Episode 16: Water Washes Away
(And now we are getting to the good stuff and towards the end of this book! I can't wait to see your reactions to it! Of course, after this, I am not sure what I shall write next for you. I have a few ideas, and I recently got back into Hetalia, so there's that. Enjoy!)
They returned to their homes to rest and prepare for another day at work. However, they still felt a strange, foreboding feeling deep inside. Kim was distracted when she was testing out new gadgets, Randy kept messing up his sketches, Danny couldn't put anything together, and Star couldn't focus on her work.
"Something's not right" she whispered as she tried to put a book back into a shelf.
"What's not right?" Janna asked as Star took another book out of the shelf to see her face!
"Gah! Janna! Why?" Star asked as she fell from the ladder and on her back.
"Because I can. Also, because if you sense something wrong, then that means something is going to be wrong. Have you talked with your teammates about this?" Janna asked as she walked along the edge of the bookshelf, "Because this might be important"
"I don't know" Star answered as she didn't bother to get up from the floor, "After the festival, I felt something strange occurring. I don't know what this is or what it means. I should've told the team, but I felt like I needed to get home"
Janna was surprised to hear this as she sat next to her worried friend. Star placed a book over her face and groaned. She could feel something not right in the air, but she wasn't sure what it was. She wondered if she should've consulted with Magical Instructions about this. She sat up and then went to pick up the books scattered around her feet.
"I'll just check with Magical Instructions after work" Star said as she put the books away as calmly as she could, "I just hope nothing else happens to everyone else"
There was a violent shake in the ground as Star and Janna ducked. Star looked outside and noticed a wave of fire.
"I'll handle that!" Star shouted as Janna nodded to her friend.
Star rushed out and transformed as people were fleeing from the scene. They were panicked as the Inferno was waving his blazing claymore around himself. Witch couldn't think of a practical reason to why Inferno would be doing this, but she has to stop him!
"Hey! Pick on someone your own size!" Witch shouted as she jumped and raised her wand above her head.
Inferno wasn't paying attention to her, so she was confident she could defeat him in one strike.
"Huh? Woah!" Inferno exclaimed as a powerful wave of water washed over him!
"What?! Woah, woah!" Witch exclaimed as she quickly summoned her butterfly wings to stop herself from falling into the powerful waves of water.
"Help us!" a person shouted as she turned her attention to a group of people cornered.
Witch didn't hesitate to dive in front of them. She landed in front of them as she spun her wand. She gathered the electrical energy from the buildings and then slammed the wand in front of her and the people behind her to create a powerful, blue shield with lightning bursting from it. She continued to protect them as she noticed someone was walking through the powerful water.
"Who could be doing that?" Witch whispered until she gasped as the figure was walking right pass her, "Siren?!"
Siren was simply walking through the water with her right hand rising to her head. She was controlling the water easily and using the fire hydrants to unleash more and more water towards Inferno. Inferno was holding his throat and struggling to keep air in. He placed his hands over his mouth and struggled as Witch's eyes were worried. If this keeps up, Siren could drown him! She left her wand in front of the people and flew towards Inferno.
"Siren stop!" Witch yelled as she dived straight into the water.
Siren was surprised as Witch then swam in the water and grabbed Inferno by wrapping her arms around his waist. She then swam upward and gasped for air when she popped her head out of the water. Inferno did too, but he was so tired from trying to keep the air that he collapsed against Witch.
As for Siren, she was surprised to see Witch saving an enemy, but Lapis struggled to regain control of herself.
"What are you doing!? I thought I pushed you away!" Bill snapped in frustration.
"I believe in my friends" Lapis answered him firmly, "So, I will do everything I can to stop you with my powers and help my friends with everything I can!"
While it appeared that Siren was holding her head with her left hand and struggling to stand up, that was not really the case internally. They were standing on top of a blue and gray stain glass circle. Lapis was standing on it with her wrists changed to the stain glass. Bill was hovering above it and facing her.
"Do you really think you can stop me yourself?" Bill taunted her with a wave of his hand.
"No, but I can hold you back" Lapis answered determinedly as she stood to face him, "They will not let you get away with this"
Bill examined her form and noticed she was still standing strong after a full day of possession. He had to commend her, she was doing much better than he thought she would. She then raised her hand as high as she could to make a wave of water wash towards Bill.
"Oh, a simple wave attack" Bill said amused as he let the water wash over him, "But that won't stop me!"
He pressed his hands against the water and used it to turn against her! Lapis was surprised to see the water turning against her and becoming bigger! The water surrounded her as she looked around for anyway to break away. Bill's hand formed a fist as it then jumped at Lapis to trap her in a sphere of water! She held her throat and tried to hold her breath as best as she could.
"Ah, you haven't even learned some of the simple skills of using water" Bill said surprised as Lapis opened her left eye to look at him, "But I also have to keep you alive. Talk about annoying"
He opened his fist to release her. Lapis gasped and took many deep breaths of air. She held her throat as she coughed some of the water out too. She glared at him as Bill rolled his eye and crossed his arms over in front of him.
"This is the tricky part of possessing a being of the living realm" Bill said annoyed, "If you kill the conscious one in the body, then the person dies. Wouldn't want that now, would we?! Hahaha!"
Lapis felt worn out as she closed her eyes and fell asleep against the stain glass. She weakly saw her figure on the stain glass before losing control over her body.
As for Witch, she placed Inferno on the ground and let him rest on the ground. She looked at the people who were unharmed by the powerful waves of water. She sighed in relief before turning her attention to Siren. Witch was prepared to give her friend a piece of her mind, but Witch noticed Siren was struggling to stand and hold herself. Witch held her hand out to have her wand return to her side and flew to land in front of Siren.
"Siren? Are you ok?" Witch asked with concern as she held a worried expression.
"Witch..." Siren whispered in pain as she looked at her friend just as Bill took control, "I am fine. I apologize. My powers were not under my control"
That relieved Witch immensely as well as relieve Bill.
