Flame
"Puppet? What is this?" I ask, my voice bouncing off the walls in a strange echo.
The puppet turned around, it's beady white eyes looking me square in the eye.
"You said you wanted vengeance on Alton, did you not?"
The Puppet gestured it's arm in a presenting motion, where I'm placed into an unfamiliar room. There are a few arcade machines to my left, and a wall to my right. Dead ahead is the very suit that Afton murdered me, Kate, and countless others in. The smell of dried blood wasn't pleasant.
I take a step forward, but suddenly a door on the right opens, and in comes the man himself. He doesn't seem to notice me. His breathing is heavy and desperate. He frantically looks around, considering his options. Suddenly, four more figures walk into the room, all with the same look.
Children.
They were completely white in color, with empty eye sockets dripping black tears down their faces and bodies. They all turned towards me, and uttered one thing in unison.
"Finish it."
I blink once out of shock, and I realize I'm now much shorter. I look at my hands and see the same ghostly, white body they had. I put my fingers on my face and pulled them back. The tears were black. Five children, five murders, and I was one of them. I approached Afton, and never have I seen such fear in a man's face. He backed up constantly, as I reached out an arm. Suddenly, I wasn't moving my body anymore. It was moving before my brain was telling it was okay. My arm felt heavy, almost as if a thousand bricks had been laid upon it, like something was pulling me.
"N-No, stay back!" Afton stammered, stepping backwards, his ankle hitting the suit behind him. He looked down at the suit, then back at me. He opened the torso of the suit, the shell fitting him like a glove. He stands up, not without struggling because of the suit's weight. He then laughs at me and points. I couldn't get to him anymore. My arm finally goes down back to my side. I turned to the other children, seeing them block the exit. How was he going to get out?
Suddenly, in the middle of my thought process, the most bloodcurdling scream rang through my eardrums. I stumble backwards in shock, and I fall onto my back. I look back at Afton, and the sight I'm shown is so horrible. He must've either forgotten or triggered the springlock system. The hard plastic and rusty metal plunge into his skin as he screams. He falls forwards, a massive pool of blood emerging from beneath him.
"H-Help m-m-meeeeee!" his voice was terribly shaky, as I'm sure the locks penetrated his organs and such. Suddenly, the children start fully disappearing, me included. My vision enters the void, as my ears fill up with the sound of Afton crying out in pain.
I wake up with a massive gasp, as I'm put back in the golden suit I was once in. I hold my head in an attempt to remember what just happened. All that blood, and that scream, and I'm sure so much more. Suddenly I hear a metallic rip, as suddenly my hand plunges down from the top of my head. In my four-fingered hand was... an ear?
Hold on. I reach up to where my hand was a second ago and... yep, that was my ear. I drop the metallic piece on the floor and gaze at my hands. They had this greenish-black look to them, about ready to fall off their sockets. I try to stand up, but I quickly realize my left leg is completely shattered, but not off,
"P-Puppet?" I ask, my voice completely distorted.
"M-Max..."
I look up and look around.
"Puppet, where are you?"
"S-S-Save us...."
I lift my imaginary eyebrow. Save them? I didn't know what it was talking about. I use the wall to stand up, and I quickly realize that while my leg is still attached, I had no foot or back thigh, so I had to drag it around. I walk about four feet before I hear heavy metallic clanking, making me fall backwards in shock, again, making a heavy metallic crash. I crabwalk backwards until I'm at the wall, trying to breath as light as possible. I look towards the hallway in front of me, and see a very horrifying sight. A very grotesque figure passed by the doorway, peering inside the room I was in. It was a tattered, green bunny suit with holes everywhere and... human flesh or something inside of it. Their eyes were heavy, and they looked about ready to pass out. The heavy breathing they let out was distorted and shaky. They turned back ahead of them and continued walking.
Who. The heck. Was. That?
I stood up and went over to the door, peering outside. Whoever that was just left around the corner. I take a deep breath and step backwards.
"You don't recognize this place, do you?"
Puppet. I turn around and see the puppet, only it's a face was the same shade of green and black, and it's body was all ripped.
"No, I don't. Where are we?"
"I'll let you figure that out on your own. Farewell."
"Wait, puppet!"
