Falling (1)
He doesn't really remember too much that had happened. He remembers all that had happened at the arena. He remembers The battle with the Red Death. Though the last few parts are a little blurry.
He remembers how he had lead the Queen into the clouds, how him and Toothless had hid from her. Toothless had flown around her, firing. Hoping that it would better their chances at winning. It worked at first until the Red Death had fired all around them, trapping them in a river of fire.
Hiccup had remembered what he had learned about dragons all those years ago. It was before he ran from Berk. He was trying to find a way to get Toothless back into the air. They had gotten back in the air and were flying -somewhat- smoothly. Though it was all thanks to a cheat sheet which had flown away. Hiccup reacted on his instincts and gotten them both out of the very intense situation.
They had been resting on a nearby island and a flock of Terrible Terrors had approached them. They were trying to steal Toothless's fish that Hiccup had helped him get. Though a Terrible Terror had been caught in the act and Toothless had fired a small blast at the small, but fierce, dragon. The dragon had looked Ill-like as he waddled over to Hiccup's side, laying there as steam erupted from its mouth.
Dragons aren't fireproof on the inside. Hiccup had one shot to get this right, or basically everyone on this island with perish. No pressure though...
While they were waiting for the right moment to fire, Toothless's prosthetic tail fin had caught alight, burning away at the mechanism that kept Toothless flying.
As the Queen had been falling very closely to the pair, their fast descent had started to become unstable as Toothless prepared his final blast that would end it all.
At Hiccup's call, Toothless flipped over and shot straight the Queen's mouth, setting her mouth alight. The pair fell closer to the ground as they hurried to escape the quick descent of the Queen. With what was left of Toothless's prosthetic tail fin, they climbed up the giant tail of the queen. They lost control as the last of the prosthetic fell away, leaving them flightless.
Hiccup cried out as they spotted the club at the end of the tail. Toothless tried to avoid the collision that would surely happened. Running straight into the club at the end of the tail, Hiccup was thrown from the saddle, falling toward the sea of fire that was quickly approaching him.
Hiccup last remembered trying to stop the collision, as all went black as they collided. He doesn't remember how Toothless desperately tried to reach him. He didn't feel the sharp pain as fire licked at his skin. He didn't feel the tearing at the bottom part of his left leg. He doesn't remember as Toothless wrapped him up in his wings, shielding him from the harsh heat as they fell to the ground.
He was out cold from then on, barley waking up back on Berk, but was quickly put to sleep by a wrinkly old woman with a staff.
He does remember however, ice blue eyes filled with tears, staring down into his pain-filled eyes as he slipped away yet again.
It felt like falling. He didn't have any control over what was happening. He couldn't control where he was going, or if he would ever be able to go back.
The darkness was like being weightless when falling: you weren't sure whether or not you be able to get you bearings before it would be too late.