"That's understandable. Controlling these powers are not as easy as I thought it was going to be either. I sometimes zap myself and others from time-to-time. Don't worry! I know not to zap you! That would be painful!"
Bill couldn't tell if Witch was too trusting or stupid, but he rolled along with it. He was lucky that Witch didn't pick up on anything. Witch turned her attention to Inferno who was struggling to sit up.
"Oh, no, where do you think you're going?" Witch asked as she held her hand to have her wand return to her.
"Away from you, that's for sure" Inferno answered with a glare.
As Witch and Siren ran to him, Wizard teleported in front of him and was bowing to the girls.
"I believe we are finished" Wizard answered as he laughed and stood up.
He waved his hand down with green lighting sparking from it. He raised his hand and snapped as lighting burst from his hand to flash before himself and Inferno. They disappeared as Witch groaned while Siren remained quiet.
"Well, I guess we shouldn't worry too much" Witch said with a shake of her head, "We did do the best we could. Let's head back to our jobs and meet up later"
"Ok, sure" Siren answered warmly as she could.
Witch created her wings and then flew back to the library. Siren glanced to her before using the water to carry her back to her labs.
"Ugh! What is wrong with me?!" Randy exclaimed as he grabbed his head and sat up.
"Do you want the list?" Howard asked unamused as he was flipping through some papers while eating some cookies.
"That's not what I mean, and you know it!" Randy said as he glared at his friend, "Something isn't right, and I can't put my finger on it"
He sat back down and tried to focus on his work, but he couldn't think of the reason. Why did he have this nagging feeling that something wasn't right. He slumped forward as he looked at the computer screen at the animation he was making.
"Maybe this is something I need to ask the Nomicon" he whispered at the idea to himself.
"Are you sure? That book seems to be nothing but trouble" Howard pointed out as Randy rolled his eyes at him.
"It is an ancient book of warrior wisdom" Randy explained annoyed, "I need that book to teach me how to be a better hero and understand whatever threat is coming. I think this feeling that is gripping at my chest is supposed to warn me of something dangerous coming!"
He groaned when he noticed Howard was not paying attention to him. Well, if Howard wasn't going to listen to him, he wondered if Theresa would listen to him. He closed his laptop and then went to her office to find her reading a few papers about the heroes and heroines.
Randy smirked as he teased, "Would miss reporter like a personal interview?"
She jumped, laughed, and answered, "I believe Sam already stated she was going to interview them. What brings you here?"
Randy pulled up a chair and sat next to her. He was holding a thoughtful expression before shaking his head.
"It is a little odd" he said slowly, "But I know something isn't right here. Something is wrong, or well, something dangerous is coming"
Theresa stopped reading her report and looked at him curiously.
"Does it scare you?" she asked simply and looked at him calmly.
"Yes" he answered with a nod of his head, "Something isn't right, and that's what scaring me. If something dangerous is coming, then I should be prepared for it. At the same time, I don't know what I am going to face. I am thinking about asking Nomicon for the reason, but I also don't know if that's ok"
Theresa simply nodded her head as she pondered her next choice of words. She wasn't sure how she could help since he's a chosen hero, but she is trying.
"Well, at least you're talking about this" Theresa said warmly, "I thought you would've kept this all in"
"No, mother said to always talk about something that troubles you. Even if it doesn't make any sense. Emotions are tricky to say the least" he answered her and then leaned his head on her shoulder.
She was flushed as she looked at him with a curious expression. Randy held a peaceful expression as he sighed in content.
"Thanks, Theresa" he answered warmly, "I needed that"
She smiled as she tried to calm her blush and patted his head. They were sitting quietly until the door opened and Julian entered the room.
"Theresa! I require your assistance!" Julian announced until he stopped to see Randy with her.
"Oh? Right now?" she asked as she glanced to Randy and then her friend.
"It's ok" Randy said as he raised his head and stretched, "I just needed someone to listen to me. I'll be fine. I know what to do. Thank you, Theresa"
He gave her head a kiss and then waved goodbye to Julian. Randy did feel a little better and refreshed too. Of course, he had to remind himself that he was going to meet with Nomicon when he arrives at his apartment. As for Theresa, her expression was a tint of red while her hand felt her head. She smiled and giggled a bit until she noticed Julian's hurt expression.
"Are you ok?" she asked as she composed herself, "What did you need help with?"
Julian clutched his fists at his side and tried to keep his electricity in check. Although he knew Theresa liked her boyfriend, Julian didn't. There was something about Randy that always rubbed him the wrong way.
"I want to draw out the Ninja" Julian informed her, "Tom was already hurt from the previous fight, so we are down a member. I want to take out the Ninja to make this as even as I can"
Theresa was concerned for her friend. She could see more lighting sparking from his hands. She knew her friend was nervous most of the time, but this was different. Was this him angry?
"Julian, you need to calm down first" Theresa said calmly as she waved her hands, "I understand that you are deeply worried about your friend but getting angry will not help anyone. You need to calm down and then think this through"
Why wasn't she just going along with his plan? Why wasn't she just agreeing with him?! Why?! She gasped as more green lightning was bursting from his hands! Theresa slowly backed away and then ran pass him to reach the door. She rammed herself against it to open it and ran away!
"Where are you going?!" Julian yelled as he transformed and went after her.
Randy was walking back until he heard Theresa scream and turned around. He made sure no one could see him and transform into the Ninja. He continued to run until she ran into him. Ninja held her shoulders as he saw her shaking in place.
"What happened?" he asked calmly as he gently held her shoulders.
Before she could answer, electricity burst form the lights as Ninja covered her. The lights shattered as she screamed.
"Never mind, I think I got it" Ninja answered seriously as he pulled her behind him when the Wizard arrived.
