Chapter 34
"Here, take a map," Map Bot chirped, holding out the piece of paper to the group as they passed. Completely ignoring the robot, Pedro spun in a circle on his brand new legs as he cried, "Check it out Map Bot! I can walk!" The robot clapped his hands, showing his excitement for the boy. But once the whole group paraded by him without taking his map, he threw the paper down in frustration before zooming away.
"Dude, this is so cool! You can walk again! How does it feel?" Gregory asked as he skipped alongside Pedro. Biting his lip as he thought for a moment, the older child answered, "A little alien at first, it's been so long since I could actually walk. But it's exhilarating!" Trailing behind the children with Chica and Grace, Roxy's tail could not stop wagging as she mumbled, "He loves them."
"Of course he does. You did good Roxy," Chica pointed out as she patted her best friend on the shoulder. The wolf animatronic blushed at the comment. By now, the group arrived at the door of the daycare. Entering the room, Gregory leaned over the edge of the balcony and hollered, "Sundrop! Moondrop! Come quick, we got something to show you!"
"Ooh! Lemme see, lemme see!" Sundrop's clairvoyant voice sang out. Skipping up the steps, the sun themed animatronic stood before the group in all of his glory. "Hello everyone! What's the big news of the day?" he asked, extending his arms out in his normal dramatic way. Humming to himself, the tall robot leaned down towards Pedro and murmured, "Hm, you look different to me. Young man, did you get a haircut over at Roxy's Salon?"
"Nope! He got new legs!" Gregory chimed in, spoiling the surprise. A loud gasp escaping from his being as he raised up to his full height, Sundrop squealed in delight. "Oh my stars, that's wonderful! Moon, you've got to see this!" the Daycare Attendant exclaimed. Running over to the light switch, he turned off the lights and let his other side out. His red eyes glowing in the dark, Moon knelt down to inspect the endoskeleton legs. Tapping his finger against his chin, the moon themed animatronic remarked, "Functional and just a tad bit stylish. I like them."
"Thank you. I like them too, Mom got them for me," Pedro spoke, gesturing to Roxy standing behind him. A soft smile slowly spreading across her muzzle, the wolf animatronic leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on her son's forehead. Turning to the celestial themed animatronic, Gregory asked, "We're gonna show Freddy next! Have you seen him?"
"Freddy? Hm, I think he's still..." Moon's voice trailed off when he saw Chica and Roxy shaking their heads at him. Gulping nervously, the moon themed animatronic rubbed the back of his neck as he stuttered, "Eh, actually I don't know." Both Gregory and Pedro looked at each other with raised eyebrows. Okay, something was up. Shrugging his shoulders, Pedro murmured, "Let's go find Vanessa. She's probably in her office downstairs so we can also check on DJ-"
"NO!" Chica and Roxy cried simultaneously. This earned them some looks from the boys. Smoothing her beautiful fur down, Roxy managed to squeak out, "How about we head downstairs after we show Monty? My little brother must be up here somewhere." Groaning, Gregory muttered, "But he's so mean!"
"He can be, but hey! After the show today he actually used Freddy's name! That's a sign, right?" Chica pointed out, patting Gregory on the shoulder as she kneeled down beside the kid. The little boy seemed surprised to hear that, and by the looks of it so was Pedro. "Okay, let's go see Uncle Monty I guess. Maybe he's still in a good mood," the older boy proposed, looking up at his mom. Scratching her chin thoughtfully, Roxy mumbled slowly, "Yeah, let's see what my little brother's up to. I know he's hiding something..."

"I missed," Alyssa announced the moment she heard a splash. Cringing as he watched the ball sink to the bottom of the pool, Monty rumbled, "Uh, can confirm miss. But hey, practice makes perfect, right?" The teen girl next to him smiled and nodded her head. Chuckling softly, the alligator pulled out another golf ball from inside his stomach hatch. Handing it to Alyssa, he murmured, "Remember where the ball should be placed?"
"Two lined up steps away from either edge," Alyssa answered. She was already measuring out the distance using her own two feet. Stepping back to watch, Monty purred quietly. The pair were obviously over at the golf course, where the gator animatronic was teaching his daughter how to golf using her impressive memory. And they were doing good, considering they were on hole seven. This one was one of the trickiest though as Alyssa was finding out right now when another splash sounded. "Shoot," she muttered, "This one is hard."