The figure disappears from my vision. I sigh and look towards the hallway. I have to go out there, with whatever that thing is. I limp out the door, my leg dragging behind me. I look left, and then right. Right. I go down the hallway, but a sudden flickering light catches me off guard. I look to the source of it, and I see.. Freddy. Wait, no not, Freddy, just his head and his torso on some kind of metal coat rack or something. I walk up to it, the metal like continuing to flash in my face. I suddenly hear heavy clanking again, and I quickly hide behind a door. I peer through the crack between the door and the wall, seeing that bunny figure again, run up to the Freddy statue and knock it down in a tackle rush. It gets up and snarls.
"Where are you!?"
I didn't make a sound. He turned around and looked into the room I was in, but not the crack in the door.
"Damn ghosts...leave me alone!" it says again, knocking over a shelf full of glass. It all shatters when it hits the ground, making me wince. He gives the room one final stare, then walks off.
I come out from behind the door and take a deep breath. Whatever, whoever that is, they looked really dangerous. I continue my trek down the hallway, when suddenly I hear a voice.
"Hello?"
It was a child's voice. High pitched, and from the sounds of it, confused.
I turn around and see no one besides my own shadow.
I shrug and continue walking.
As I turn the next corner, I'm suddenly face-to-face with the bunny creature from earlier, and he's walking straight to me. I back up out of shock, thinking I was dead. I closed my eyes, ready for a blow, but nothing happened. I opened my eyes, only to see that it had passed through me like a ghost. It's like I was some sort of phantom. I turned around, and looked at him, walking away. That's who it was. Afton. That heavy breathing gave it away.
"Afton." I say.
The figure stops, and turns around. He looks right at me, but doesn't see me.
"....What? I thought I told you damn voices to leave me alone."
I don't respond.
He suddenly slams his fist against the wall, the dust fluttering off of the old building.
"Answer me!"
I keep quiet.
"Fine, keep bothering me for all eternity, you won't get anything out of it."
He walks away, his heavy footfalls returning.
What did he mean by all of eternity? And who's childish voice was on the PA?
I walk further down the hallway, finding arcade machines, old metal, rusted metal, and a bunch of old, dangly wires everywhere. This place was a mess. But what is this place?
I walked a bit further before my foot collided with something, kicking it out into the open. It was Foxy's hook arm, completely gone from his body. I pick up the limb and sigh. Foxy had always been a reject. Ever since he acted up in front of a few kids a couple years ago, Pirate's Cove was shut down. I drop the arm and keep walking, eventually reaching a room with a large window built into the wall. I walked past it, but suddenly, something started blaring. Red lights were flashing across the ceiling, and I heard someone frantically breathing from the other side of the glass. I hide behind the wall and gaze inside. It was some kind of security guard. He seemed to be really stressed. Why the heck would you work here with... that thing roaming around?
The alarms eventually stopped, and I heard something shifting around above me. I look up, only to see some kind of mangled figure above me. It's animatronic limbs were all messed up and in the wrong places. It's arm was attached to its lower knee, and it seemed to have two heads.
Some distorted sound started originating from its hanging jaw, and I quickly retreated, the sound hurting my ears and making my vision go blurry. I backed up into a bunch of the dangly wires, and out the other end, I came into another room, this time inside parts and service from Freddy's.
"Puppet!" I yell out. "Why are you making me see all of this?"
No response. I'm placed back into the old place, where suddenly, everything is ablaze. Old pieces of metal fall from the ceiling, bouncing off of me.
"Michael!" Afton's voice rang out. I heard a door slam, and Afton himself struggling to get out, slamming against every wall in existence. "Let me out, you bastard! You can't leave your own father!"
Father? That man inside the suit is a father? Hard to believe.
I grab Afton by the arm, and this time, when he looks my way he sees me.
"You..."
"Yeah, it's me. And you're not getting out of here alive!"
"Do you know how many years I spent, gazing at that golden bear suit, after you left me to die?!"
"You murdered me and countless others inside of that suit. It's only fitting that you die inside of it."
As we talk, the flames continue to build, eventually engulfing us both.
"Let go of me!"
"No, it's time for you to let go." I say, amidst the breaking remnants of the building. Afton's screams fill my ears as I'm consumed in flames...
