fourth year,
a christmas  to
remember

Sirius had been adjusting his tie in the mirror for nearly twenty minutes, Regulus offer to do his tie for him. He shrugged him off, Regulus eyed him carefully he was acting weird, he was nervous. 'Sirius is never nervous about mother's Christmas Ball,'

"Sirius, your tie is as good as it's going to get," Regulus said, he held his hands up, surrendering he then began to mess with his hair. "What is with you?"

"Don't say anything to mother," he started taking a deep breath, "I invited Aimee, as a date,"

"Are you serious?"

"Yes I am Sirius, what about you?" he laughed, he rolled his eyes at him, "Sorry, I make jokes when I'm uncomfortable,"

"Why are you uncomfortable?" Regulus smirked he had never seen his brother like this so besotted with someone that he lost his cool.

"I have a habit of screwing things up with Aimee, I want this to be perfect," he said, he sighed looking down at his tie, "and I'm afraid I'll screw up,"

Regulus offered him what little comfort he could hoping he would calm down just a little, as Walburga eyed them both suspiciously. The two brothers waited in the ballroom as guests made their way through the house, then he saw her.

Dressed in a gorgeous emerald satin gown, green suited her perfectly, she looked beautiful, her hair while still very curly was in an updo, with a few wavy curls hanging loosely. Everything about her how she walked, smiled, even the little giggle she did, when she tried to refrain from laughing too much was perfect.

"You're staring," Regulus whispered "She does look beautiful though," he nudged Sirius into motion, he straightened his blazed bowing down to her,

"An exquisite beauty right in front of me," she smiled her cheeks flushed red, she smiled at him, Sirius held her hand guiding her towards Regulus,

"Beautiful," he said, wrapping his arms around her

"You boys always look dashing at these things," she said,

After the guest began to dance, Sirius guided Aimee to the dance floor, twirling her around she smiled so brightly like, her face could only make that expression, throughout the entire dance he kept glancing down at her lips, he quickly glanced away as she caught his eyes lingering.

He was worried that he would be going too far, and she'd push him away. She couldn't stop thinking about him and what had happened in the last few months lying in bed together cuddled up. How her feelings had changed.

After the guest left, Sirius, Aimee and Regulus lounged around the living after Walburga and Orion went to bed. Regulus was also tired and retreated to his bedroom, Sirius held her hand walking her outside, they walked through the moonlit garden.

"I've never seen so many stars, in the sky," she said, gazing up at the sky,

"Yeah, I just have to look at my family tapestry," she laughed

"Okay, that one was funny," she said, he turned his head looking away, he took a deep breathe

"Can I tell you about this little tradition me and Reg use to do on Christmas?" she nodded "Well, every Christmas, we'd close our eyes, and make a wish for each other, it might be something silly like I wish you funnier, or I wish you'd stop annoying me, or it might be I wish you make the Quidditch team or I wish you greatness," she smiled she loved that they did that at Christmas.

"That sounds amazing, do you still do that?"

"Yes, although this year, I made a wish for you," he said, she smiled at him "Close your eyes,"

She listened to him, closing her eyes, he took another deep breath, looking down at her lips again. He pressed his lips against hers, his hands resting on her lower back holding her close to him. She pulled away unable to open her eyes for a moment.

She ran her fingers through his hair, settling her hands around his neck, pulling him down to kiss her again. He rested his forehead against hers neither could speak, only smile, he chuckled a little biting his lip.

"I've wanted to kiss you for so long," he whispered, she smiled at him

"Why did you wait all this time?"

"I needed the right moment to do it," she chuckled

"Come on, let's go to bed," she said, he raised his brows

"Not like that," she laughed, "we'll just sleep,"

Sirius held her hand as they walked through Grimmauld Place, he let her get changed alone, she got comfortable, in bed. He laid in bed next to her, she was faced away from him, she reached her hand behind her, taking his hand and draping it over her stomach.

"I liked when you held me like this," she said, he smiled nuzzling his face into her neck, he couldn't believe how the night had turned out.

They slept comfortably together, hardly moving throughout the night. Sirius had forgotten that his parents could have easily walked in and found them, however, the odds of that happening were very slim. Walburga despised that his room was plastered in muggle posters and Gryffindor banners, she would avoid entering his room if she could.

