two days later
"Brendon, do you want to actually talk to me today?"
I grimace at her, "I could think of nothing worse."
"People end up talking eventually and it just makes the whole process easier if you get it done now," she says, writing something on her notes, "I know your family is struggling for money a-"
I interrupt her, with a stern look on my face, "Don't you fucking dare bring my family into this."
"Look, I'm sorry; I crossed a line," she apologises, "How about we just start from scratch? I have some files about him that you wrote me..."
"Whatever."
"So, George Ryan Ro-" she begins, before I quickly stop her.
"His name is Ryan," I look at her sternly.
"But on the files it sa-"
I interrupt her again, "I don't care what it says on the files. His name is Ryan Ross. If you mention the name 'George' again I will leave; Do you understand?"
"Alright then, Brendon..." she says, quietly.
"That means that you don't mention his father either."
"I... O-Okay then..." she looks down at her notes again, "So then; according to you, Ryan Ross, age seventeen, went missing two days ago. There have been no leads, as nobody has mentioned this to the police. Brendon, why hasn't anybody said anything to the authorities?"
"Well, you know I'm not going to do it. His mother is dead a-" I begin, but she quickly interrupts me.
"When did his mother die?" she smiles, sympathetically.
I look at her with an angry look on my face, "I thought these sessions were meant to be about me?"
"Y-Yes... Sorry," she leans forward, one leg on top of the other.
"Did you find any information on him? Surely there has to be something..." I ask, a little confused, "He just - left. It was so sudden..."
She ignores me and carries on asking her questions, confusing me a bit. "So, what was your relationship with Ryan?"
"I - what about the.... Wait a second, can you stop talking about him as though he's dead?" I say, "He hasn't fucking died or anything."
"Well, I'm sorry Brendon, but we can't say that for sure..."
"You know what," I stand up, fuming, "Fuck this. I'm trying to be civil here but-"
"I'm going to have to tell your mother about this outburst if you don't settle down soon..."
"I don't care! What don't you understand? I'm fucking leaving, okay? And don't send a search party or anything unless it's for Ryan. Because he's the one everyone should be worrying about!" I shout, angrily, slamming the door behind me.
