Daughter of Saruman: LOTR
Mercia is the daughter of Saruman the white wizard. Her name means Compassion, Forbearance (meaning: patient self-control; restraint and tolerance) and Mercy. Her mother was an elf maiden. The sister of Lord Elrond. She certainly has her mother's beauty, her ears have a slight tip to them like other half elves, but no where near as pointy as a full elf. She had dark brown eyes, fair skin, but the most striking thing about her. Is her hair, auburn with white streaks. It's is very noticeable so she often wears a hooded cloak to avoid stares. Anyway one day she tending to her garden when an eagle appeared with an injured Gandalf. What happens next?
Mercia's POV
Greetings everyone I am Mercia, daughter of Saruman the White and Lady Atheila of Rivendell. Well former lady, she sailed long ago. I was born during the Watchful Peace, it was the year 2100 during the third age. I was raised by my mother in Rivendell for 363 years, until she decided to sail. That is the year I meet my father and the White Council was formed. My father taught me magic, how to fight with it.
I stayed with my father for 47 years. Until my uncles wife left for Valinor. I returned to Rivendell to comfort him and his family. I stayed for many years, learning many languages, to fight with many weapons, how to play instruments, healing and much more.
When dragons reappeared sixty years later and started conflict with the dwarves. Father begged me to return to him. Saying it wasn't safe. But I refused, I would not abandoned my mother's people. After dwarves appeared in Rivendell on a request to reclaim Erebor. It made me think, where is my home? Yes I live in Rivendell and have for most of my life. But is it my home?
I did not have an answer. So I decided to leave and search Middle Earth for one. Though I kept tabs on events over the next sixty years. I settled down in the Gladden fields by the Great River in small house. Things were peaceful. Until one morning an eagle lands in my garden with an injured Gandalf.
I brought him inside and tended to his wounds. Before feeding the eagle and gave is some water. Before it left. I then sat by Gandalf reading a book, waiting for him to wake. He soon does so with a groan. "You took your time" I state as I close my book.
"Mercia" he says. I hand him a glass of water.
"You were pretty banged up old friend, did my father really do that do you?" I ask him.
"Yes, he has betrayed us" he states. I sigh and go to the window. "Where do your loyalties lie Mercia?" he asks me as he sits up.
"Like you have to ask mellon" I say as I look at him. "My mother would be sad to see my father has fallen so far. I'd see the ring destroyed in the hopes it'd return my father to his senses" I state.
"You know, there is no guarantee of that" he tells me.
"I know" I say with a sigh running my hand through my hair.
"Will you come with me to Rivendell?" he asks me.
"I already prepared two horses for us" I tell him. "But it is late, you should rest tonight" I tell him.
"I shall, but before we go to Rivendell, I must go to Bree" he states.
"Even with the horses I have picked, it will take us a week to get there. But first you must tame your horse" I tell him.
"How long will that take?" he asks me.
"As long as it takes, after all he is the lord of all horses" I state.
"Shadowfax" he says.
"Yes, my horse is his mate. Lady of all horses, Esperanza" I tell him. "Besides, I'm sure it will only be a couple of days and your injuries should be healed by then" I state.
"Then I shall rest and begin after breakfast" he tells me. Before laying back down. I look back out the window in deep thought. How could of my father have fallen so far as to join Sauron? Mother, please give me strength.
I go prepare my travel bag. When I hear two familiar whinnies. I smile going outside to be greeted by Esperanza and Shadowfax.
"We will have a long journey a head of us" I tell them. They snort and I pat Esperanza. Shadowfax does not like human touch much. But he is still a wild stallion. Once Gandalf tames him, he will be more willing for humans to touch him. I tamed Esperanza last year, but she is a free spirit. I allow her to come and go as she pleases. One day she appeared with Shadowfax, so I fed him. I'm sure it won't be long until they have a foal. But I pray they don't as it is not safe right now. But who am I to control the will of horses?
I give them both food and brush Esperanza down. Before going back inside. To get some rest. I may not need as much rest of man, but I need more then a full blooded elf. I changed into my night gown and called it a night.
Three days later Gandalf tamed Shadowfax and we set off at once for Bree. A week later we arrived. We stayed but one night before setting out for Rivendell. When we reached Weather-top, we were attacked by ring wraiths. We got away and continued on our journey.
We had no farther trouble and reached Rivendell safely. We were greeted by my uncle. He and Gandalf went to discuss my father's treachery and the ring. While I took our horses to the stables. I cleaned them up and fed them. Before giving the stable hands orders to release them at first morning light. Knowing they'd appear when Gandalf and I need them next.
I then washed up. I the caught up with my three cousins before dinner. Where a feast is held in honour of Gandalf and I. The following day Glorfindel appeared with a dying hobbit. Elrond and I healed him. Elrond calls for a council of all races. The representatives would arrive in a week. Elrond invited me to join the council, but I have not decided if I will go.
