Gadget's POV

"We've got less than an hour before Eggman's plan goes down" Knuckles said "There's no time. We have to break into the fortress now" Shadow said "Indeed this is it--our last opportunity to bring peace back into the world" Silver said "But...when the battle ends, we'll have to part with Sonic and Brody--I mean this Sonic and Brody--won't we?" Tails asks sad "Yes if the phantom ruby is gone, I guess they'll be returned to their dimension" Amy said "Thank you for everything, Young Sonic and Brody. I'll never forget what you two did for us" Tails said and the other Sonic and Brody smike giving a thumbs up "Save the sentiments for later. This is not over yet. We still have a battle to fight" Espio said "Exactly. This is our last chance. Give it everything you've got!" Knuckles said and we all nodded and we all started to make our way to Eggman's Empire Fortress.

*At the Imperial Tower*

"Let's go!" Knuckles said as we all charge at the many copies of the bad guys, we see Infinite in the distance and as the soldiers fight the clones I and the others rush to Infinite "Hey Infinite, long time no see!" Sonic said "Miss us?" Brody asked Why yes, I did. I've beem looking foward to finishing you two and your annoying friends!" Infinite said and pushed us all back with a wave from the phantom ruby "I trust you are all ready for oblivion?" Infinite asks "If you're not...oh well" he said when Omega appeared and started shooting him "What?! Who dares?!" Infinite asks "Target reconfirmed. Extermination mode initiates. Payback INEVITABLE" Omega said "Omega! You're back!" Metal Brody said "Awesome!" Rouge said "Is there no end to these annoying insects?" Infinite asks "I will burn your resistancw to ashes, and you along with it!" He said and shoot at the sky creating a giant sun! "Whoa, you've got to be kidding. That's just a special effect right?" Knuckles asks "No, it's not! While we're under the Phantom Ruby's control, it's a part of our reality!" Tails said "Unbelievable! What chance do we have against that?" Espio asks "The sun will fall upon you all. BOOM! THE END!" Eggman said while I hold the Phantom Ruby prototype on my hand and Tails flies over to me "Look. It's reacting. Eggman said something about the Phantom Ruby prototypes!" Tails said "Let me see" he said and I gave him the glowing prototype but when I did the PR prototype stopped glowing "Whoa, it is. He said the Phantom Ruby prototypes only react to the person who activated it" Tails said giving it back to me "That must be you Gadget" he said and I looked at it "Your courage and heroism are probably what triggered ig" Tails said "Just maybe, if you use this it can make that sun disappear" he said and I look determined as I run to the tower despite Knuckles and the others telling me to stop.

I run to the top of the tower, I have to do something "Haha you can stop the sun? It's over!" Eggman said laughing "Make peace with your fate, because hour loves are now over!" Infinite said and I run and jump into the sun closing my eyes and....

It disappeared! I got back on the top of the tower dizzy as I fall to the ground the prototype breaking "Impossible! I thought all the prototypes were destroyed!" Eggman said when Tails fly to me and help me stand "A costly oversight, doctor" Tails said "This is why I always check and double check  as any good scientist would" he said.

Brody's POV

"This is the turning point guys! Time to press our advantage and kick major butt!" Knuckles said looking at the soldiers and the rest of us nodded and Sonic and I run of tothe Mortar Canyon to find Infinite now that he's weaker with the Phantom Ruby.

Eventually we found Infinite "Pathetic little hedgehog and little wolf. Even with the Phantom Ruby weakened, I still have enough power to smash you two into blue and yellow jelly" he said "I'll show you two how outclassed hou really are!" He said "Give it up Infinite you are done for!" I said "Yeah! Brody and I are on a class of our own! Time to put-up or shut up Infinite!" Sonic said and we charge at him ready to fight.

We fought him for a while "You two are done for Sonic and Brody. The Phantom Ruby's energy is recharged" Infinite said "Perish, along with your useless friends!" He said when Gadget appeared and kicked him back "Back off!" Gadget said standing infront of us glaring at him "You!" Infinite said "Our friends got us this far and together we're gonna win!" I said "Your reign of terror and fear is over Infinite!" Gadget said andthe three of us charge at him to resume the fight.

The three of ys defeated him with ease "Impossible. I cannot be defeated" Infinit said standing on one knee "Wrong loser! The things that can't be defeated are heart, soul and the bonds of friendship" Sonic said "Three things you and your fake cronies lack!" I said "No wait!... I can stil....fight!" Infinite said disappearing to the tower.

"You two never fail to suprise me Sonic and Brody. I didn't believe Infinite could lose" Eggman said "Victory will be so much sweeter when I defeat you two" he said "Don't think this is over yet, you blue and yellow nuisances. My plan just went into overtime!" He said.

*Meanwhile*

Classic Brody's POV

Tails asked Sonic and me to find the entrance to the central tower as he detected that the Phantom Ruby was being moved underground and it seem the others weren't finding anything so Sonic and I may be on the right track here in Iron Fortress.

