One
The angry howls and deafening growls of the fight between the Blood Moon Pack and the New Moon Pack could be heard in the distance. Wolves and men alike, fighting ruthlessly, seeking each other's blood for no reason.
But, far away from the violence, amidst the field of flowers, sat a girl, oblivious to the unforgiving war being fought. She had a kind smile on her face, as she made a crown from the flowers around her. She twirled the stems of the flowers around each other, furrowing her eyebrows in concentration.
*Snap*
The snap of a twig, pulled her out of her thoughts, making her stop what she was going and look up. She strained her eyes towards the thick forest that lay ahead of her, surrounding the field like a cocoon.
When she heard the snap of the twig again, along with a groan of pain, she slowly kept her unfinished crown to the side and stood up. Cautiously she walked towards where she thought she heard the sound, mentally scolding herself for not attending the training sessions with her brother.
Suddenly, she jumped back as a boy, roughly of her age fell forward through the trees, holding his side that was bleeding profusely. The girl's wide eyes wandered the frame of the boy, a gasp escaping her lips when she saw the massive wound of a werewolf's bite on his side, along with the minor cuts and gashes adorning his entire frame.
Immediately, she rushed to the boy and helped him sit down, resting his back to the tree. Then she rushed to the near by trees and plucking out leaves that she knew would help him heal. She knew who he was, he was a member from the New Moon Pack, the very pack hers is at war with. She also knew that the members of her pack, the Blood Moon Pack are the cause of his injuries. She was well aware that she was going against the rules. But right now, she didn't care, all she cared about was the boy sitting behind her, moaning in obvious pain.
The boy wondered why she was not dragging him to the dungeons and locking him up in a cell, for her pack member to interrogate, torture and kill. Why, instead, is she helping him, healing him even. She was, after all a member of the Blood Moon Pack, and every wolf from that ruthless pack is heartless and uncaring. Or are they? Is there a real possibility that there is one kind person in here? Or is she just healing him to keep me alive so she could hurt him more later?
All these questions filled his mind as he watched the back of the girl with a flower crown on her head, making some sort of a pulp from the leaves she gathered.
But all questions and doubts of the girl being evil or having an ulterior motive left his mind as the girl turned to face him, with a calm look on her face, her lips curved up in a kind smile and her eyes full of innocence.
