid thrash around Rin and another little boy that somehow ended up in the fray. You sighed. You jumped over the railing and used your red fire to propel you forward. You popped out of the water next to the two boys.

"AHHHHH!!!!"

"Stop screaming, it's me."

"Y/n! You came!"

"Yeah. Apparently I can't leave you alone for more than a day without you running into trouble." Your eyes narrowed. "How convenient." You looked up at the squid.

"Are you gonna kill it?" Rin asked. You stared into the squid's eyes.

"... nah." You exhaled and slowly sank to the bottom of the water.

"EH?! Y/N?! OI, Y/N!"