She had tried many times to remove them while he was at Hogwarts, which Sirius knew she would, he had charmed everything in his room to be unmoveable. Any posters stuck on his walls were there permanently, which thoroughly annoyed his mother.

Sirius woke up when he heard Kreacher making his way to Regulus' room, he smiled as she laid soundly asleep, in his arms. He pulled her closer to him, she stirred in her sleep, she turned over smiling at him, snuggling closer.

"Morning," Sirius said,

"I've never seen you wake up so smiley before," she said, smiling up at him "you're normally a grumpy morning person,"

"I had someone to wake up to," he said, she smiled he kissed her cheek, before leaving the room allowing her to change.

"Master Sirius, is something wrong?"

"No, Kreacher, why would there be?"

"Kreacher had to wake Master Sirius up, twice sometimes three times, for 15 years, now master awake before Kreacher get to him,"

"Aimee, stayed here, could you keep my mother busy, while I take her home," he asked

"Kreacher will try, but mistress can be difficult,"

"Believe me I know,"

Kreacher left to go and prepare breakfast, he walked back into his room, Aimee had an emerald satin gown back on. She waved her wand over her dress which turned the dress a little shorter and less fancy so she felt more comfortable walking down the street.

He offered to take her home, she was unsure if her mother would be home, in which case Sirius couldn't come anywhere near her home. Aimee stopped at her door, signalling for him to be quiet, he followed her through her house, up to her bedroom, he lounged on her bed, making himself comfortable, grabbing the book from her bedside table.

"Little Women, What's that about?"

"You won't like it, a woman coming of age story, it four sisters as they make decisions that will their future," she said, she smiled,

"Yeah, I don't think that my type of book," he smiled at her, "you can still read to me if you want,"

He made himself comfortable on her bed, she leaned on his chest, resting her head on his shoulder. She flipped open the book, Sirius resting his arm over her stomach, she snuggled up to him and began to read.

'Christmas won't be Christmas without any presents,' grumbled Jo, lying on the rug.

'It's so dreadful to be poor!' sighed Meg, looking down at her old dress.

'I don't think it's fair for some girls to have lots of pretty things, and other girls nothing at all,' added little Amy, with an injured sniff.
'We've got father and mother, and each other, anyhow,' said Beth, contentedly, from her corner...

Sirius loved listening to the sound of her voice as she read to him, he couldn't care if she read him a book or a story from the Daily Prophet. Aimee had read him three chapters of the book she stopped reading to him when she heard the front door open.

"Aimee, are you home yet?" her mother called,

"Crap, my mother's home,"

"Don't worry, I'll hide," Sirius turned into a dog, hiding under her bed, just in time as her mother entered the room.

"You are home then," she sniffed, "It smells like dog in here,"

"I'll clean up,"

"Your father left you this," she said, handing Aimee a broom shaped parcel, "don't break it this time,"

As her mother left, she unwrapped the parcel, admiring the brand new broom her father had. Sirius turned back to himself, ruffling his hair, he looked at the broom laid on her bed. Aimee held her finger to her lips, tapping her ear, Sirius kept quiet for a moment.

"Alright, she shouldn't hear us now,"

"This is a great broom, mind if I borrow it some time,"

"Not likely, my father will have paid a lot of money for it," she said, he smiled at her, he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Are you going to tell anyone about last night?"

"Are you?" Aimee asked

"Not if you don't want me to,"

"I won't be telling the girls for a while, Marlene will be asking all sorts of questions,"

"Yeah, I won't hear the last of it from James," she nodded in agreeance, "you won't tell Reg will you,"

"He's your brother, I won't tell him if you don't want me to,"

"Thanks, I guess I should go," he said, walking towards her window,

"What are you doing?" she said, stopping him as he climbed out of her window.

"I can't walk out the front door, now your mother's home,"

"Oh yeah, right," he looked outside judging the distance, Aimee bit her lip, as he climbed out of the window "Sirius,"

"Yeah?" she walked over to the window.

She leaned forward kissing him, he smiled as she kissed him, he snaked his hand around her neck making their kiss more firm. She smiled as she pulled away, he pecked her lips one last time, before climbing down the plant climbing frame that ran all the way down from her bedroom window. He jumped down, the last bit, winking at Aimee as he hurried home.

Her very own Romeo, sneaking away from her family's home.
