Talking

She sat with him on her bed, tears long gone. Now they were talking, about her.

He had told her it was okay, she would get better. But Raven. She was hesitant. She didn't want to talk much. She was more of a listener.

Robin put an arm over her shoulder, noticing her flinch. This was a flinch from pain though, not fear.

"Raven? Is something wrong with your back?"

She didn't respond, head down.

"Rae, if something's wrong, tell me. I can help."

He removed his arm, using his hand to lightly press against her back, feeling for an injury.

When he touched the top middle of her back, Raven jerked away. He unzipped her leotard slightly, her cloak long forgotten on the floor.

There was a cut across her back, just starting to heal. It went from her left shoulder to the middle of her back. From the looks of it, it was a knife wound.

"Raven..." He whispered, staring at the angry gash.

"What is this from?"

"Nothing."

He sighed, staring into her violet eyes.

"Liar."

"It's from nothing."

"Ra-"

Raven stood up, her black magic zipping her leotard. Her eyes flashed crimson red, and she had her hands clenched at her sides. Her voice was steady, but held annoyance.

"It's nothing. It doesn't concern you."

Robin closed his masked eyes, sensing the silent plea to not press the issue. But he was not a quitter, therefore, he was going to get his answer.

"You're my friend. It does concern me, because I'm you're leader, and I take responsibility for these kind of things. Just tell me."

Raven unclenched her fists, but didn't sit. She had her back to him when she revealed the reason for the injury.

"Jinx."

"What do you mean?" The pink sorceress was on the good side now, and not one to play with knives, that Robin knew.

"She was hypnotized by something. Someone. And a couple days ago, when I went for that walk, she came up behind me, and got me."

Her voice was quiet, ashamed. Robin knew she didn't like to be taken by surprise like that. She didn't like to be vulnerable.

"Rae, why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"I didn't want to."

Robin stood up, his hands on her shoulders, his voice next to her ear.

"You know I'd help, Rae."

Her muscles tensed under his touch, as she put up her barrier again.

"That's exactly why I didn't say anything. I didn't want help."

"Not even from me?"

"Not even from you. I'm capable of healing myself."

She felt the confusion in his aura.

"I didn't heal myself because of the shock going through me at the time."

He unzipped the leotard again, just enough to expose the cut. But when he looked down on it, it was starting to heal. Skin stitching itself together.

Raven didn't move, she did however feel his gloved hand brush across her back. She felt goosebumps raise on her skin, and shivered from his gentle touch.

Robin was in a trance, watching her skin react to his fingers. He had gotten even closer, and now had his mouth pressed against the side of her neck.

Raven held her breath, surprised by the warmth of his lips. Somewhere in the distance, a lightbulb shattered.

His hands found their way to her hips, where he placed them lightly.

"R-Robin...."

Raven managed to say, her voice shaking.

"What are you doing?"

The Boy Wonder suckled gently on her skin, ignoring her question. he felt her relax against him, her back pressing against his chest.

He planted butterfly kisses down her neck, stopping at her shoulders to look at her.

"I love you, Rae."
