Two
The young man felt the anxiety and dread rise within him as he got closer to the room where he was told his brother is.
Perhaps it was because he wasn't sure what to expect when he saw his younger brother, his only family left. From the information he had gotten, the attack was brutal. It'll go away once he sees his brother, right?
Sucking in a breath for courage, he opened the door and almost cried in relief to see that his brother was almost unharmed.
"Dean."
The boy looked up from his scar to the door, where the breathless man was standing, relief clear on his face.
"Hey, Sean." The boy, Dean, smiled at the man and watched him cross the room, his eyes on the months old scar.
"I swear, I'll kill every one of those rouges, if its the last thing I do." Sean growled, anger burning in his eyes.
"Well, not all. In fact, the person who helped me was a Blood Moon as well." Dean said, remembering how the kind girl helped her, before making sure that he got to an ally pack safely.
Sean's eyes widened at this information, a Blood Moon being kind is unheard of, at least from what knows.
"Are you sure it was a Blood Moon?" Sean asked skeptically, but before he could answer, a girl walked into the room with a first aid kit and stopped in her tracks when she saw Sean.
"Oh! I- I didn't know you were in here, Alpha, I would have knocked otherwise." She stammered out, clearly intimidated by the man's powerful aura. Dean chuckled and shook his head while Sean raised his eyebrow in amusement.
"It's fine, Claire, he's just my brother, he won't hurt you." Dean told her as he walked to her and kissed her forehead gently, making her relax. Sean's face visibly brightened at the sight.
"So you finally found your mate, little brother?" Sean asked Dean, who scowled at him.
"Don't call me that, I'm only a year younger." He said, and looked down at Claire, his expression softening, "And yes, I did find my mate."
"Well, that's great. I'm assuming you both are ready to come home then?" Sean asked the both of them.
"Yeah," Claire nodded, "I'll go get our luggages." She said and went to leave the room, but was stopped by Sean,
"No, that's fine, one of the boys can do that." He said as he nodded towards the two men standing at the door and watched them bow slightly in respect and leave to get the luggage packed up in the car. "You can say goodbye to whom ever you want though." Sean saw her face fall and Dean's grip on her tighten ever so slightly.
"No, t-that's fine." Claire replied, biting her lip and looking down. "I don't- I don't have anyone to say goodbye to." She whispered sadly and felt her mate rub her arm to comfort her. Sean's eyes widened in understanding.
"Oh. Let's go then." He said, walking out of the room, the two mate's following him, wrapped in each other's arms.
The dread and anxiety Sean felt when he got here, only increased rather than diminishing, and he wondered why.
