Legolas' Return

Aragorn was sitting in the village square during the Summer Festival. There was a festival on every solstice and today was the longest day of the year. He and Arwen watched the smaller Elflings run about with each other and the younger elleths. The young ellons just stood back and watched the girls with some interest. Aragorn chuckled at that. Soon, Gandalf appeared from his hut and approached the children. They were on him in an instant.

"Mithrandir!" they called, jumping up and down. "Will you show us some tricks?"

Gandalf laughed and produced a strawberry from his sleeve. He flicked his wrist and it was a blueberry. He repeated the motion and there was an orange in his palm. Then a banana, an apple, a grapefruit, a star fruit, a dragon fruit and finally a cluster of grapes which he distributed among the children. He laughed as they ate their fruit, claiming it tasted like one type of produce and then another.

Suddenly, a horse came galloping into the square, riderless and afraid. It was followed by a cloaked figure that tried to calm it. The horse instead kicked the figure and set him sprawling. Aragorn hurried to calm the animal while Gandalf and Arwen tried to calm the children. Aragorn took the horse to the stables and returned to the square to talk to her owner. They found the rider lying on the ground by the fountain. He was gasping for air and clutching his stomach. Aragorn helped the man sit up and gave him some water.

"Thank you," said a familiar voice.

Arwen pulled the rider's hood back and screamed. Thranduil, Gimli, and Gandalf ran over and were completely shocked at what they saw. There, in Aragorn's arms was Legolas – with both his arms. Arwen threw her arms around her dear friend and nearly knocked the wind out of him again.

"Oh, Legolas," she sobbed, "I'm so glad you've finally come!"

"Um, thank you?" Legolas said, catching his breath again. "Do I know you? How do you know my name?"

Arwen jerked back, and the other four froze. Do I know you?  What was he saying?

"I – I am Arwen, Daughter of Elrond. We've been friends since we were children. Don't you remember?"

Legolas shook his head and stood along with Aragorn.

Thranduil stepped forward, "What about me? Do you remember me?"

"No. I don't remember any of you. But – but I feel as though I should," Legolas confessed.

Aragorn sighed in relief, "Then you're not too far gone. Come with me."

They took Legolas to the healer. Since you're never really hurt in the Undying Lands, there was only one healer. This healer was known as Camden. He was very skilled and could cure almost anything. They just hoped he could cure memory loss. The group rushed to Camden's hut with a very confused Legolas in tow. Aragorn knocked on the door of the Lorien Elf. Camden opened to door.

"Aragorn! Hello my friend. What can I do for you?" Camden greeted, letting the group into his home.

"Camden, we need your help. You remember Legolas, right?" Aragorn began.

"Yes, yes I do. He's standing right in front of me, is he not?"

"He is. He needs your help," Aragorn continued. "You see, he..."

"I am perfectly fine, thank you!" Legolas interrupted.

"Not if you do not remember your own father!" Aragorn retorted.

"My own..." Legolas faltered, turning to look at Thranduil, who was paying closer attention to the healer in front of him – deciding if it would be safe to leave his son with him.

Aragorn went on to explain their problem to Camden. Legolas wasn't paying much attention. His father? If he'd forgotten his own father then he really did need help! His thoughts were interrupted by Camden pulling him over to a chair. He talked with Legolas for a bit about what he did remember – which was mostly waking up in the middle of the forest with the horse that had run away from him when he'd tried to mount it.

Camden fixed a special tea for Legolas and bade him to drink. Legolas took a cautious sip, not knowing what exactly was in the concoction. It tasted sweet, like strawberries and bananas. He finished it when Camden explained that the medicine could only work if he drank the whole cup. Legolas sat the cup on the table in front of him. His vision started to blur and then he passed out – dropping his head onto the table. Legolas friends and father were terrified at the sudden reaction, but Camden calmly picked up the prince and laid him in a bed.

"He'll be asleep for a while," Camden explained. "But when he wakes up he should remember. But he may also have a headache or possibly feel sick."

"Whatever happens, we'll be glad when he wakes up," Aragorn assured as the group left. They had things to do and they knew Legolas was in good hands.

A/N    Will he remember? IDK.  MWAHAHAHA. I'm so mean. Two comments for an update!
