Chapter 11

Staying true to my word, I spent the next couple days at Eves house. Honestly, I needed it, but I planned on heading back to the hospital today.

I rolled out of Eves bed and got dressed, smiling slightly at her sleeping frame.

I headed downstairs and thought about just leaving, but decided against it and took a seat on her couch, pulling my phone out.

I called up Diana.

"Hello?" She answered.

"Hey, it's Belle, how's mom doing?"

She sighed. "Jeremy and I stopped by yesterday. She's still not awake, but the doctors are confident she'll pull through."

I looked down with a small smile, a wave of reassurance washing over me. "That's good to hear... I'm heading back today."

"Belle..."

Before I could reply, Eve came walking down the stairs, stretching. "Good morning." She greeted with a smile.

I returned it. "Eve's up, I'll call you later, Diana."

"Alright... just think about your decision before you go through with it, ok?"

I sighed. "I will. Bye."

"Bye." She said before hanging up.

I put my phone away as Eve plopped down next to me. "So, what was all that about?" She asked.

"Just checking in... I'm thinking about heading back to the hospital today." I replied.

She looked down and took my hand in hers. "Belle, it's only been two days."

"I know... Diana said the doctors are confident she'll pull through... but I have to see her for myself."

She looked up at me. "If the doctors say she'll be ok, then what's one more day..? Besides, I had plans for today..." She replied with a seductive look, running her hand slowly up my thigh.

I sucked in a tight breath. "Maybe I could be convinced..."

She smirked as she leaned in, capturing my lips in a steamy kiss, which definitely included tongue. She lightly bit my bottom lip as she slowly pulled away, looking deep into my eyes.

"Convinced?"

I nodded slowly as I leaned back in for another kiss.

She lightly pushed me down onto the couch before straddling me, kissing a light trail down my chin and neck to my collar bone.

I pulled my shirt over my head as she continued her trail of kisses over my chest and down my stomach to my waistline.

She smiled up at me as she pulled my pants off, then kissed lower...

We laid on the couch, our clothes and the pillows were scattered on the floor.

I ran my hand through Eves hair. "One more day wouldn't hurt."

She giggled as she leaned her head up for a quick kiss.

"You know, I've been doing some thinking." I started.

"What about?" She asked.

"Us... I mean, what are we... relationship wise?"

She smiled up at me. "Are you asking me to be your girlfriend?"

My cheeks immediately flushed. "Well... I mean... maybe... if you want that is."

Her smile grew wider as she captured my lips in another kiss. "I'd love to."

I smiled back. "Really?"

She shrugged. "Sure, I'm not doing anything else."

I laughed as I sat up. "Gee, thanks."

She laughed back before kissing my nose. "I'm kidding... underneath that doom and gloom exterior, you're a really sweet girl and... I care about you."

She kissed me again before whispering. "I care about you a lot."

I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her into me. "Eve... I-I-"

Eves phone ringing cut me off. She groaned as she pulled it from her pants pocket on the floor.

"Hello?" She answered.

She was quiet for a second before looking at me. "Actually, I'm a little busy right now, Stacy."

I gave her a small smile.

"Alright... I'll talk to you later... bye." She hung up and placed her phone on the coffee table before looking back at me.

"So, you were saying?" She asked, a small smile on her lips.

'Say It Belle... Tell her you're in love with her.'

"Eve, I... uh..." I looked down and sighed. "... Do you wanna grab some lunch?"

A disappointed look crossed her features, almost like she knew what I wanted to say. Then, she smiled. "Sure."

After getting dressed, we headed out the door...

We ate lunch and decided to go for a walk around the park afterwards.

Eve held my hand in hers as we strolled down the long hiking path, leading into the woods, a small creek running next to us.

My mind was abuzz the whole time. 'I can't believe you bitched out! That was your chance and you blew it... loser.'

I rolled my eyes at myself.

   "You ok?" Eve asked.

   I nodded. "Yeah, why?"

She shrugged. "I don't know, you just seem a little distant."

I looked down and sighed. "Sorry. There's just a lot on my mind right now."

She gently squeezed my hand. "Hey, there's nothing to be sorry for, I know you're going through a lot right now."

I gave her a small smile. "And I'd be a total wreck right now if it weren't for you."

She laughed a little. "You don't give yourself enough credit, Belle. You're stronger than you look."

I chuckled. "I'm gonna take that as a complement."

She smiled. "You should."

Then, she stopped walking and leaned against a wooden fence overlooking the creek, pulling me with her.

We watched the water flow downstream in silence.

'C'mon, Belle, you can do this...'

I glanced at Eve and took her hand. "Eve... there's something I've been meaning to tell you."

She looked over at me, a small smile creeping onto her lips. "I'm all ears."

I looked down as I rubbed the back of her hand with my thumb. 'Well? Start talking.'

I let out a small sigh. "Ive spent most of my life in fear of my own feelings. I think I always knew I liked girls, but I was always afraid of what people might think of me if they knew that... then I met a girl who changed that, who helped me feel comfortable with who I am..."

I blinked back a few tears. "... I truly loved that girl... I loved her so much that when she left, I thought I could never love anyone the same way I loved her..."

I looked into Eves eyes. "... And that was true for a long time... but, then I met you and in the short time I've known you, you've made me feel like I could accomplish anything. Like all the problems in my life don't mean anything as long as you're around... you're the best thing that's ever happened to me, Eve... a-and I love you."

She stared at me silently, an emotionless expression on her face.

'Damn dude, I told you to tell her that you loved her, not give her your life story.'

I opened my mouth to speak, but she cut me off by pulling me into a lingering kiss.

When she finally pulled away, she smiled at me. "Belle... I love you to..."

We shared a smile, everything wrong in my life seeming to fade away.

This was a moment I would remember for the rest of my life. A moment that would change my life forever...
