I regret agreeing to come along this excursion with my friends. I'll be the odd one out. Ryan will be with his girlfriend, and Jon's got that little crush on Sarah so obviously he'll spend more time with her. He usually does.

Sarah, Jon, and I were outside the theatre waiting for Ryan and Helena.

"I regret coming here." I admitted bundling up in my tan corduroy jacket.

"Will you stop? We're gonna have fun! I promise." Sarah pleaded shivering. It was cold outside.

Next thing we know, Ryan is walking up to us covered in a coat and scarf and he's.. alone.

"Hey guys!" he smiled as he approached us.

"Hey Ryan! Where's Helena?" of course Sarah had to ask.

His smile dropped. "She she had a family thing tonight. No big deal." Ryan excused with a shrug.

Interesting.

"Well, are we gonna go in or continue to freeze our asses off?" Jon asked with a laugh breaking the silence.

"I like the first idea." Ryan replied, a chuckle appearing. His smile could give us world peace.

"Ok. Let's go! I just bought us tickets for the next showing." Sarah shrugged.

"Hello Brendon." Ryan acknowledged me. I turned red.

"Oh um hi." I stuttered nervously.

He just smiled and walked next to me, Jon and Sarah leading the way.

"You don't talk much do you?" He asked me.

I just shook my head. "I'm not really one for words." That was a lie, usually it takes forever to get me to shut up.

"So, how'd you meet Jon?" He asked me.

"Well, he moved down the street from my house in 5th grade, we started walking to school together, and he's always been in one of my classes so I figured, wow he's pretty cool, I should keep this guy around. Seven years later, he's the best friend I could ask for." I explained and Ryan just looked amazed.

"Not one for words eh?" He smirked mocking me.

I just cleared my throat in response. It's like he wants to me die right here right now.

"And Sarah?"

"She was in my music class 5th grade year. We just clicked. By the end of the year, her, Jon, and I were inseparable."

"Cool."

Next thing I know, we're all in the theatre. Jon on one end, then Sarah, Ryan, and me.

Wonderful.

"So do you do anything with the school other than choir?" he asked. I shook my head.

The lights began to dim around us as he asked that. "Nope, all I am is a singer. But I don't care, it's what I'm best at." I chuckle.

"Shh! Movie's starting." Sarah snapped, and we began watching the movie.

~

Sarah was right. I did have fun. but now it's 2 am and I can't sleep because of the beautiful sounds of my parents yelling at each other.

it's only on the weekends too because that's the only time they're here to do it. The will fight over every little thing. Whether it's a dirty dish or taking too long in the bathroom, they'll find a reason to yell at each other.

I decided I've had enough. I grabbed my lavender sweatshirt and put it on over my t-shirt and climbed out the window, on the section of the roof, and down the drainpipe.

I was only in pajama pants and flip-flops but I didn't care. I just needed to get away.

I decided to walk to the 7/11 that was just a few blocks south of my neighborhood. I'd get me a Mountain Dew and then slowly walk back enjoying the nice quiet night.

And then it starts to rain.

"Shit." I mutter as I pick up the pace making it to my destination soaking wet.

I walked in to hear the slight 'ding' and the cashier looking at me like I'm psychotic. However, he knows me. He knows I come in here when I need to get away.

I grab my drink and a small pack of Oreos and walk to the cashier, who I know as Logan.

He was scanning my items when I notice a black silhouette catching my attention. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion and take my items without even a thanks.

God I'll never be able to live that down.

I see the figure walking down the direction towards my house. They don't seem to have a jacket. In the pouring rain? Why?

"Hey!" I called grabbing their attention. "Excuse me, mysterious figure!" I was shouting how waving my hands so they'd see me. Of course I was under the fluorescent lights surrounding the gas station so how could I not be noticed.

The figure came running my direction in anticipation of my appearance.

Then the silhouette becomes more clear.

It's Ryan.

"Brendon! Oh my god so happy I found you." He seemed chipper. I wanted to run away. Maybe he wouldn't notice me. Too late, he's standing in front of me.

"Ryan!? It's-" I check my phone. "1:34 AM and you're out here in the pouring rain! Without a jacket?! What in the hell's wrong with you?" Geez, now I sound like his mother.

He gives a smirk "I could ask you the same." He cocks an eyebrow waiting for a response.

I choose not to answer. Instead, he walks to the gas pumps and sits under the shelter provided. I sit next to him in silence.

"My parents were yelling at me." he began. "And I needed to let them cool down."

I nodded. He looked over my direction. guess it was my turn.

"Well my parents were yelling at each other. " I shrug like it's not a big deal and he just laughs.

"I guess you and I are not so different after all eh?"

"Who said we were any different?"

He nodded. "You have a point."

"Is your house far?" I asked hoping to leave this conversation as soon as possible.

"I'll wait till the rain stops."

Don't do it Urie. "Well, I only live a couple blocks away i-if you want to stay there for a bit. I mean it's a lot warmer." I laugh a nervous laugh.

Dammit.

He smiled. "Actually, that would be awesome. Thank you Brendon." We stand up, and we start walking the direction to my house.

I notice he's shivering like crazy and doesn't have a jacket.

"Here. Take my jacket." I offer unzipping the purple material. Why am I doing this?!

"R-really? Wow, thanks." He smiled slipping it over him.

Now I'm climbing up on the drain pipe, helping him up.

"Damn, how do you do this?" he asked struggling. I just laugh.

"Well, I've been doing this since I was 15. It just takes practice I guess." I shrugged opening my window and climbing in to the nice dry warmth, Ryan following me.

As I step into my house, I immediately close the window after Ryan climbs in, and luckily enough the yelling my parents caused had stopped.

I automatically see Ryan admiring my record collection.

"You've got a nice collection here." He said, his finger brushing over the spines.

"Thanks. I do enjoy records." I chuckle and he returns the gesture.

"Wow, Abbey Road. You mind if I put this in?" He asked me taking the record from the shelf.

"Yeah sure go ahead. It's one of my favorites."

"Mine too." He said as he put the vinyl in the player and the record began.

I lay down on my bed and next thing I know, he's here with me. I decided to ask a question that's been bugging me since we got here.

"So, you said you needed to get away, why not just go to Helena's house?"

"We're not really on the best terms right now." he mumbled with a sigh. "I think she's cheating on me."

Oh.

"Yeah.. I mean I kind of want to break up with her but y'know, when you're voted cutest couple since freshmen year, it's like a celebrity couple breaking up."

Ok now don't get cocky.

"I wouldn't know."

"You've never had a relationship?"

"nah" I shake my head.

And that's the last thing I remember saying before going to sleep.