"Ah it seems she was able to lure you out of hiding" Wizard said as he hovered above the ground with lighting sparking from his hands, "Tell me, Ninja, how do you want to perish?"
"Aw shucks, I didn't realize you were looking for me" Ninja said with a smirk and bow, "But please, I always come to help someone in danger. If you wanted to be defeated by me, you should've said so!"
He threw two sais as Wizard created a shield of lighting to protect himself. Ninja pushed Theresa into a room and lunged to tackle Wizard! They hit the ground, rolled towards the glass windows, and crashed through it! Theresa gasped as she rushed to the broken windows and saw them falling!
"Ninja!" she shouted as she hoped someone would hear her and help him.
He grabbed Wizard by his collar while Wizard gripped his wrists to hold him. They were not giving up and were fighting each other as the ground was approaching.
"Do you want to give up?" Ninja asked as he didn't seem phased by their situation.
"Not until I've defeated you!" Wizard snarled in reply.
They continued to fight with each other until a powerful rushed of water caught them! The water dropped Ninja who landed on his feet. He was the on his hands and knees. He pulled his mask up to his nose and mouth and coughed out some water. He raised his head to find Wizard still being held by the water. He lowered his gaze to find Siren holding her hand out and holding Wizard!
"Wait stop!" Ninja shouted as he ran to Siren and grabbed her hands.
"Why?" she asked confused.
"He's going to drown! That's gonna to kill him!" Ninja answered seriously.
Siren froze again as she struggled. Lapis was able to gain control and release the Wizard. The Wizard gasped in pain as he fell to his knees. Ninja rushed and helped him get most of the water out of his system. He glanced to Siren who seemed to be struggling and wondered what she was thinking.
"Stop hurting my friends!" Lapis yelled strongly as she and Bill were standing in mind and fighting each other.
Bill was floating around her mind as he effortlessly avoided her incoming water attacks.
"He wasn't your friend, so does it really matter what happens to him?" Bill asked with a shrug as he barely avoided another water attack.
Bill noticed Lapis was getting tired quickly. He raised a brow and then casually tossed a cosmic sphere towards her. She gasped as she raised her hands to create a wall of water, but the sphere shattered her water wall to strike her! She gasped as she was sent flying and then landed on the stain glass station with a thud.
"Ah..." she groaned in pain as Bill laughed.
"Did you really think you can stop me?! Your powers are NOTHING!" Bill said as he burst into flames for the latter half of his sentence.
Lapis struggled to sit up and glare at him until she lost consciousness again, "I'm so sorry..."
Bill stretched as he taunted, "Ah, that was a nice workout. She was trying her best, but her best isn't good enough! Just like most politicians!"
He prepared to take control of her again, but he glanced at her. He did have to admit, she was putting up a fight. He wondered how long she will fight him. He was used to humans just giving up and surrendering their control to him. Why was she still fighting him?
"Eh, I'll cross the bridge when I get there" Bill shrugged off as he took control of Lapis again.
Ninja continued to rub Wizard's back and help him get most of the water out of Wizard's system.
"It's ok, it's ok" Ninja reassured him gently, "You're safe"
Wizard looked at him surprised as he coughed out some more water. Wizard couldn't understand this. Why was the Ninja being nice when all he did was try to kill him?
"Why?" Wizard groaned as he covered his face with his left hand.
"Why what?" Ninja asked as he tilted his head to the right side.
"Why are you being kind to me? I want to kill you" Wizard answered annoyed as he glared through his hand.
Well, when Ninja heard that from Wizard, Ninja didn't want to help him. However, Ninja shook his head.
"Because you're still human and a person" Ninja answered as he sat on the ground and continued to rub Wizard's back, "Sure, you are my enemy, but you have friends and those who care about you. Yeah, we don't get along, but we do care about others and want what is best for them. That's why we are doing this, right?"
Wizard was surprised. He assumed the Ninja was an idiot who would charge into a fight without thinking. He was wrong. Ninja was a caring person who wants to help others and works hard to make sure his friends are safe. Wizard sighed as he sat up and groaned when he wrapped his hands around his stomach.
"Are you ok?" Ninja asked curiously as he held his hands at his sides.
"Yes. I am rather annoyed is all" Wizard confessed, "I believe you to be a complete and utter idiot. It turns out I was wrong about you. You're not that stupid"
Ninja laughed at him as he answered, "You're not the first to say that! Trust me! My friends and mothers say that all the time! Haha!"
Wizard raised a brow at him and found it rather odd that he was laughing when Wizard just insulted him.
"It is good to laugh at yourself from time-to-time!" Ninja answered with a grin, "But you're not wrong either. I am stupid, but I am glad you can see more than that in me. Thanks, Wizard! Hopefully, we can work together in the future!"
Ninja held out his hand to Wizard who was now silenced. This was new to him. Wizard did not expect this kindness from Ninja and wanted to take his hand. Perhaps Theresa was right. Maybe the Ninja wasn't too bad.
"Oh, no you don't!" Businessman screeched as Ninja stood up.
Ninja prepared for a fight as Siren finally snapped out of her trance and rushed to his side.
"It is two against one little man" Ninja taunted, "I don't think you can handle this"
"Can I?" Businessman asked as he gripped his blue stone.
Bill could feel such intense rage and anger from him. Bill was pleased with this and kept this in mind if he needed to abandoned Lapis' body. As for the Businessman, he created a powerful spell that created many copies of himself!
"Ok, this is new" Ninja confessed unsure as he wondered if he could anything like this.
"How shall we proceed?" Siren asked as she held her hands up to have water floating at her sides.
"You're asking me?!" Ninja exclaimed surprised and delighted, "Well, I am rarely in charge of anything! This will be good!"
Businessman rolled his eyes at them and snapped his fingers to cast many bolts of lightning! Ninja jumped and dodged while Siren created a water sphere around herself and Wizard for protection.
"Get out of my way!" Businessman snarled as he continued his attack.
