CHAPTER 16: Get ready, sweetie baby

NADIA's POV

I just stood there in surprise while looking at Ackier's face. I couldn't even utter a single word while he on the other hand was confidently meeting Lester's gaze. He had that signature smirk on his face but I could tell that there was a hidden danger in those tantalizing blue grey eyes of his.

"What are you doing here? As far as I know; you're not invited here in my party." Lester was trying his hardest to hide that his growing anger but he failed to do so.

Ackier scoffed. "Oh, I thought I was. In fact, you even sent me an invitation. Honestly, I wasn't planning on coming but my stubborn sweetie baby here insisted on attending the party so I decided to join the fun." I then felt his arm tighten around my waist. My goodness! Just the way he held me by the waist like that was full of possessiveness, clearly setting the boundaries.

Lester's eyebrows creased in confusion and then laughed. "What? I don't recall sending you a personal invitation. Why would I do that when I don't even know you personally?"

"Well, I must have been dreaming when I received this invitation from you." Ackier brought out the invitation that he was talking about and Lester looked at it with scowl. He looked more confused now than a while ago.

He took the invitation from Ackier and read what was written on it. Then, the look on his face changed from confusion to shocked.

"Y-You're Mr. Ackier Savela? The owner of this hotel and resort?" He asked in disbelief that he even stuttered. The corner of Ackier's lips twitched as he shrugged his shoulders.

"Well, the one and only." Lester looked like he already swallowed his tongue while staring at Ackier in disbelief while me on the other hand was just listening to them quietly. Even I was shocked because of what I've heard.

Ackier is really a rich man, owning a big hotel and resort like this. Well, you should've realized that when you saw his huge yacht.

Before we came here to the party, Lester called me up again and told me that after his formal party, there would be a pool party that would last until morning. He tried to convince me to stay for the night because he rented rooms for those who would stay until the party's over but I declined.

He sounded disappointed when I declined and I felt guilty. Because of that, I just agreed to stay for the pool party until 2 am. Now, I could tell that that would never happen anymore because of Ackier's presence.

"So, are we good now?" Ackier continued with a triumphant look on his face. Lester quietly returned the invitation to Ackier and was about to say something when someone spoke. It was a woman and if I remember what Tanya said a while ago; she's the host for tonight.

According to her, she's Janice Lee; one of Lester's friends and a famous events host.

"Lester, the program is about to begin now. I think you should go and take this lovely lady here to your table since you said that she would be your partner for tonight's party." She was saying that but I caught her openly ogling at Ackier flirtatiously. I could see that she was attracted to Ackier instantly.

An unpleasant feeling crept within me and I didn't like the feeling.

"Oh, pardon me. I didn't see you there, handsome. You are?" She deliberately made her voice seductive as she batted her eyelashes at Ackier.

"Ackier Savela. No one told me that an interesting girl like you would be here in this party. What's your name?" My eyebrows instantly knitted together upon hearing Ackier's reply. He was smiling at Janice flirtatiously and that ticked me off.

"I'm Janice Lee, Ackier. It's nice meeting you." I gritted my teeth. And she had the guts to call him with his first name right away! This girl was openly flirting with Ackier in front of me as if she wasn't seeing me. I began to lose my cool as my fists tightened.

She bit her lower lip as she held out her hand for a handshake but my body moved on its own before I could even stop it. I was the one who took her hand for a handshake which actually surprised her and that was when she finally looked at me.

"It's nice meeting you, Ms. Janice Lee. I'm Nadia Skyler Amouretti. Since the program is about to start, I think you should go back to your post while we on the other hand should go to our respective tables, right?" I said with a tight smile on my face.

The seductive smile that she was giving at Ackier disappeared. I let go of her hand as if I got burned or something.

"Oh, Nice meeting you too, Ms. Amouretti. I think you're right. The program is about to start and since you're Lester's partner, you can go with him to his table while Ackier here can come with me. I mean, I don't have an escort for tonight. It will be a waste to just let a handsome gentleman like him be alone during the party." My jaw clenched. This lady was officially beginning to piss me off.

I raised my chin defiantly and met her gaze bravely. "Oh, sorry to burst your bubble but don't expect too much from Ackier. He might be handsome but he already has someone. If I were you, I'll just go back to your job. I mean, you're here for Lester, right? Surely, he doesn't want you fishing men during his own birthday party."

I saw how her eyes squinted in anger. She opened her mouth, wanting to retaliate but couldn't utter even a single word. Looked like she didn't expect for me to say that to her. I smiled at her a little bit tauntingly as I wrapped my arm around Ackier's, silently telling her to back off.

