The wedding part 4

The water tribe used the time together as a celebration for their sister tribes to be United together and were loud with their own music and no jewelry, no shoes for once, no parkas, they only wore their dresses and pants.

Sokka twirled his sister as she wore a water tribe light blue dress that was a halter neckline and open back while it ended at her ankles, the flow of the skirt made her seem like a spirit herself. Sokka only had his sleeveless tunic and pants that were rolled to his knees as they jumped around each other and spun with laughter echoing the air.

Katara grabbed Yue as the two princesses burst out laughing and squealing as they held onto each other's hands spinning. Yue had a dark blue dress to respect the bride, it was short in the front and long in the back of the shirt sleeve up to her neck. Both barefoot in the grass.

"Come on Zuko dance with us!" Katara waved her now husband over. Zuko only wore his red tunic that was under the silks with the black pants and he kept his boots on.

"I'm okay," he stayed at the table. The fire nation side were only generals and the fire lord and princess who paid no attention or judged the in laws. The family in blue paid no attention to them either.

"Come with me," Katara ran over her to his side.

"Enjoy your time with your family kat," he smiled up at her.

"Enjoy your time with your friends," she pulled him up and dragged the prince with.

"Yea Zuko!" Sokka and Yue cheered him over as Hakoda laughed holding a cup of liquor and bato held onto him cackling.

Zuko smiled shaking his head and spun Katara around and extended his arm for her before pulling her back with her laughing.

"You two are officially married, how do you feel bro?" Sokka threw his arm around his brother in law.

"Please don't ever call me that," Zuko said flatly.

"To the nations!" Yue raised her fist high.

"To the nations!" The water tribes cried back as chief arnook handed Katara and Zuko cups of liquor.

"To peace!" Katara jumped holding onto zukos shoulder to jump higher with her cup higher. They cheered.

"To the future," Zuko blushed softly with a small raise with his own cup.

"To our future," Hakoda agreed lifting his cup as well.

"Id also like to toast to our children, Zuko, Katara mostly, but as well as Sokka and Yue, these four are our future for our tribes and the fire nation, to all you four, may you have a safe, happy, long life,  I'm sorry for the sacrifices you've had but I hope after today it will be smooth sailing," Hakoda stepped forward as they all quieter down for the chief to speak.

"You're all strong, mentally, physically, spiritually, trust in yourself and your guts to make the right choices, I'm proud of all you've done and what you'll do," he grinned at the four future leaders.

"Thanks dad," Katara rested her head on Zuko with a kind smile.

"Treat my daughter with respect and she'll be the best guard your going to get," Hakoda chuckled and took a chug of his drink as everyone followed.

"We celebrate!" Bato roared and everyone cheered loud like waves crashing in the sea.

"Who knew the palace could hold so much noise," Azula scoffed to Mai and ty Lee.

"It looks fun to dance like that," ty Lee watched intrigued.

"Join them if it looks so fun," Mai scoffed.

"Really? Okay!" She gasped running over.

"Zuko! Kataraaaaa!" Ty Lee jumped on the water benders back laughing as Katara screamed surprised and giggled spinning to face her.

"You looked so beautiful! Can I dance with you guys?" She pleaded and Katara nodded quickly.

"That's the point of this alliance," Katara teased and spun the acrobat.

The music was loud as the three girls laughed and danced as Sokka pulled Zuko to join with the drinking men knowing he was almost terrified of what Katara considered family with the soldiers that were protective of her.

The under cover servant watched and used this time to slip away, a blade shined under his sleeve with a bottle. Sneaking to the princes room.

Zuko gasped as three pairs of hands grabbed the back of his shirt to pull him again, he complained at being treated like a doll that was thrown around. He drank more to ease the worries. Leaving his boots behind.

He turned to escape but bumped into his bride and Katara was surprised as well, she scrunched up her nose with a smile and Zuko bowed to her and asked for her hand.

He spun her again as her skirt followed in a magical way, extending their arms and circling each other in their own dance. They weren't romantic bride and groom but their bond as partners was enough for them to compliment another, water and fire, opposites but cannot be without the other.

The dance showed their trust in each other not knowing the correct steps but letting their smiles carry them.

Zuko spun to her and lifted Katara by her waist as she laughed from her chest holding onto his shoulders being in the air and spun before he lowered her again.

Forgetting of the war

Forgetting why she was even in the fire nation

Forgetting his fears and doubts

Forgetting their trauma and age

He didn't even care if his father saw him happy, smiling with who was once the enemy. If Ozai could see the alliance Zuko already has then so be it. It was to late to go back.

Katara and Zuko panted close to each other's faces as the song ended and they stayed in each other's grip smiling wildly. Never having this much fun in their lives.