Ninja continued to dodge until one bolt struck his back! He let out a scream as Siren used her water to catch him and bring him into the sphere.
"Are you ok?" she asked with concern as she gently placed him on the ground.
"I think so. That stung" Ninja answered annoyed as he glanced at his back to see the burnt mark.
He could feel his powers healing him and trying to cover the wound as fast as it could, but it stung painfully. He wasn't sure if he could fight like this. Siren observed the wound and Bill wasn't going to do anything about it. He's the villain and wants to spread chaos. If the Ninja falls to his wounds, then that would be one less hero for him to worry about.
"I'll go" Wizard answered as strongly as he could while standing up.
"Are you sure?" Ninja asked as he looked up at Wizard.
Wizard took a breath in, crossed his arms over his chest, and answered, "I still don't like you. I doubt I will, but who knows what the future holds really. However, you did save my life. I should return the favor to you at the least, Ninja"
Ninja was surprised along with Bill. Bill expected Wizard to attack the Ninja when hie was injured. Bill found this very odd and annoying. He didn't like this. Ninja was surprised at Wizard who stepped out of the sphere and walked to Businessman.
"Let's go, Businessman" Wizard announced seriously as Businessman clapped his hands to form himself again.
"Are you sure?" Businessman asked in a little angry tone, "We could defeat them"
Wizard took a passing glance at them and then shook his head.
"No, it wouldn't be a good idea. If we take them out now, the other three will come after us. Inferno is still down" Wizard explained as Businessman did agree with him.
"Very well. Back to the base" Businessman ordered as Wizard gathered some green lightning and teleported themselves away in a flash.
Siren made the sphere of water flow and wash to the sewers as she then helped Ninja stand up. His wound wasn't too present, but he could feel the pain. However, he was still grinning at Wizard. Although Wizard and him were fighting each other, Ninja had a feeling Wizard and him will work together one day.
"Thanks Siren" Ninja said with a grin, "But we should head back to work. We shouldn't keep our coworkers worried!"
Siren only nodded her head as she let him go. They returned to their work, but Randy was pleased to have at least tried to talk with Wizard.
"Do you think Dr. Flynn ever looks at our inventions and blueprints?" Danny asked as he was fixing up a broken robot.
"I honestly don't know" Turcker answered as he was writing another blueprint, "I never thought about it since he pays well and tries his best to listen to his employees"
"Fair enough" Danny answered in an agreeing tone and went back to work.
As they continued to work, their doors to the lab opened as the Pines Twins entered.
"Mabel! You might need to be protected! That is all I am saying!" Dipper expressed in a worrying tone.
"Dipper! Please I can handle myself!" Mabel answered annoyed as she opened her backpack to pull out a grapple gun, "I have a grapple gun! Our great uncle made this! I am sure that I will be safe!"
"Where did you get that?" Tucker asked with concern as Danny was more interested in helping with their argument.
"And why are you worried for Mabel's safety?" Danny asked as he pushed himself away from his work and sat up.
Tucker went after Mabel who was running around with the grapple gun. Danny faced Dipper who was holding a worried expression. Dipper took out his phone to search for something and then pressed his thumbs on a video.
"The Businessman is still out there, and we know he is working for Gideon. I just don't want anything to happen to Mabel. She's my only sister and my best friend" Dipper answered with concern as he lowered his phone, "And each day the villains have appeared and attacked our home. I just don't see my little sister being safe anymore"
Danny held a small smile as he understood what Dipper was feeling. Danny recalled his protective nature over his big sister. He understood Dipper's concern and pondered on what he could do.
"Oh, I got an idea" Danny said as he went to get his phone and text his big sister, "I think she can help us. Just wait here and do your homework until she's here"
Dipper was curious, but he went to a desk to do his homework while Tucker and Mabel were chasing each other. Danny went back to his work and was mostly finished with his work. After a few minutes, there was a knock at a door as Danny looked up.
"Ah! She's here!" Danny said as he opened the door and nearly tripped at the site of his big sister talking with Sam!
"What are you doing?!" Danny asked surprised as he tried to compose himself.
"Talking with Sam. She's a nice girl! Totally your style" Jazz answered with a grin as Danny could feel his face flushing.
"SAM!" Mabel yelled in delight as she jumped from Tucker's grasp to tackle Sam.
"Oof! Nice to see you too, Mabel!" Sam groaned as she patted the little girl's head and pushed her off, "What are you doing here?'
Mabel scowled as she glared at her twin brother, "Staying safe and away from danger"
"Ah, right, the reason I called you, Jazz. I was wondering if you could watch the twins for a bit. I figured it would be better if they were with someone responsible and could keep them out of harms' way until Tucker and I are done or Dr. Pines" Danny explained to her as she grinned.
"Sure thing! I can handle that" Jazz said as she kneeled to Dipper's side, "You were just worried about your sister, right?"
Dipper nodded his head as he tried to stop his blush from forming too big and to not say anything too ridiculous. Jazz smiled and nodded her head in understanding.
"I used to be the same. Or, well, I am still the same. I worry about Danny all the time!" Jazz reassured him as she looked at her little brother who was happily chatting with Tucker and Sam, "But he's doing fine, so I shouldn't have to worry too much. I am sure you will feel the same with Mabel one day"
Dipper only nodded his head as Jazz ruffled his hair and stood up.
"Ok, you terrible twins, let's go" Jazz announced with a grin, "We will explore the town in a safe manner while having fun!"
"Really?!" Mabel exclaimed excitedly as Sam glanced at pile of blueprints and machines on the ground.
"Yeah, and I am going with you" Sam added nervously, much to Tucker's surprise.
"I thought you didn't enjoy kids too much?" Tucker whispered concerned.
"I don't, but I can't leave Jazz to handle them alone. She's going to need help" Sam replied nervously as she held a nervous expression.
