Prologue: Second Gens
No, life isn't easy. And yet, it still isn't that hard. Life isn't fun sometimes, but if you think you live a hard life, rethink that. I, my friend, am--- Shoot, gotta go. I'll be back.
The screams and shouts of pain from my comrades filled the air and I listened for my best friend's voice. Silence. My thoughts flew and I rushed onto the field where my other mutant friends were fighting for their lives against a different, more powerful mutant army. We were first generation mutants, which signified that when we were born, we were born with our 'gifts' if that's what you could call them. I shifted my form, cat-like ears popping out of my head while a long, delicate black tail with a beautiful silvery grey tip curled around my leg. Claws sprung from my fingers and I crouched, pouncing on the nearest enemy and slitting his throat with my claws. Blood flew everywhere, the coppery smell flooding my nostrils.
"Carder!" My friend, Lycan shouted, his wolf-like gold eyes fixed on my position. I gave a Cheshire grin and sprang on multiple SG mutant's shoulders to get to his position. Once I was settled in a crouching stance at his feet, I looked at my claws which were coated in the blood of several Second Gens.
"Lycan, long time no see."
"It's only been thirty minutes." He snarled, taking out SGs left and right. I only shrugged, doing a backflip and slitting a semi-circle of SG's throats. They fell limp, the once green grass coated in bloods of all different colors, ranging from red to black. I swallowed the bile the rose in the back of my throat and turned away from the scene, the smell clogging my senses. My eyes watered and I shook my head, clearing my thoughts when I found that a full-blown circle of SG's was closing in on my position. This was going to be a rough night... For them I mean.