"I've never danced like that before," Zuko wheezed.

"It's how we stayed warm, it's the only way to dance," Katara cackled wrapping her arms around his neck.

"I've never danced then," Zuko hugged her back.

"We have to do that more often," he finally was catching his breath.

"Visit the north, we'll do that every time!" Yue called over as they all laughed.

Zuko tightened his hold as he smiled. He's never heard so much laughter in his life, not in his own home. It brought him so much joy, he's never felt more free on a day that was suppose to weigh him down.

He wanted his home to be full of this energy, joy, laughter, fun. For the land that was so warm and so bright how has it always felt so cold before today?

Slowly hours went by and the crowd lessened by the people further into the night, Katara told Sokka he could stay in her room for the night as he was to drunk to figure out where the guest rooms were.

Zuko and Yue were talking freely as friends once again. First time in his home like he promised, Yue was tipsy but enough to enjoy herself as well as zuko, a buzz to have a good time.

Yue whispered something in zukos ear to make him blush and push her away smiling. She was getting tired as well and he gave her directions to his room to rest for the night as Zuko knew he wouldn't be sleeping any time soon.

"You did good today Zuko, I'm proud," Yue hugged him again.

Katara watched them from a distance with a soft smile, Yue was a genuine friend to him, she was glad people were able to show him kindness, especially Yue as she was on the opposite side of the war until now. Today was a day for change.

She saw The two eldest walked off as Zuko lead Yue to his room for her to sleep, making sure she got there safe. He was a gentleman after all.

"Are you going to tell Katara soon?" Yue asked as they finally could hear themselves at a normal voice level and think again.

"Tell her what?" Zuko walked with his hands behind his back.

"That You love her dummy, it's rude to not tell your wife you love her," she teased but Zuko blushed looking down.

"I'm happy as we are now, it's weird now that people are going to be referring us as each others spouses now, it doesn't feel real," Zuko sighed softly.

"So your not?" Yue pursed her lips.

"No, I don't think I can, I can't put that burden on her," he shook his head.

"You never know, she may return the feeling one day," she looked at him hopeful.

"Maybe one day, but not today, I came with you to make sure you don't end up in the wrong room, not to get lectured," Zuko smiled again but there was a hint of sadness in his tone.

"You smile with her, stay that way, be with someone that makes you smile... I envy your marriage for that," yue whispered the last part looking away.

Zuko looked down again understanding her forced marriage wasnt as kind to her freedom as his was. The man she married was only interested in the perks that came with marrying her, and her looks, and his own, but he didn't care about her, nor did she care for him but it was for her people.

"Enjoy not wearing a parka for a little while you're here Yue, I'm glad you could make it," Zuko assured her again. Who knows when the next time theyd see each other once she left again. Hopefully he'd be fire lord by then.

Zuko opened the door for the princess to his bedroom. Yue walked in with a long groan at the quiet calm air in his room as Zuko closed the door behind him and went to grab her another blanket and more comfortable clothes.

Zuko went into his closet but heard an odd sound from his room. He frowned confused if Yue was snooping again but gasped when something sharp impaled his torso seeing two figures in his room.

"Zuko!" Yue cried seeing red drop off of him and onto the wooden floors.

Zuko was in shock at the pain in his stomach as he looked at the young man that stared at him with hate and determination and twisted the dagger into the prince further, Zuko choked on his own voice.

"Your damned bloodline will be killed off, for our families and everyone your people have slaughtered," Jet snarled as he pulled the dagger back and impaled it again in zukos stomach.

"Zuko no! Let me go!" Yue screamed as long shot held her back.

"Ah-shit," Zuko held his stomach as he fell to one knee, the dagger was held to his neck as Jet watched him fall.

"Don't please! Don't!" Yue screamed with tears in her eyes.

Something didn't feel right, it burned where the wounds were from the dagger, like fire was eating at his skin, the burn Crawling through his skin like it wanted to climb to his heart. Zuko clenched his fist to his shirt as he gasped for air.

"It's not personal, we're just freedom fighters, it's just war," Jet shrugged at Yue as she was trembling in fear.

Zuko used the second to swipe his foot under jets and made the boy fall on his back with a cry and Zuko shook while her pushed himself to his feet trying to get to Yue. His vision was blurry but he could see her trying to fight against the other assassin.

Jet growled getting up and went to stab the prince in the heart.

Yue shoved long shot and broke from his grip and went to try stopping Jet from going after Zuko. She gasped when the dagger accidentally went into her side.

"Shit," Jet whispered wide eyes as he pulled the dagger back and Yue fell to the ground in shock. Red staining her dress.
