Chapter 14 - My fault...

"The fuck?" Erin muttered.

Gar growled and looked at Erin.

"Don't look at me like that, I don't know what's happening." She rolled her eyes.

"Ladies and gentlemen. Place your bets." Mercy hummed.

"Are... Are they paying for this?" Erin gave Conner a look.

Conner said nothing in reply, he just simply punched Gar.

"Oh, that is not on." Erin went for Conner.

But Erin just got the same treatment, she got flung back along with Gar.

"We got a problem." A man told Mercy.

"No, we have an opportunity." Mercu assured him.

"Any ideas?" Donna asked the girls as Conner walked up to them.

"Hey, Conner." Kory called to him.

No response.

"Thats your idea? Hey Conner?" Kayleigh asked Kory.

"Why's he looking at me like that?" Dawn asked.

"Probably because you're dressed like a giant bird." Kayleigh muttered.

"He has no clue who we are." Kory shook her head.

"You should go talk to him." Dawn nodded to the two Troy's.

"Why us?" Donna questioned.

"I don't know, he's Kryptonian. You two are Themyscirian. Maybe he'll relate." Dawn pushed Donna.

"Okay, fine." Donna sighed and walked forward,"Hi, Conner. Pleasure to meet you, I'm Donna Troy. We haven't officially met but I've heard great things."

"Okay, fuck this." Kayleigh cursed and pointed, "I don't know who's pulling your strings right now mister but you need to snap out of it, okay?"

"From what we've heard, you're at least half Superman so can we dig down and find that half?" Donna asked.

Conner just didn't say anything, so Kayleigh turned around and held up a thumb.

"Conner, please kill- eliminate the Titans." Mercy spoke to Conner.

Conner then began to fight against Donna and Kayleigh as Kory ran up to him and spoke in her language.

"Don't make me regret this." Kory warned him.

Conner quickly punched Kory.

"Fuck, I regret it!" Kory shouted.

"Let my friends go!" A voice they hadn't heard in a while spoke as he hit Conner.

It was Hank. His attack wasn't very effective as Conner used the arm he wasn't holding Kory with to pick up Hank by his neck. Luckily, Dawn used a piece of mirror and when Conner used his lazer eyes, it backfired and let them go. Meanwhile, in the truck, the screens went off.

"What's going on?" Mercy asked as she typed.

"Something's blocking the feed." A man stated.

"Technical difficulties, Ms. Graves. It appears bidding is closed for the day." Bruce Wayne spoke as troll faces showed up on the screens.

The phone then started ringing and the man turned to Mercy.

"It's Mr Luthor." He told her.

Back outside, Conner had caught a bomb and... Dick appeared in front of the five.

"Perfect timing." Kayleigh rubbed her cheek.

"Things are getting super fucking ugly out here." Hank called to Dick.

"You're not gonna make fun of my suit?" Dick rolled his eyes.

"I just did." Hank smirked.

"I've missed this." Dick chuckled.

"We have a very angry Superboy, any thoughts?" Dawn asked before adding,"Other than yelling,"Hey Conner'."

"Yeah, but we need Rachel." Dick nodded.

"I'll get her after I help Erin." Kayleigh told them before she ran off to find Erin.

Erin was leaning against a wall, breathing heavily. She'd ran from Gar after Rachel had approached.

"Erin?" Kayleigh slowly walked up to her.

"Not more of you." Erin sighed.

"Look, I don't know what they've done to you." Kayleigh shook her head.

Erin rolled her eyes and stood up straight.

"We need you, I, need you." Kayleigh admitted.

"If you needed me, you wouldn't have left." Erin shook her head.

"I'm here now... Do you remember when we were still young? At Ra's Castle? We used to help each other with everything and we made the promise that... Whatever happened, we'd still be there for each other. So... I'm gonna take your hand because I know who you really are." Kayleigh nodded.

"Stay away." Erin warned her, backing away.

"You're my best friend, my sister." Kayleigh walked closer to her.

"This is your last chance." Erin started sparking her hands.

"I'm not afraid of you." Kayleigh assured her, taking her hand.

It took a few minutes but Erin soon fell to her knees, she'd seen everything. Their past. She remembered.

Kayleigh took off her shawl and put it around Erin, hugging her, "I got ya."

"I... Where's my dad?" Erin asked.

"He's here. He just arrived." Kayleigh nodded.

"Let's go then." Erin pulled herself to her feet.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Kayleigh held her shoulders.

"I'm fine." Erin shook her head.

"I missed you." Kayleigh smiled softly.

"You better." Erin nudged her,"I... I suppose I missed you as well."

"Who wouldn't miss me?" Kayleigh smirked and took her hand.

"Girls, now." Dick nodded to the girls.

Erin then fired electricity at Conner, forming a sort of electrical field around him and holding him in place. Kayleigh had gotten the rain water and wrapped it around his legs to keep him still along with Rachel using her dark magic to surround him.

After a while, Dick came back to normal and Conner spoke, "Please... Let me go... So I can finish this."

"As you wish." Erin sighed, stopping the current.

Both girls pulled away, nodding to Conner.

"Thank you." Conner smiled before he walked to the truck where Mercy was.

"Focus all firepower on Subject 13." Mercy ordered,"Take him down!"

Everyone began shooting at Conner, but no one could hurt him so they ran.

"It's over." Connor turned to Mercy.

"This is for Lex Luthor." Kory punched her.

