Chapter 1 - The Escape

Kayleigh wiped the sweat, mixed with a little bit of blood off of her forehead as she walked over to Erin.

"What happened to you?" Kayleigh winced and sat beside her.

"Stabbed." Erin shrugged, she was used to it at this point.

"Oh, I'm lucky for once." Kayleigh joked as she let down her hair.

"Isn't that lovely?" Erin sighed, fixing her shoelace.

Kayleigh looked around as the rest of the League disappeared from the room, "..I finally managed to make the brew."

"Finally, it's been ages." Erica told her, shakily getting to her feet.

"I had to get things slowly." Kayleigh sighed and helped her friend stand.

"I know." Erin nodded,"So can we leave tonight?"

Kayleigh nodded with a small smile, "I'll make the dinner and slip it in. We should be able to get out, for real this time."

"It's about time, this place is the worst." Erin stated, starting to walk away.

"Tell me about it." Kayleigh rolled her eyes.

"Come on, let's get ready for tonight." Erin nodded, heading in the direction of their rooms.

**

"Alright. One stew for you, and one for you." Kayleigh bowed her head to Ra's as she handed him his stew, going and standing back with Erin.

Ra's took a spoonful and tasted it,"Hm, you've done well tonight."

"Thank you, sir." She nodded.

"You girls may go now." Ra's told them.

Kayleigh nodded before she left the the room with Erin, "Pack your bags."

"Already on it." Erin whispered to her.

"Meet at the back entrance. I've already given the guards their dose." She nodded.

Erin nodded and jogged off down the hall, limping slightly with her injured leg. After a while, Erin heard a knock at her door.

"That you, Fishy?" Erin asked.

"It sure is, Feathers." Kayleigh hummed as she walked in.

"Great, let's go." Erin got up.

"Will you be alright to run?" Kayleigh asked.

"I'll manage." Erin nodded.

"Come on." Kayleigh put her bag on as she looked out the door.

Erin grabbed her bag and followed after Kayleigh. After they had walked for a while, they heard a crack in the woods, like a branch being stepped on.

"Fuck, go!" Erin shouted, starting to run.

Kayleigh quickly turned and ran past a tree. Erin continued, nearly falling into a hole as she ran.

"I got you." Kayleigh held her arm just before she fell in the hole.

"Thanks." Erin nodded, pulling Kayleigh along with her.

Just as they went to run out of the woods, they were blasted back.

"The hell?!" Erin questioned, landing on the ground.

"You girls really think, you'd get away?" They heard Ra's speak.

"Well, that was the plan." Erin nodded.

Ra's tutted and began to walk up to them.

"Three..Two..one." Kayleigh muttered before Ra's fell to the ground.

"Ha!" Erin pointed, scrambling to her feet.

"Go, quickly." Kayleigh held her arm as she got up, running.

"What do you think I'm doing?" Erin asked her as she ran.

**

The girls finally stopped once they got to a bus station, sitting down.

"You think we lost him?" Erin breathed?

"I hope so. We've ran for hours." Kayleigh held her chest.

"I know." Erin's head perked up as she looked around.

"See anything?" Kayleigh asked.

"Only a car driving towards us." Erin pointed at a police car.

"Where are we?" Kayleigh asked.

"Uh..." Erin walked over to the bus stop and read it,"San Francisco?"

"Where?" Kayleigh raised a brow.

"San Francisco." Erin told her.

"..Where is that?" Kayleigh tilted her head.

Right, she hadn't been outside much.

"You think I know?" Erin asked.

"You've been out more than me." Kayleigh shrugged as she looked about, "It's loud."

"I don't like it, can we leave?" Erin turned to her.

Kayleigh nodded and grabbed her bag, "Let's go."

"Thanks." Erin told her as they started walking.

"Where do we go?" Kayleigh looked around.

"That's a good question." Erin sighed.

Kayleigh crossed her arms to keep herself warm, "Somewhere... Warm, maybe some food?"

"Well, I don't think we'll find that here." Erin shook her head.

Kayleigh sighed, "We just need to keep walking."

"About that. We've got a problem." Erin pointed ahead of them.

"What now?" Kayleigh groaned and looked.

"Assassins." Erin muttered.

Kayleigh mentally cursed as she looked at the assassins.

"Other way!" Erin dragged Kayleigh into an alleyway.

"Oh, alright!" Kayleigh yelped and ran.

Erin managed to get Kayleigh halfway through the alleyway until she was blocked by two assassins.

"Back, back!" Kayleigh ran backwards.

Another two assassins trapped them in.