*Back with Modern Brody and Sonic*

Brody's POV

According to Knuckles young me and Sonic found the entrance to the tower and we got in with Gadget as he, Sonic and I start looking for the reactor as Tails said the Phantom Ruby was heading there.

Eventually we found the reactor and with Gadget's help we destroyed it and we use triple boost to escape as the place starts to blow up.

We got out and back to the field outside Eggman's fortress as Tails flies holding Young me and Sonic "We did it! Eggman's army is officially butt-kicked. W ewon!" Sonic said and we were gonna fist bump with Gadget when the ground shakes "Oh come on, now what? Why can't we ever just win and have that be the end of it?" I asked"Look!" Tails said as we look behind seeing Eggman on a mech.

"Gotcha! The fortress reactor was just a decoy. A true winner always keeps his trump card hidden until the end" Eggman said "Sonic Brody, what's going on? There aren't less enemies! There's MORE!" Vector said on a communicator "The Phantom Ruby is still functioning!" Bolt said "What have you done?!" I asked Eggman "Mwa-hahaha! I merely incorporated the Phantom Ruby into this death egg robot" Eggman said "But that means the Phantom Ruby no longer has a vulnerable energy supply, it's an invulnerable ruby?" Tails asks "A good deduction Tails" Eggman said "This Death egg robot has...No, I have surpassed Infinite to become the complete and ultimate form" he said "You will be crushed by this Death egg robot powered by the Phantom Ruby, and in the end everything will still be just as I planned!" He said and laughs "Your plan will end like all your plans do" Sonic said "With you sitting in a pile of busted robot parts wondering how you failed so badly" I said "Let's get them" Sonic said as He, Gadget, Young me, young Sonic and me charge at Eggman to fight.

After Gadget and Young me and Sonic damaged the robot Eggman got out on a stronger version of this mech.

And we were all in a nullspace area as we keep attacking the robot till we leave it weakened enough and we all together ended with an ultra boost and destroy the robot getting back to the others.

As we got back we saw all the Phantom Ruby illusions vanish "All right! We won!" Knuckles said as the sky clears.

Knuckles had the resistance soldiers head back to the base as the rwst of us stayed asYoung Me and Sonic start to fade being sent back to their dimension "I guess this is goodbye" Tails said and hugged them "Get home safely Sonic and Brody and thanks for everything!" He said and pull back as Young me and Sonic hold hands smiling and wave us goodbye vanishing and Tails looks down sad "Cheer up Tails, I'm sure we'llrun into them again" Sonic sais and I nodded "Alright guys! It's time we cleaned up the mess that Eggman left this world in, and I'm not talking about those illusions he dreamed up for us!" I said "We need to fix the real world we all live in" I said "Agreed!" Tails said "C'mon let's go!" Sonic said "Yeah!" We all said.

*Some time later-Resistance's base*

Gadget's POV

"Finally an end to this endless battle. Everyone can go back home and relax" Knuckles said walking in "There's no need for the resistance" he said "Hold on Knuckles" Silver said "There's still a lot we need to do. We're just getting started" Blitz said and I walk over to Knuckles and tap on his shoulder "What is it Gadget?" Knuckles asks "Sorry but I have to leave. I'm sure there's others who need my help" I said smiling apologetically "What? You're leaving? There are others who need your help?" Knuckles asks "But ok, I'm not gonna stop you" he said "Thank you" I said "Man the first time I saw you tumbling around, I had no idea you could pull this thing together and see it to the end" Vector said "I've changed my mind about you" he said and I rub my cheek blushing embarrased "I knew you'd come through, rookie. Well, I guess youre not a rookie anymore Gadget!" Knuckles said "You did good out there. It's not like you just waited till the last minute to come in and act all cool saving the day" Rouge said looking at Omega who looks at her like a glare and Rouge winks while Shadow and Bolt chuckle "Our battle is done and our resistance has come to a conclusion, but we'll be friends forver" Tails said "A single person cannot restore the entire world. We have to work together and make a diligent effort!" He said and we all nodded and I wave goodbye and head out.

As I leave the base I see Sonic and Brody looking at the sunset. Sonic was resting his head on Brody's shoulder as Brody had one arm wrapped around Sonic, I walked over to them "Am I interrupting something?" I asked "No you aren't" Brody said "Hey you're taking off?" Sonic asks and I nodded "Yeah and you guys?" I asked "We were thinking the same thing" Brody said "You gonna keep moving foward?" Sonic asks "No matter what, yeah?" Brody asks and I nodded smiling "Heh you and us aren't so different" Sonic said "See ya later buddy!" The two said and we fist bumped and then Sonic and Brody run off holding hands as I wave goodbye as I watch them leave together and I smile as I run my own way.

Ready for the next adventure.
