Three
Dean shut the door to his room behind him and attacked his bed face first, happy to finally be home. He smiled slightly as he heard his mate giggle.
"What's so funny, Claire bear." He asked her, although his voice was muffled by the comforter under him.
The blonde girl scowled down at the back of her mate's head, "don't call me that," she said and hit him with a pillow.
The boy sat up with a start and was about to jump at her when he heard a loud bang, like someone threw something heavy at a wall, coming from the Alpha's office. He didn't waste a second to rush to the room, worried that his brother had hurt himself.
When he got there, he saw that the table, the huge heavy mahogany table that adorned the middle of the room was now next to the wall, in pieces, and his older brother next to it, eyes black and breathing heavily.
"Sean, what's going on?" He asked the alpha, his time betraying his concern. The man whipped his head to the door, where his brother stood.
"The guards have been torturing female wolves behind our backs." He managed to growl out. Dean's eyes widened at this, the one rule set for interrogating the rouges was not to lay a hand on female wolves, the guards knew that.
"Is she alright?" Dean hesitated to ask, he didn't know if he wanted to find out. "We should go and see." He suggested when Sean didn't reply. Then, the younger brother walked up to the older one and tugged at his arm gently, urging him to move forward.
As they walked out, Dean saw Claire looking at them with wide eyes full of concern.
"I-is everything alright?" She asked, stuttering slightly, weather it was from the worry for the female or intimidation from the angry alpha, he wasn't sure, so he held her hand and kissed her cheek.
"Claire, I need you to prepare the medical room, there's one opposite to our room, one next to this one and another one downstairs, right in front of the dungeon door. Choose whichever you feel is convenient and mind link me, okay? If the female is badly injured, we'll be needing it." He told her in a calm voice.
Claire nodded and rushed to their room to fetch her medical kit. Dean watched his mate till she turned the corner, then looked at Sean and together they continued on walking the short distance to the dungeons.
Once they reached the door that leads to the underground dungeons, Dean stopped them both and turned to his brother.
"Sean, you need to be calm, okay? We don't know the state of the female and if she's scared, you'll only frighten her further. The guards can be dealt with later, our main focus is going to be the girl, okay." Dean explained to him, making him huff in anger and nod rigidly.
Once the younger boy sighed and opened the door, Sean smelt the most beautiful smell he had smelt and it was like all anger left him, as of the smell acted as a vacuum.
He didn't notice the guards looking up at them in surprise, he didn't notice the growling coming from the cells, neither did he notice the glare Dean was throwing at the guards. All he noticed was the smell that was coming from the furtherest cell, where a girl lay, with dull eyes and pale skin, bruised and battered in barely any clothes and whip marks adorning her body like tattoos.
Then he heard his brother say, "that's her, Sean, that's the girl who saved my life."
And the anger that he had left behind at the entrance of the dungeons caught up to him again and all hell broke loose.