"Yes! BEST DAY EVER! COME ON, SAM!" Mabel exclaimed as she grabbed Sam's wrist tightly and ran out of the lab.
Sam let out a scream as Danny and Tucker were worried for their friend. Jazz shrugged as she held out her hand to Dipper.
"Let's get going" Jazz said with a grin, "We don't want to keep them waiting"
Dipper nodded his head and covered his blushing face with his hat as he walked with her. Danny and Tucker watched them leave before going back to work to finish for the day.
"Do you think they will be ok?" Tucker asked as he went to his desk to finish another blueprint.
"Yeah. Jazz can handle anything that is thrown at her. There is a reason she went to both law school and medical school and is now getting her master's degree too" Danny answered with a wave of his hand and went back to fixing up the machine again, "We have nothing to worry about"
He was mostly right. Everything started out relatively normal and peaceful. Mabel wanted to have some ice cream and had already pulled Sam with her to Cinnamon Chai's Tea and Cake shop.
"Do you have money?" Sam asked as Mabel smashed her face against the glass window and drooled at the site of the ice cream.
Jazz and Dipper entered, and Dipper ran to Mabel to pull her off the window.
"Mabel, you know better. You don't want your face frozen against it again, do you?" Dipper asked as he stared at her.
"Oh, I was going to pull my face off it soon. I just love how close it is to my face!" Mabel answered excitedly.
Dipper groaned as Jazz couldn't help but laugh at them.
"Wow! They're so different and yet, they remind me of me and Danny when we were kids" Jazz said with a grin as she walked up to them, "Ok, tell me which ones you want. It is on me! That goes for you too, Sam!"
Sam was surprised as Jazz grinned at her.
"Alright! I am going to have the most toppings on mine!" Sam encouraged warmly.
Mabel cheered as she rushed to Jazz's side to order her ice cream. Dipper and Jazz waited for Sam and Mabel to order first before ordering their ice creams. Just as Sam said, she did have a lot of toppings on her chocolate ice cream. Her toppings were cookies, chocolate syrup, and chocolate bars. Mabel was cotton candy in a waffle cone. She has a ton of sprinkles and marshmallows.
"Isn't that too much sugar?" Dipper asked as he waited to receive his.
Mabel took a spoon from the cup on the counter, stuck it in her ice cream, and took a piece from it. She then struck a piece of it into Dipper's mouth! He struggled to breath for a bit and swallowed the ice cream. He took in some deep breaths and glared at her.
"Who doesn't love sugar?!" Mabel exclaimed as she continued to eat her ice cream in delight.
She rushed out of the store with Sam laughing and following her. Dipper scowled as she left. Jazz could only smile at him and went to grab the ice creams for herself and him. She handed Dipper his vanilla ice cream. She held her cookies and cream ice cream as she paid the cashier for this.
"Come on, Dipper" Jazz said warmly as she motioned to the door, "We shouldn't keep them waiting"
Dipper simply nodded his head and followed her. They walked out of the shop and went to catch up with them. Mabel was talking with Sam about something loud and excitedly in her loud voice. Jazz ate her ice cream in delight, but she noticed Dipper was simply licking his and looking dismayed.
"You ok?" Jazz asked curiously as she looked at him curiously.
"I think so" Dipper answered in an unsure tone.
"Do you want to talk about it? I can always listen and give advice when you need it" Jazz offered warmly.
Dipper turned away and nodded his head. Jazz gestured to a bench as Sam glanced to her. Jazz nodded to her as Jazz went to sit with Dipper on a metal bench in front of the shop. She continued to eat hers while Dipper was staring at his.
"Hey, you should eat it before it melts and our conversation finishes" Jazz suggested as she continued to eat hers.
"Right, but mine is so different" he answered as he looked at his twin sister's ice cream, "Mine's plain and hers is colorful. Because of that, she has more friends and gains so much attention. I'm always behind her and trying to make sure she is safe. Now, that seems impossible"
Jazz nodded her head as she said, "Ok, now you eat yours while I talk. First off, I understand this. I was like this with Danny a lot. He was more fragile and emotional too. However, I also had to step back and let him do what he needs to do. There will be a day when I won't be here to defend him all the time"
Dipper looked to her as he took a bite of his ice cream.
"But what if they can't handle it?" Dipper asked nervously as he clutched his ice cream in his hands.
"Hopefully, they will ask. If not, then try to help them by offering it. It is never easy, but it is important to listen and support each other when you need to. You and your sister are at the point where you're going to have to find that balance. It also helps with having some friends from time-to-time as well" Jazz answered as she winked and ate hers again.
Dipper stared at her surprised as he understands this.
"Don't think too hard on this. It is never easy. Also, your ice cream is melting" Jazz pointed out as Dipper looked at his hands to see the ice cream melting in his bowl.
He was surprised and then went to eat it as Jazz grinned. They ate together as Dipper finally held a relieved smiled. As for Mabel, she looked at her brother and sighed at him.
"You ok?" Sam asked surprised as she found Mabel's silence new.
"Yes and no" Mabel answered as she took one big, final bite from her ice cream, "Dipper's worrying so much about me that I am worrying about him"
"Really?" Sam asked curiously.
"Dipper is always smarter than me in everything. He knows what to do in almost any situation. He always adds me into the plans too! I just want to make sure he's doing ok too. I can handle myself too. I know Dipper's worried about Gideon, but I can stand up against him. I just want Dipper to calm down and take time for himself" Mabel exclaimed as she looked at her purple shoes.
Sam nodded her head and leaned against a streetlamp as she finished her ice cream.
"Well, do you two have anyone else?" Sam asked curiously.
"Oh, yeah! I have Candy and Grenda! Pacifica too, but she's out of town" Mabel answered with a nod of her head as she smiled at the thought of them, "Why?"
"Well, does Dipper have any friends?" Sam asked with a curious and knowing expression.