Conner slowly walked up to everyone and nodded to Erin and Gar, "I... I did this. It wasn't me, but I did this. I'm sorry."

"We know, it's good to have you back." Dick told him.

"Did anyone ever tell you you can really throw a punch?" Kayleigh looked at him.

Conner chuckled as the crowd began applauding and cheering.

"Mommy! My dolly!" A young girl pointed to her doll.

"It's there, sweetie." A woman pointed.

Erin sighed and walked over to the discarded doll before walking over to the girl with it,"Is this your doll?"

The young girl nodded.

"She's safe now." Erin smiled and handed it to her.

"Thank you." The mother returned the smile.

"Of course." Erin nodded and started walking back to the group.

That's when an electricity tower began to slowly fall.

"Everyone! Get back!" Erin shouted to the civilians, trying to get them to safety.

"Erin." Hank shouted.

Just before it could fall on Erin... She could hear a scream. Erin turned quickly... It was Donna, Donna holding the electrified tower.

"Donna!" Dick shouted to her.

It was too much for her. She dropped the Tower and Donna fell on top of it.

"Mom!" Kayleigh screamed and ran up to her.

Erin was frozen in place, looking at the unmoving body of Donna. That could've been her... No, that should've been her... After a minute, Kayleigh turned to Erin and walked up to her, covering her mouth. Erin turned away. She couldn't look Kayleigh in the eyes, not anymore.

"Erin?" She whispered.

Erin was silent.

"Guys- We gotta go." Hank quickly walked over.

"Erin." Hank cupped her face.

"I did a bad thing.." Erin looked down.

"Hey, you didn't know what was gonna happen, kiddo." Hank shook his head.

"It's okay, come here." Hank hugged her while Kayleigh was comforted by Dick.

Erin held onto Hank tightly, crying into his shoulder.

Dawn walked out of the costume room after she had put down Donna's belt and lasso. Erin snuck in after noticing the belt and lasso. There they were... Just sitting on her stand. They wouldn't mind if she just... Took them and gave them to Kayleigh, right? As a sorry? ..Nah. They wouldn't mind. Even if they did, they wouldn't know it was her. She hadn't been out of her room unless she needed to eat, anyway. Erin then took the two and walked to Kayleighs room. She hesitated before knocking gently on the door.

"Who is it?" A small murmur came from inside.

"It's me." Erin admitted shyly.

Erin heard footsteps before the door quickly opened. She was met with the face of her best friend. Could she call her that after what Erin had done to her? Kayleigh took a second before she hugged Erin. Erin flinched slightly, what was happening? Why? She simply shook her head and held out the belt and lasso as Kayleigh let go.

"What?" Kayleigh blinked.

"I thought... You should have them." Erin told her.

"I thought the others... Did you steal them?" She raised a brow.

"... Do you want me to put them back?" Erin asked quickly, pulling her hands back.

"No, no." Kayleigh chuckled, "I'm just glad you're still my Erin."

"So... You do want them?" Erin held her hands out again.

Kayleigh looked at them as she slowly took them, "I want my best friend to talk to me as well."

"You and Rachel talk all the time." Erin told her.

"Have I known Rachel since I was a baby? No." Kayleigh crossed her arms, "I'm talking about you, bozo."

"I... I have to go." Erin turned to leave.

"Hey." Kayleigh took her hand, "What are you doing?"

"Leaving." Erin told her.

"Shutting yourself out." Kayleigh corrected, "You get inside this room right now and we are gonna talk."

"No.." Erin whined.

"Now." Kayleigh ordered.

"Don't want to." Erin muttered.

"Would you rather we did it in the hall?" She raised a brow.

"I'd rather we didn't do it at all." Erin told her.

"I'm sorry." Erin shook her head, going to leave again.

"Erin Hall." Kayleigh warned.

Erin froze where she was stood, looking down at her feet.

"Get inside this room." Kayleigh pulled her back gently.

Erin rubbed her eyes and reluctantly did as she was told.

Kayleigh put down the items and turned to Erin, "Why are you shutting yourself out?"

Erin looked away,"I don't want it to happen again."

"Don't want what?" Kayleigh asked her.

"I don't want more people to fucking die, okay?!" Erin sat down on the bed; holding her head.

Kayleigh held her hands before she slowly walked over and sat beside her, "What happened with my mom... That wasn't your fault. Neither was what happened with Cadmus."

"You know it should've been me and so do I." Erin shook her head.

"It shouldn't have been anyone. God, if it was you I don't know what I would be like." Kayleigh admitted.

"But... I can't do this." Erin told her, wiping her eyes.

"Do you... Do you remember when Ra's made me kill that woman? The nice lady from the bakery? I wouldn't come out my room for a week but you always came and saw me, helped me. I'm not gonna sit to the side while you're in pain, I'm gonna help you like you did to me." Kayleigh nodded.

Erin looked at the floor. She could feel herself crying but she refused to make any noise.

"Come here, Feathers." Kayleigh sighed and hugged her.

She wasn't going to let the person who had helped her, go through this alone.

"I'm so sorry." Erin apologized again.

"It's not your fault." Kayleigh assured her.

Erin just rested her head on Kayleigh's shoulder. No matter what Kayleigh said to her, she couldn't get the idea out of her head that... It was her fault.

"I'm gonna be with you, no matter what. I'm not gonna leave you again." Kayleigh stroked Erin's hair.