I didn't know why but I felt like exploding seeing her flirting with Ackier. I felt like a jealous girlfriend and it was already late when I realized that.

"Let's go, Lester. If I were you, you shouldn't have any partner for tonight because some slutty females out there don't deserve your attention." She even emphasized the word 'slutty' as she threw me a sharp glance before pulling Lester by the hand and left us there.

I gritted my teeth. Oh, how I wanted to follow her and pull her hair because of practically calling me slutty but I held myself back because it wasn't worth it. I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of many people.

Then I glared at Ackier when I heard him snickering. He looked so pleased of what just happened.

"And what's funny?" I asked, pissed off. He cleared his throat and became serious.

"Nothing, sweetie baby. I just didn't expect to see you get jealous like that. I knew already that you're as territorial as me but seeing you act like that was surprising. I thought you were going to scratch that woman's face because of how pissed and jealous you were." He pulled me by the waist until our bodies were pressed together. He looked so happy. "Damn. You're giving me a 'hard time' right now." He whispered to me as he deliberately grazed his hardness against the V of my thighs.

The reaction of my body was automatic but I didn't give in. I could still remember what he said to Janice and I didn't like it.

I pushed him away which surprised him.

"What was that for?" He asked in disbelief. I sneered at him before brushing passed him and was about to leave him there when he managed to stop me by the hand.

"What's wrong, sweetie baby? Did I do something?" I raised an eyebrow at him as I crossed my arms across my chest.

"Really? You don't know what you did? Let me remind you. Didn't you say that Ms. Janice Lee was an interesting woman? Why don't you go to her then? It's okay with me. I don't care. You said that I was jealous of her? No way. She officially pissed me off that's why I did what I did.

"If you find her interesting, you can be her escort. She said that she doesn't have an escort and she's very willing to take you." His jaw dropped while staring at me in disbelief. Then, to my surprise, he laughed heartily and that added to the annoyance that I was feeling.

But instead of giving him any reason to laugh at me even more, I thought of something that would surely piss him off too.

"Enjoy your night with Ms. Lee and I'll enjoy my night with Lester. He'll be my escort for tonight." I wanted to burst into laughter when he stopped laughing upon hearing that. He looked serious now.

"Don't you dare, sweetie baby." His voice held warning. I raised my chin defiantly at him.

"Watch me." I then marched my way towards Lester's table. The program was already starting.

"Can I sit here?" Lester looked surprised when he looked up and saw me. His face instantly lit up with a smile.

"Of course, Nads!" He even stood up and pulled the chair for me. He was with his family and he introduced everyone to me.

"Oh, Lester. You didn't mention that you and Nadia were back together." His mother said merrily which kinda surprised me. I didn't expect that they knew about our past.

"Oh, you're mistaken, Mrs. Collins. Lester and I didn't get back together." I was quick to explain.

"But I am doing my best to court her, mom, dad, and I hope that she will give me another chance to be with her." I groaned inwardly, suddenly felt awkward. Lester's parents got excited of what Lester have said.

I was about to say something when I caught a glimpse of Ackier at his table, drinking. He was looking at our direction, obviously pissed off. A woman approached him but he ignored her as if he couldn't see nor hear what she was saying until the woman finally left.

I bit my lower lip as guilt began to eat me. He was alone there and obviously jealous. Goodness! He didn't even try to hide it.

I tried to concentrate on my conversation with Lester's family. We chatted about random staff as the program continues. Then, it was time for his family, relatives and friends to greet Lester one by one.

After that, they opened the dance floor. "I think we should let the birthday celebrant and his partner to open the dance floor." Janice announced and everyone looked at our direction teasingly as they started cheering for us. Looked like everyone had the wrong idea about us.

"Shall we?" Lester asked me with a smile as he held out his hand. I bit my lower lip as I suddenly felt nervous for an unknown reason. I wanted to decline Lester's offer to dance but I didn't want to embarrass him in front of everyone, especially that it's his birthday.

"O-Okay." I was about to give him my hand when the lights suddenly turned off. Everyone was surprised of what happened.

"What happened to the lights?" I heard Lester asked.

"We're on it, sir." Someone answered.

"Are you okay, Nadia?" Lester sounded concerned. I was about to answer when I gasped in surprised when someone suddenly scooped me up onto their arms, bridal style. I was about to scream but they covered my mouth with their hand.

I tried to struggle but it was futile. Oh, God. I'm getting kidnapped!

The person that was carrying me was now briskly walking out of the venue and I got so scared. I couldn't believe what was happening. I didn't know why but I suddenly remembered about Ackier. Wait a minute...This smell...

