four days later

I keep walking. I just have to keep walking. I intend to find Ryan and that's the end of it.

"Ry?" I call out, "Ryan!"

I look over at the horizon to see the sun setting in the distance. The wind starts to blow more ferociously and I pick up the pace of my walks. I should find somewhere to stay before it gets too cold. I carry on walking and I start to hear the whistle of the wind in my ears and I can see the wind blowing through the trees. I look over to see a tall, fairly climbable tree, a few feet away from me. It'll have to do, I guess.

I place my foot on the stump closest to the floor and push myself up onto the next one. I carry on like this for a couple of minutes, before I reach a long, thick branch, near to the top. I grasp onto it and push myself across the wood, lying down on it. This will have to do, for tonight.

I start to shut my eyes but, as soon as I do, I hear a voice from the bottom of the tree.

"Bren? Is that really you?"

Quickly, I lean over the side of the tree and gasp when I see him standing at the bottom, looking up at me. "Ryan!" I shout to him, smiling.

"Hey, B! Come down here!" his soft voice calls. I finally found the only friend I ever knew. Even if he isn't real, even if I am crazy, he feels real enough to me.

However, as the medication wears off, I can feel the other side effects coming back. I hold my hand to my head, in agony; the migraines are taking over.

"Are the voices back again?" Ryan asks, his voice soft but somehow still audible.

"Yeah, they are," I reply, still holding my head.

"Come down here! I'll try and help."

I smile at him and start to descend down the tree. Looking into the sky, I see the moon glowing brightly and all of his friends, the stars, following suit. Once I finally reach the ground, I envelop Ryan in a big hug and, almost immediately, the voices begin to fade away.

"I've missed you," I whisper, leaning my head on his shoulder.

"I've missed you too," he smiles, leaning away from me a little to look me in the eyes, "I love you so much, Bren. I don't want to lose you again."

"I love you too, Ryro."