"... So, we're fighting? Oh, come on Ryan, I thought we were friends." Kayleigh titled her head at an assassin.

"..." Ryan stayed silent.

"Well, I tried." Kayleigh shrugged before she dropped her bag and threw throwing stars at them.

Another assassin grabbed Erin's wrist but she somehow managed to turn it back on the assassin,"I think I'm getting better at this."

"Yeah, we've only been training for this for ages." Kayleigh shrugged before they both began to fight.

They'd been fighting for what seemed like ages, both sides landing blows until they heard something from behind them.

"You got this?" A male asked to a young boy.

"Oh, yeah." The green haired boy nodded.

The girls then noticed a green tiger run past them and begin attacking the assassins, both girls falling to the ground.

"Wh- how?!" Erin questioned.

"I don't know but I don't like it!" Kayleigh jumped ontop of the dumpster.

Erin managed to get to her feet and attempted to swing at the unknown male.

"Woah, woah!" The male grabbed her hand.

"Who the fuck are you and what do you want?" Erin questioned him.

"We could ask the same thing." A girl with purple hair walked over.

Erin scanned their surroundings. There was no point resisting, they were outnumbered.

"We want to help you. You and... Your friend who's disappeared." The purple haired girl spoke.

"Where do you keep coming from?!" Erin questioned.

"Believe me, there's a bunch of us." The purple haired girl told her.

"Well, I have to go. I'm kinda in a rush." Erin tried to pull her hand away.

"We want to help you with whatever your problem is." The man nodded.

"It's my problem, I'll deal with it myself." Erin told him.

Just as he went to open his mouth, all of a sudden a bunch of water was flung over them, missing Erin.

"I helped!" Kayleigh smiled from the building above.

"What the f-" Rachel cursed.

Erin took her chance and started to run, giving the man a slight static shock as she did.

"Ow!" The man yelped as Kayleigh waved before she ran down to Erin.

"Running time." Erin told her.

"My legs are sore." Kayleigh complained.

"I was literally stabbed in the leg and I'm still running. You can move." Erin crossed her arms.

"Hey!" The man shouted.

Kayleigh whined and quickly ran. Erin ran with her, occasionally looking over her shoulder.

"They're in danger." The green haired boy looked at his friends.

"That's why we need to go after them." The man told him.

"They won't stop." The girl sighed.

"They will eventually." The man nodded.

"Right then. Come on." She nodded and ran after them.

The two men ran as well.

"I don't think we can do this anymore." Kayleigh shook her head.

"You're probably right." Erin leaned against a wall.

"Do you know those people?" Kayleigh panted.

"Nope." Erin shook her head.

Kayleigh rubbed her face and looked around. The group of three was gaining on them.

"What do we do?" Kayleigh asked.

"Let them take us, I suppose." Erin sighed.

"What if they're with Ra's?" Kayleigh sighed.

"Well, we're screwed." Erica shrugged.

Kayleigh held her head as the group walked up.

"Gave up?" The man asked.

"What of it?" Erin questioned him.

"Are you gonna come with us? Because we really.. want to help." The green haired boy nodded.

"Do we have a choice?" Erin asked.

"No." The man replied with a smile.

"Didn't think so." Erin sighed.

"Who are you guys?" Kayleigh tilted her head.

"We're the Titans." The boy with green hair told them.

"The Titans?" She raised a brow.

"That's right." The boy with green hair nodded.

"Well, greenie. I meant names." She crossed her arms.

"Oh, uh, right." The boy with green hair chuckled,"I'm Gar."

Kayleigh nodded slowly, "You two?"

"Dick." The man nodded.

"And I'm Rachel." The girl smiled.

"Right." Eirn nodded slowly.

"And how about you girls?" Dick asked them.

"You want to go first?" Erin turned to Kayleigh.

"I'm Kayleigh." She smiled and held out her hand.

Erin sighed,"Erin."

Rachel shook Kayleigh's hand before she stepped back.

"Do you girls need help?" Dick asked.

"What do you the answer is?" Erin questioned him.

"Who were those people?" Gar raised a brow.

"Can we ask questions later? It's cold, and we're sore." Kayleigh shook her head.

"She's right." Erin nodded.

"Why don't you girls come with us? We can provide you with some food, water, a place to stay until we can contact your parents." Dick suggested.

Erin froze momentarily at the word 'parents' before slowly nodding.

Kayleigh looked at Erin, rubbing her arm before she nodded with her, "Alright."

"Lead the way." Erin gestured to Dick.

Dick nodded to the girls before he walked.