I tried to struggle once again and when we were at the hallway, the light of the moon illuminated the place that's why I could see my surroundings a little bit now. Even if it wasn't bright enough, at least, it's enough for me to see what was happening around me.

That's when I got the chance and bit his palm. I heard him grunt loudly in pain as he pulled his hand from me.

"Argh! What was that for?!" He asked and that confirmed my suspicion even without even looking at his face. I glared at him and pounded my fist on his chest in anger. Even though his hand got hurt, he didn't put me down.

"Damn you! You scared the heck out of me!" I snapped at him angrily.

"That's your fault. You angered me enough that I had to do this."

"What did I even do?! And what right do you have to kidnap me like this?!" His face hardened.

"You're mine, sweetie baby. You should already know by now that I'm territorial and I hate it when someone is messing with what's mine." His voice was full of jealousy and possessiveness.

My eyes squinted in anger as our gazes met. If I was mad, he's mad too. It was dim but it was enough for us to see each other's face.

"Take me back to the party." I commanded firmly and his lips twitched with a dangerous smirk.

"Never." He then started walking again, taking me somewhere.

"Acki!"

"Yes, sweetie baby?" His tone mellowed and became sweet. I rolled my eyes.

"Put me down!"

"Sorry, baby, but no." I squeezed my eyes shut as I tried to calm myself down. He's really stubborn!

"Fine. I'll come with you. Just put me down. People are already staring at us. It's embarrassing." My voice mellowed as well. He looked at me as if trying to figure out if he would agree to what I said.

We saw two employees passed by, throwing us a curious look.

"Acki, please. Put me down. I know how to walk on my own."

"Give me a kiss first."

"Acki!"

His lips curved with a suave smile. "Just a kiss, sweetie baby." I huffed in defeat and planted a soft kiss on his waiting lips.

"What was that?" He asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"A kiss, what else?"

"Is that so? But I didn't even feel it."

"Acki! I'm not playing around with you!"

"Me either." I looked at him in disbelief but then didn't have a choice but to just give in to his demands. I held onto his shoulders and then kissed him on the lips. I moved my lips shily, making sure that he would feel it this time.

But just when I was about to pull away, he suddenly parted his lips and quickly dominated the kiss.

"Hmp—" He didn't even let me protest as he claimed my mouth fully and deepened the kiss full of hunger. His tongue made love with mine and I got overwhelmed quickly. I felt him started walking towards somewhere again but I didn't care because my senses were dominated by delicious feelings that I couldn't explain.

"Damn. That was deliciously hot. I can't get enough of kissing you." He uttered triumphantly after that kiss and I smacked his arm. We were both catching our breaths.

"I can't believe you! Now that you finally got what you wanted, put me down already!" He chuckled and then planted another soft kiss on my lips before putting me down on my feet. I sighed in relief.

"Let's go?" He said and I bit my lower lip.

"Okay." He looked surprised for a second because I didn't protest any further but then grinned from ear to ear. He was about to hold my hand when I spoke.

"Walk ahead of me."

"Why?"

"Just do it." I insisted and he sighed in defeat. He turned his back and began walking. That was my cue. I ran as fast as I could, intending to go back to the party and leave him there.

But I didn't even have the chance to reach the entrance because Ackier already got a hold of my waist and then buried his face on the crook of my neck. I couldn't' believe that he actually caught up to me.

"You're really naughty, sweetie baby. Now, I'm going to punish you for trying to trick me like that." He whispered in my ear huskily and I swallowed hard as my heart started beating fast and hard.

"Acki! What do you think you're doing?!" I hissed when he swooped me up onto his arms and marched his way towards somewhere.

"Just like I've said, sweetie baby. I'm going to punish you." I could see the naughty smile on his face and I could already tell what he was planning to do. The surroundings outside were bright tonight because of the full moon and it's illuminating everything.

I could still remember how he 'punished' me the last time and my core clenched in anticipation. Oh, gosh, Nadia! You shouldn't give in just like that again!

"Why would you punish me? I didn't do anything! Will you cut it out already?!" I tried to sound as angry as possible but he just smirked at me. Then, we reached the garden of the hotel where there were many flowering plants and a big gazebo.

"You don't remember what you did a while ago? You even dared on dancing with that b*stard while I was just nearby and then you tried to run away from me." He put me down on my feet. I faced him angrily and was about to yell at him when he suddenly cupped my face and sealed my lips with a hot kiss.

"Get ready, sweetie baby. I'll make you scream and lose your mind that you'll forget about that fùcking party." I swallowed hard as my heart pounded even harder. Oh, my God. Looks like I can't really run away from him...
