Seven

The Orcs carried Legolas far and fast. He was in so much pain, but at least they'd bandaged his shoulder. He wondered if they'd left Aragorn alive; Legolas hoped so. Arwen would kill him for not protecting her husband. That is, if the Orcs didn't kill him first. They carried him to a shelter probably only three kilometers from the palace. They took him inside the building and bound his wrists. They sat him in a corner and waited, playing a game to see who could spit on the Elf from the farthest away. Legolas was disgusted by these creatures, and rightfully so. Soon a voice yelled at the Orcs that were spitting on him. He couldn't open his eyes on account of the amount of saliva gathered on top of them. A hand touched Legolas arm and he flinched. The hand held him firmly and he knew it was pointless to try and struggle. A cloth touched his face and began to wipe away the Orcs' spit. Once the hand stopped cleaning his face, Legolas opened his eyes. There was a woman there. She smiled at him.

"Unnu sda upir wesfe," she said.

        "What?"

"Oh, sorry. I'm glad you're okay," she clarified. "You are lucky to be alive. They normally would have killed you by now."

"What are they going to do?" Legolas asked, becoming afraid.

"Alas, I do not know. I am merely a servant. But do not lose all hope, King of Greenwood," the woman whispered, "for you may yet be saved."

Aragorn, Legolas thought immediately. And Gandalf and Gimli. I know they will come.

"Thank you, miss. What is your name?"

The woman laughed, dryly, "I haven't got one. But they call me seven, as I am the seventh female they bought. Sleep well, Majesty."

As Seven left, Legolas felt a surge of anger flow through him. Seven? What kind of a name was that? And they bought her? Legolas wanted to get out of here. He wanted to free the slaves kept by these Orcs. He wished to kill their leader. No one should have to answer to a number. He began to struggle against his bonds, but the movement jostled his legs and caused him pain. He stopped moving and leaned into the wall. He watched a door open and saw a quite large Uruk-hai enter the room.

The creature stood in front of Legolas and knelt before him. The Elf looked away, but the Uruk roughly pulled his head up by his long, blonde hair. The monster studied the Elf in his grasp for a moment before roughly throwing him back into the wall. He turned to a pair of Orcs and barked an order at them in some language that Legolas did not understand. The two Orcs pulled Legolas off the floor and dragged him into another room. They untied his arms and retied them above his head. They hung him from the ceiling by his wrists and left him there. Legolas drifted in and out of sleep, but his dreams were nothing more than nightmares of the place around him.

Legolas awoke the next morning when his head was jerked upright by one of the creatures holding him prisoner. They forced some sort of gross meat down him throat and left him again. Darkness surrounded Legolas. Even with his keen vision he could not see any shapes around him that would indicate that there were any objects or other people in the room. His shoulder was hurting. It couldn't support the weight of his body. Legolas knew that it might tear from him if the Orcs and Uruk-hai hung him like this much longer.