"Pacifica, kind of. The two of them do work well together. Why? Oh..." Mabel answered sadly as she slowly understood what Sam meant, "He really only has me"
"Yeah, so it does make sense why he does worry about you. You're his twin sister and best friend. He doesn't want anything bad to happen to you. Gideon is a pain in the butt, so I get why he is concerned about that. Also, I understand you want your own space. You're both growing up. So, you should get some space. Just don't cut him out of your life, ok?" Sam advised her warmly as she thought about Danny and Tucker.
Mabel's eyes were wide, sparkling with admiration, and gasping. Sam grinned at her as she looked at Jazz and Dipper who were happily talking with each other.
"So, do you want to tell him now, or later?" Sam asked, "I will be there to help you if you want"
"Really?!" Mabel exclaimed as she jumped to grab Sam's hands.
"Sure, but you have to do the talking. I will give you support" Sam answered with a nod of her head and gently held Mabel's hand instead of her death grip.
"Thank you, Sam! I needed that" Mabel said in relief, "We can talk with Dipper about it later. I want to enjoy this for now"
"Got it, but do not hold off on it too long" Sam reminded her.
Mabel nodded her head in agreement as they began to talk with each other warmly about their interests. Jazz and Dipper decided to rejoin and talk with them. The group happily talked with each other as the twins were slowly talking with each other warmly. Jazz and Sam stepped away from them slowly as they continued to walk around the city.
"Think that helped them?" Sam whispered curiously.
"I hope so" Jazz answered warmly, "But I believe so. After all, siblings will always find a way to help each other somehow. It happens somehow"
Sam nodded her head from side to side as she understood her logic a bit.
"Now, why don't we have some girl talk?" Jazz suggested with a wink, "So, got any admirers or ideas for your songs?"
"Admirers? Nope! No one comes to mind!" Sam answered that part quickly as she thought about her songs, "I've got a few ideas for it. Mainly a catchy tone about the structures and main flaws of democracy while also adding a louder chorus about how it should be fixed"
Jazz pondered on Sam's song and agreed with it. Jazz gave her inputs to help Sam's songs as she silently agreed with herself that Danny would have a great relationship with her. As they were preoccupied with chatting amongst themselves and walking around as they happen to cross Gideon's building. He was walking about his company and observing his employees, making sure they were creating his image well and that he wasn't losing any money.
"Keep working" he ordered as his employees whimpered in fear and continued to work.
He grumbled at their weak behavior. He was not going to lose his funds when he was so close to obtaining his wish.
"Almost there. Soon, she will be mine along with this pathetic city as well" Gideon vowed to himself as he was looking at his bowtie.
However, he caught the reflection of Mabel, gasped, and turned to see her happily chatting with her twin brother and being followed by Sam and Jazz. Gideon stared at the energetic Mabel who was happily sharing her joys with them.
"She will be mine!" he vowed before stepping outside of the building and rushed after them.
"And then I bedazzled my face! I have a photo! I will show it to you!" she exclaimed in delight as Sam cheered her on while Jazz was slightly concerned.
Dipper reassured them with a way of his hand that this was normal and nothing to be concerned about.
"To be honest, she does this a lot. It is fun to see, even if it is impossible and painful looking" Dipper answered with a nervous expression.
"You're just jealous, because you can't pull it off!" Mabel answered proudly.
"Sure, let's call it that" Dipper replied with a grin.
As they laughed, they heard someone yelling in frustration. They turned around to see Gideon! He was clutching his hands and looking down in a frustrated manner.
"Gideon?!" the twins asked surprised as Jazz stood between them and him.
"What are you doing here?" Jazz asked seriously with her arms crossed over her chest and holding herself up.
Gideon growled at Jazz. How dare she stand in his way! Dipper looked at his sister who was holding an annoyed expression of her own. She wasn't too pleased to see him at all and neither was he.
"Who are you to stand in my way to my love?!" Gideon demanded as he pointed at Jazz.
Sam quickly pulled out her phone in case anything was about to happen.
"Because this is completely messed up and not ok. Mabel does not want to be with you. She doesn't have the same feelings as you. Please respect her choice and leave her alone" Jazz said seriously.
She was not going to move at all while the twins were standing behind her. Sam wasn't sure why, but she got a troubling feeling about this. Gideon was shaking in place from anger. He did not enjoy being defied! No, he will not be defied!
"She belongs to me!" Gideon yelled as he unleashed a powerful wave of energy to blow them back!
Sam's eyes were wide as Gideon transformed into the Businessman! She glanced to the twins who were behind them and holding onto each other. It did hit Sam fully that the Businessman's true identity is Gideon! That does explain a few things about their investments.
"Gideon?!" the twins said surprised as Jazz picked herself up and stood in front of the twins.
"Sam get the twins far away from here" Jazz whispered seriously.
"What about you? I can't just leave you!" Sam whispered in a disagreeing tone, "Danny's not going to like this either"
"But those heroes will show up. I am sure they will come in and stop him from doing anything dangerous" Jazz reassured her warmly, "Besides I promised Danny I wouldn't let anything happen to them, and I plan to keep it"
Sam sighed as she realized where Danny's stubbornness came from. Despite that, she also knows that Danny will jump in and save her as soon as he hears this.
"Fine, but you better be ok!" Sam shouted as she turned to the twins, "C'mon! We've got to go!"
Dipper and Mabel nodded as they ran behind Sam who held her phone out to take a photo of Businessman, Jazz, and herself and sent it Danny.
"Oh, no you don't! You will not get away from me!" Businessman exclaimed as he held his hand to have his powers gather to it.
Jazz stood between them with her arms out.
"You're not going to get them!" she said seriously as Businessman growled.
"Then I'll take you with me!" Businessman exclaimed as he used his powers to grab her and hold her in the air.
Jazz gasped and then screamed as she found herself floating in the air and being held by him! Sam ran to Randy's house and made sure that the twins were safe inside. She then checked her phone to see if Danny saw the image.
