The story revolves around Alexis and her family. Alexis is portrayed as a cast-aside, smart, reserved, and quiet female. Her personality is due to her upbringing and relationship with her parents and twin sister.

Writing Style:

The story is written in first person pov with Alexis being the main speaker of the plot. This style allows for only a one-sided view of the story. Anything unseen by the main character is not mentioned.

Spellings and Vocabulary:

There is little issue with spelling and vocabulary. However, the first letters of some sentences are not capitalized. Also, sentence structure and punctuation can be improved.

Overall Impression:

It reminds me of old Wattpad stories, except there hasn't been an insertion of a love interest yet. It is mostly a slice-of-life kind of energy that I am getting. Like an everyday summary of the life of Alexis.

Strengths & Weaknesses:

The cliche troupe of the plot works for and against the book. It is a very common plot, loved-daughter and unloved daughter, and their high school plot.

Recommendation:

The story can do without the prologue, the reason behind her lack of love could be included in the story in other subtle ways.

"The overlooked Prodigy" would have been a perfect chapter to start the book with. It gives us an insight into the kind of person Alexis is and her relationship with her parents.

The chapters are quite short, it wouldn't be bad if you could join two chapters to make one because a lot of time is spent on the back story instead of the present day.
