Rori's POV

They're all gone. Papa who has raised me for the last ten years and my siblings. They killed them all. Except for one. I vowed to keep him safe. No one will hurt my little brother. It won't be long now until he hatches. I'm covered in papa's scent, so brother should recognize me as family.

While we wait for my little brother to hatch. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Rori, at least that's the name I gave myself. As Papa always roared to get my attention. I was an infant. I was found by papa in 1988 in the French Polynesia.

We lived peacefully for ten years before he said it was time for him to have off spring of his own. We traveled to America, New York to be process. It was a long journey. I spent most of it in Papa's mouth when he wasn't hunting. It was the only place I could breath while he swam underwater. When we got to the city we found a safe place for him to nest, but the other humans attacked him while he went to get fish for my future siblings. I knew they'd come after the nest, so started to move the eggs further underground. But they were to big. I only managed to move one before the humans appeared.

I stayed hidden with my brother and heard and felt them destroy the others. I then heard papa's cry of despair and made my way to the surface. To let him know I was ok with my brother. But when I reached the surface I found him chasing a car. I got to high ground and watched as flying things killed papa while he was trapped. I returned to my brother and sit down next to his egg crying. Why did the humans attack us? Why kill papa?

I hear my brother's cry from inside his egg. "We'll be ok" I say placing my hand on the egg. "No one will take you away from me" I assure him and myself. I decide to get him some fish. "I'll be back with food" I add and left in search of fish. Maybe there was still same at the main nest. I head there.

However when I near the site I hear another flying craft. I look up through a creak and curse under my breath. The human military are back. I have to get back to my brother before he is discovered. I head back to my brother. I arrive to see a man there and my brother hatch squealing. I rush forward as the man grabbed a pipe.

"Brother!" I cry as he clears his eyes of the gunk. He looks at the man and I cooing. He nuzzles me and I hug him back. Glad he's ok. He looks at the man and approaches.

"Hey, lets no do anything hasty little guy" the man says as he backs into a wall. My brother licks him. The man knocks a power cable, then sends sparks everywhere. Scaring my brother. He runs and I jump onto his back as he digs away.

"You need food brother, follow the scent of sea water" I tell him. He changes direction and we soon get outside next to a water channel. He dives after I took a big breath. I can hold my breath longer then a normal human. But that's because of years of practice. I can only hold it for about ten - fifteen minutes. Which is why papa usually carried me in his mouth. He gave me several hours of air.

My brother hunts. When I needed air I got his attention and he swam to the surface. Once there I let go and he continued to hunt. While I floated there waiting. When he returns he's huge. I hug his snout, now no one can hurt him. He opens his mouth and and I climb inside feeling perfectly safe. I sat on his tongue while he swam. I soon feel him pick up speed. Strange.

We soon surface and he roars. He  go down on all fours letting me out. He then went to a container with fish in it. He puts half his body into it and becomes stuck. I laugh as he stands with it. He roars annoyed. "Use your claws brother!" I shout and he does so freeing himself.

He crouches down and I pat him. "Big dummy" I giggle. Just then a yellow robot appeared. We both look at it curious. But brother whacked it with his tail.  "Lets go back into the water" I tell my brother. But he ignores me looking at four humans. I recognize one of them as the man that was with me when brother hatched.

Brother follows him and picks him up. Then licks him and I approach them. "You need not worry, he thinks you're family" I tell the man. "Put him down brother" I say and he does so. "See, you're in no danger" I tell the man smiling.

"He remembers me" he says shocked. I nod my head as my brother offers me his hand. I climb onto it. "What are you doing?!" he demands. I ignore him as I climb onto my brother's head and sit there. As he looks down at the man. "Follow me, do what I do!" the man tells brother as he walks back towards the word. Brother follows him.

The man throw his torn jacket away and ran inside with the other three humans. Brother paws at the door whining. He lays down in front of it. Guess we're staying here.

We spend the next few weeks here. Brother left me while he went to hunt. The humans used papa's roar to call him and were studying him. They tried to ask me questions. But I only gave my name to Nick. I only trust him as brother trusts him.

My brother and I get back from a swim. To see two new humans. One with a camera. The others were showing off the yellow robot brother is always destroying. It's name is N.I.G.E.L. Bored my brother and I went swimming again.

(Time skip)

Brother and I are sleeping outside. When I hear two people whispering. If they don't keep it down, they'll wake up brother. The girl woke brother by tapping him. He stands up with me in his head. She screams. "Brother easy" I say patting him soothingly.

"Wait! Wait!" Nick shouts from the roof. Brother looks at him. He tells brother to back up twice and he does so. "He won't hurt you" he assures the two people.

"The story of the century and you weren't going to tell me?!" she demands.

"I was trying to prevent world wide chaos" he states. "And where do you get off breaking into here?" he demands.

"Who were you saving it for? Connie Chang?" the girl demands. Just then I hear a helicopter.

"Guys! In coming!" Randy shouts.

"No, leave it alone!" Nick shouts. But the military attacks and I scream as I hold onto my brother. He roars in anger and shots the copter down.

"We have to get to the water!" I shout at brother. Nick tells him the same thing. So he heads for it and we get shot at. I scream as I fall from him and plummet into the water. I swim to the surface to see brother protecting me. I notice missiles heading our way. "Dive!" I shout and he picks him up in his mouth as he dives to deeper water. As I hear Nick shout our names.
