Aslan's POV

My pride and I are chilling under a large tree after eating. Dalila is nursing her young cub. While the other older cubs Chiku, Asali and Kamili play. My son Nuru is relaxing by his mother Asha, my mate and queen. We have three other adult lionesses in the pride. Adia, Fahari and my twin sister Hafzah.  Hafzah and I maybe old, but we didn't get to be our age by being weak. Hafzah has had two cubs herself Bianka and Zira. Bianka is dead and Zira now lives with our neighboring pride, the pride landers.

We are the Milele pride. Our anscetors were the first to discover Milele and establish a home here. I allowed Mufasa and his brother to start their own pride here as there is plenty of food for all. Who hunt respectfully. The Pride landers pride has grown and now have dozen adult lions. Along with about five young cubs. Where as our pride has gotten smaller.

But we have nothing to worry about. Mufasa would never drive us away. Besides we are the rightful owners of Milele, the pride lands. "Sire, it's Scar" Dalila calls and we all look to see Scar approaching our pride.

"What's her doing here?" Nuru asks as he gets to his feet with a low growl.

"Easy son" I tell him. As the cubs run to Hafzah and Asha. Scar stops a few feet away.

"Aslan, I request an audience" he says.

"Don't go" Asha tells me.

"I'll be fine" I assure her and rub my head against her's. I then make my way down to Scar. "Scar, it's been a while. How is your brother and nephew?" I ask him.

"Funny you should ask that Aslan, thy are dead" he states.

"What? How?" I ask him.

"Stampede in the gorge, I am now king" he states. "I request you and your pride leave" he adds. Nuru and the others growl lowly at him.

"Easy" I tell them as I stand up taller. "Do not forget Scar, it is by my blessing you and your pride were allowed to live here" I remind him.

"Yes, but now we have the power" he states. "This is your only warning, be gone by sunset or suffer the consequences" he tells me. "That is all" he says and leaves.

"Who does he think he is" Nuru snarls as he joins me glaring at Scar. "He has no right to tell us to leave our home" he states. I sigh and look at the pride, I cannot risk their lives. But I will not bow to Scar or his rule.

"Nuru, go scout. Don't be seen and report back within the hour" I tell him. He nods and takes off. I return to the pride. "Lets return to the den" I tell them and Dalila picks up her daughter. We head back to the den.

(Time skip)

"Father!" Nuru shouts as he appears as the sun begins to set. "It's horrible" he states.

"Deep breath son, tell me what you saw" I tell him calmly.

"Hyenas everywhere, Scar and them were hunting together. He has allowed them into Milele, they will destroy everything" he states. The others gasp in horror. "I didn't get to talk to any of the pride landers. But there was no sign of Mufasa or Simba. They do appear to be gone" he explains.

"Aslan, hyenas in coming!" Hafzah shouts. I growl lowly.

"Nuru, take the cubs, Dalili, Adia, and Fahari to the falls. You all will be safe there" I tell him.

"What about you, mum and Hafzah?" he asks.

"We will buy you time my son" Asha tells him as Hafzah wakes the older cubs.

"But I can fight" Nuru tells us.

"We know, but your duty is to protect the pride" I tell him.

"Take care of them and one day you will be able to take back our home" Hafzah tells him.

"Run and don't you dear come back until Dalila's daughter is grown up" Asha orders him. "Grow strong my son and no that we will always watch over you" she says and nudges him. As the others lead the cubs towards the back entrance.

"Go now son, we will hold them off" I tell him. He leaves reluctantly. "Are you two with me?" Asha and Hafzah.

"Till the end my love" Asha tells me as Hafzah nods her head. We leave the den and attack the hyenas head on. Asha, was the first to fall. But she fought viliantly and took out at least five hyenas before she was overwhelmed. I was the next to fall and the last thing I remember seeing was lion & lioness approaching Hafzah who was surrounded by hyenas. Before I died.

Third Persons POV

Hafzah huffs and snarls as the hyenas part. "Zira" she says shocked.

"Hello mother" Zira sneers.

"Where is the rest of the pride?" Scar demands.

"You'll never find them" Hafzah states.

"Hyenas kill her" Scar orders.

"Allow me" Zira snarls.

"You'd kill your own mother?" Hafzah demands glaring at Zira.

"Why not? I killed my sister" Zira says smirking.

"You killed Bianka?! I'll kill you!" Hafzah roars and attacks Zira. It was a vicious fight and Zira lost part of her ear. But in the end she was able to kill Hafzah. Scar then ordered the hyenas to track down the rest of the Milele pride and to kill them. But they never found them. Though they didn't tell Scar or Zira that.

Meanwhile, Nuru had lead what was left of his pride to the safety of the falls. Where no one will be able to catch their scent due to the waterfall at the den entrance. They had heard the roars of pain from the other three and knew they were gone. Which makes Nuru now king and leader of the pride. He prays he will make his parents proud and will one day be able to reclaim his home.