Danny was working on his final project as Tucker was finally finishing his last blueprint for the day. He stretched for a bit and looked to the side to see Danny's phone buzzing. Tucker picked it up and handed it to Danny.
"You've got a text from Sam" Tucker said calmly.
Danny dropped his tools and went to Tucker's side, excitedly. His smile was soon serious as he opened his phone to see an imagine of Sam running with the Businessman holding his big sister!
"Are you going to be ok?" Tucker asked as he noticed Danny's fists were clenched.
"No, but I will make sure she's safe" Danny answered as Tucker turned off the cameras to allow Danny to transform into the Phantom.
He phased through the walls and then flew to save his big sister from Businessman. He flew to the fight and saw Businessman holding his big sister in his magic. Phantom kept himself invisible as he coated his hand in ice.
"Time for you to cool off" Phantom whispered as he then placed his hand on Businessman's head to freeze it!
Businessman let out a screech and tried to find the source of the cold. Phantom flew upward to avoid him and then dove to wrap his arms around his big sister's waist to pull her away from the Businessman!
"Woah!" Jazz exclaimed as Phantom relived himself to her!
"You!" Businessman exclaimed as he pointed at them and cast his magic.
"This is going to be bumpy, so please hang on!" Phantom informed as he flew upward.
"What do you mean?!" Jazz said as she screamed when they were flying towards another building.
She was screaming as she held onto him who continued to fly towards a building. He glanced over his shoulder to see the Businessman growling and creating another spell in his hands. He created a spell to hover after them. Phantom began to think of a way to get his big sister away from the fight. He gently landed on the roof a building and struggled to place his big sister on it.
"Miss please! Stop struggling! You're safe!" Phantom struggled to say as he was soon on the ground with her on his stomach.
"Oh? Uh, thank you" she said as she recovered for a moment and sighed in relief.
She got off him and sat up in relief. Phantom was relieved as he was panting heavily. He was pleased that his big sister was safe.
"Hey, are you ok?" Jazz asked as she looked over his face.
He opened his eyes to look at his sister's concerned expression. He waved his hands and nodded his head.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little tired" Phantom said as he sat up and checked his powers to make sure he still has enough strength to fight.
"There you are!" Businessman exclaimed in a frustrated manner and cast a powerful, light blue magic.
Phantom held his arms out in front of Jazz. Phantom's hand glowed a white light as ice was coming from it. He and Businessman then cast their ice and magical spells at each other! Phantom and Jazz were blasted away as Businessman created a light blue shield around himself for protection. He saw Phantom on the ground and away from Jazz, so Businessman flew to grab Jazz!
"Hey! Let me go!" Jazz shouted as he grabbed her wrist.
Phantom looked up and growled when he saw Businessman holding his big sister. He could feel ice covering his hands.
"Don't you dare move!" Businessman snapped as Phantom and Jazz stopped and stared at him, "I've worked so hard for this! I will get my wish!"
"But why do you need to wish?" Jazz asked seriously as she faced him, "You already have so much. What more do you want?"
"What more do I want? I want love and power! That is rightfully mine!" Businessman exclaimed in a frustrated manner.
"You have that!" Phantom interjected, "You run a successful company that is making more money than we can possibly imagine as well as bringing so much entertainment. What else could you possibly want?"
Businessman snapped his fingers to strike Phantom with a light blue spell! Phantom grunted and was knocked into the wall! Jazz gasped as he fell on his knees and gasped in pain.
"Enough! You will never understand what I want" Businessman said as he gathered another light blue gathered to his hand to cast it at Phantom again.
Phantom's eyes were wide as he gasped at Businessman. Suddenly, water washed down on Businessman! He let go of Jazz as Phantom rushed to catch and pull her away from the water.
"Are you ok?" Phantom asked Jazz as he gently placed her on her feet and gasped in a tired manner.
"Yes, but are you going to be ok? And what is happening?" she asked worriedly as she checked on him.
He simply nodded his head as Siren used her powers to carry herself onto the roof and stand at his side.
"Siren! That was you!" Phantom said surprised.
"Yes. I saw the fighting occurring in the distance" she answered as she held her hand out to have the water hold Businessman in.
Businessman cast his magic to create a light, blue sphere around himself in the water. He struggled to break free as Siren continued to hold him in place.
"Freeze him" Siren suggested to Phantom.
"What?" Phantom asked surprised as he looked at her.
"If we freeze him, we can stop him" Siren answered simply.
Phantom's eyes were wide with shock as Jazz gasped with her hands over her mouth.
"No, we can't do that" Phantom said as he shook his head and then rushed to the water.
He jumped between the water and Businessman. He placed his hands into the water to freeze it! Siren was surprised as she stopped casting her water. Phantom sighed in relief as he fell to his knees. Businessman was surprised to see that Phantom protecting him.
"Phantom!" Jazz exclaimed with concern as Businessman broke his sphere and hovered above the ground.
She helped him sit up as Siren forcefully held herself back again, but this was weaker than last time.
"Stop interfering!" Bill exclaimed as he used his powers to grab Lapis forcefully to push her to the ground.
She gasped as the chains were holding and restraining her powers. She was still trapped in her mind and still trying to struggle against Bill. As for Bill, he was not giving up on his plan. He grew bigger and clutched his hand to squeeze her tightly! She whimpered in pain as she then screamed.
"I will make sure you stop interfering with my plans once and for all!" he vowed and used his powers to try and stop her.
Phantom blinked a couple of times as he looked at Siren. He noticed she was struggling in place.
"What?" he whispered surprised as Businessman decided to escape before they could do anything.
Phantom decided to let it go and focus on Siren. Something wasn't right about her. He gently put Jazz away from him.
"Are you ok?" she asked while looking up at him.