"Have faith, mon jeune espoir. It is hard but I believe you can do it," Monty reassured Alyssa as he handed her another golf ball. Positioning it where she wanted, the teenager waited a moment before she tapped the ball forward with just enough force. Up and around the loop it went before hitting a corner that knocked it towards the right where it then fell into the hole with a satisfying thud. "And that," Monty declared, "Is how you get a hole in one on hole seven."
"Awesome," Alyssa stated, grinning happily. Striding up to her, Monty gave her a big hug before he spoke, "Now, I will be right back. Gotta fetch the balls in the water before we head to eight." Nodding her head in understanding, Alyssa replied, "Okay Papa." Patting her head gently with his giant hand, Monty hopped over the fence surrounding hole seven and jumped into the pool. Unlike most other animatronics, he was able to swim in water which proved useful when collecting golf balls and trash people dropped into the various pools all over Monty Golf. Fetching the last ball, he resurfaced and called out, "I got them!"
"I can see that little brother," Roxy's voice spoke coolly, causing Monty to jump. Yelping, he spun around. On a bridge suspended over the pool was Roxy, Chica and the other children. Clearing his throat, the gator animatronic puffed his chest out as he grumbled, "What are you all doing here? I'm busy." Raising one eyebrow, Roxy leaned over the bridge railing as she questioned, "Doing what? Announcing random stuff to an empty golf course?"
"Papa, is everything okay?" a new voice called out, startling the group. Looking up past Monty, they saw a teenage girl with dark skin and long black hair in braids with huge black sunglasses obscuring her eyes. She was clearly out of place considering the Pizzaplex was closed by this point. Jaws dropped and eyes boggling, the group looked down at Monty. Twiddling his thumbs, the alligator answered the girl, "Everything is okay, we just got some guests. I'll be right over." Turning to the others, he mumbled, "I can explain-"
"Oh I would love to hear an explanation right now little bro!" Roxy barked, grabbing Monty by the mohawk and effortlessly lifting him out of the water. Chica backed up with the kids, putting herself in front of them protectively. Wincing in pain, the gator hissed, "Calm down, she's my daughter!" Shocked, Roxy exclaimed, "Your daughter?!"
"You have a daughter too?! That's amazing!" Chica squealed with delight. Trying hard to free himself from his sister's iron grip, Monty wheezed, "Yes! I just adopted her like an hour ago!" Giving up on escaping, he hung limp and mumbled, "Would you like to meet her properly?" Meeting her brother's gaze, Roxy answered, "Of course I'd like to meet my niece! Let's go!" The wolf animatronic promptly dropped the alligator back into the pool, causing a huge splash.
Waiting right where she was left, Alyssa heard footsteps approaching her. However, they weren't as heavy as Monty's and plus there were multiple pairs of footsteps. There was a group here with her. Listening quietly, she then heard someone emerging from the water behind her. This was Monty, she knew because she could hear the familiar heavy footsteps. Giant clawed hands rested gingerly on her shoulders as Monty rasped, "It was only a matter of time before I had to introduce you to the rest of the family, huh my little starfish?"
"Okay Monty, we're here," Roxy announced her presence as the group rounded the corner. Leading Alyssa over to the group, Monty rumbled softly, "Guys, this is my daughter Alyssa. Alyssa, these are your aunts Roxy and Chica." Smiling warmly, Chica held out her hand as she clucked, "Nice to meet you sweetie!" Blindly feeling the air for the chicken, Alyssa answered, "It's nice to meet you too." Noticing the dilemma, Chica quietly took a hold of the girl's hand and shook it.
Realizing the poor thing couldn't see, Roxy felt a pang of pity shoot through her. She remembered when she was missing her eyes. At least that was fixed with a simple repair. But poor Alyssa was going to be blind forever. Kneeling down before the young teen, the wolf animatronic shook her hand kindly rasped, "Hello Alyssa, welcome to the family. You know, you got a good dad there."
"Thank you, I've got the best dad," Alyssa replied, grinning. Leaning against his own golf club nearby, Monty purred softly. Standing tall once more, he continued the introductions, "Then over here we have your cousins Pedro, Gregory and... Chica, where's Grace?" It was at this moment everyone realized that the four year old toddler had wandered off AGAIN. Groaning, Chica buried her face into her hands. Whipping out a flashlight, Gregory muttered, "I'm going into the vents."