"I'll be fine. I know you'll help us" Phantom answered weakly as he approached Siren and gently placed his hands over her shoulders, "Siren, I can help you if you just let me in"
He looked at her bracelet as he sighed. He wasn't sure if this was a good idea, but he didn't have time to think through it now. He used his right hand to hold the bracelet and then searched for her.
"Woah!" Danny exclaimed as he fell through the a few layers to see a beautiful, blue stain glass circle before him.
He used his ice powers to create a slide of ice and snow to land on safely. Bill pulled Lapis to his side and hovered away from Danny. Danny picked himself up and looked in a surprised manner to see Bill holding Lapis!
"Who are you?" Danny asked surprised and tense with ice covering his hands, preparing for a fight.
He was ready to fight Bill who sighed at the site of him.
"Another hero. I am surprised that you were able to discover something was wrong with her inner psychological world" Bill commended as he looked down on him.
"Daniel! Please get out of here! He's the source of the chaos! This is Bill! You have to warn the others!" Lapis warned as Bill growled and clutched his hands to squeeze her.
She whimpered in pain as Danny didn't hesitate to cast a beam of ice towards them. Bill created a shield in front of him to deflect his ice attack.
"Your only using distant attacks. That robot did that before, but you seem like you would benefit for it. Well, your missed opportunity is my opportunity!" Bill said as he created a purple sphere.
Lapis was able to gather water in her hand as she glanced to Danny. She has to get him out of her mind and away from Bill.
"Get out of my mind!" Lapis exclaimed as she waved her hand to cast a powerful wave of water to wash Danny away!
"Lapis! Wait!" Danny shouted as he tried to reach out to her.
"Get out!" Lapis exclaimed as she used her fading strength to cast him out of her mind.
She fell unconscious in Bill's grip. Bill threw Lapis on her stain glass circle as the chains tightened on her wrists and ankles. She was resting and exhausted from using so much of her powers. Bill scowled as he threw his sphere on the stain glass. He couldn't believe she had enough strength to cast someone out of her mind, but at the same time, he knew she couldn't cast someone who knew the workings of the inner psychological world.
"You win this round, Siren" Bill admitted, "But it will not be enough to stop me. I will be free. I will be released from my prison and claim this world as my own!"
Phantom was knocked back and crashed onto the ground again. He grunted in pain as he slowly struggled to keep his hero form and keep his powers in check.
"Phantom!" Jazz exclaimed as she rushed to help him stand up.
"Miss please get away from this place" Phantom said calmly, "I need to help my friend, even if it might hurt me"
Phantom lunged forward to gather ice and lunged to grab Siren. He used his powers to freeze himself and her to the ground! A powerful, white light shined above the roof. He was hoping someone could reach them and stop and help Siren. Jazz gasped as she quickly hid behind the entrance to the building and covered her head.
"Uh, KP, I think we have a slight problem" Ron said as he was looking out the window to see the white light.
He was reading something for Wade as he pointed to it. Kim was reading a few documents to help Vanessa, but when Kim looked up and gasped.
"That's Danny" she whispered as Ron took her notes and nodded his head.
"Go and help him. I've got this!" he encouraged seriously.
Kim grinned and opened the window. She checked to make sure no one was looking and tapped her bracelet. She took a running start, jumped, and transformed! Ron contained his screaming as he looked out the window and saw her reaching for her belt to then taking a grapple gun. She took aim and used it to swing herself towards the white light.
"Hang on, Phantom. I am almost there" she whispered seriously as Phantom continued to hold Siren in place.
He stared at her shaking form as he tried to make sense of her situation. That being in her mind was something dangerous, but how did it even appear there? What was it trying to accomplish? Well, he didn't care what it was doing. He wasn't going to leave Siren like this.
"Just hang in there" Phantom whispered to her in pain, "I promise, help is coming"
He struggled to stand and face her. He could feel his strength fading along with his powers. He wasn't sure how long he could keep this up until he transforms back into himself. He also knew Jazz was nearby. He couldn't let his big sister see him like this.
"Phantom! Siren!" Spy shouted as she landed on the roof behind him, "What is going on?"
She was surprised to see this situation before herself as Phantom glanced to her.
"There's something wrong with Siren. Something happened to her" Phantom answered in a struggling tone.
Spy cautiously approached them as she slowly formed an earth armor on her body.
"What do you want me to do?" Spy asked as Phantom wasn't sure.
Before Phantom could answer, Siren was able to regain control and answered, "Knock me out and get away from me"
"Siren!" Phantom and Spy said surprised.
"This being of chaos is strong. It wants to take over everything" Siren explained, "You have to get away before it takes control of everything"
"But we can't leave you!" Phantom objected.
"Yes, you can!" Siren exclaimed as she unleashed a powerful, wave of water!
Phantom let go of her hands and used his powers to freeze the incoming water.
"Spy! We have a person up here!" Phantom shouted as she went to find the person and saw Jazz hiding behind the entrance.
She rushed to grab Jazz and pull her behind her and Phantom. Bill internally and forcefully took control over Lapis and continued to cast wave after wave of water. Phantom couldn't keep up with the water and glanced to Spy. He trusted her to take care of him and his big sister until he could get back up on his feet.
"Spy, I am trusting you" Phantom said before yelling and unleashing a powerful burst of ice to freeze the water.
"What?!" Bill exclaimed as he then used the water to create a path for himself to escape on.
Spy created a wall of earth to protect herself and Jazz who was screaming. Once he finished his attack, he was standing still and panting heavily. Spy lowered her wall of earth and looked at her friend. He was wobbling a bit as he turned around to see Spy and his big sister.
"Thanks. I am sorry about this... Forgive me?" he asked in a shaky voice before collapsing against her and losing consciousness!
He was too tired to keep up his hero form and transformed into Danny! Jazz let out another scream as she looked at her exhausted and beaten younger brother as she then turned to Spy. Spy knew Jazz was going to demand answers from her, so Spy had to get her friends to Randy's townhome.
