Chapter 9: Reality After The Meeting

"His name is ... Lyos Bimasaktyo," Garuvy said.

Krona is shocked after hearing Garuvy's words.

"... Huh ...!? Is that true ...!?" Krona asked.

While smiling, Garuvy nodded her head.

"W- What are you thinking, Garuvy!? He's dangerous! I already told you about him, right!?"

"What I think is ... we shouldn't treat him like a bad guy! That rule is too cruel! And people just obey the rule without thinking!" Garuvy felt annoyed.

"... No, Garuvy ... People are willing to obey the rule because they afraid that they will make him angry if they're too close to him ..."

"Oh, yeah!? Then I'm braver than most people here! Wouldn't that be embarrassing for them!?"

"Garuvy ... you must know that the emotions of most children are unstable. Most children in this village must have known about it. That's why they tried to avoid Lyos."

"They all know!? Are they really that smart? In my opinion, a few of them don't really understand about emotions, and they really treated Lyos like a dangerous person, based on the news they heard. That's the truth, but it pisses me off!"

"Oh .... Looks like you're quite smart, Garuvy."

"Of course! That's because I always get good grades at school! And even though I still can't get along with my classmates, I always observe them and hear what they say! Now I want to ask about the adults! Adults' emotions are more stable than children, right? Then why are they still avoiding Lyos!?"

"Well ... there are two reasons for it. The first one, most adults don't have time to talk with Lyos. The second one, the adults have no choice but to obey the rule, because the rule was made by Mr. Burthe Saviery, the Levytatia Village Head."

"What's wrong with Mr. Burthe, anyway?" Garuvy asked.

"Well, you're still a kid, so it's normal if you don't know anything. Everytime a villager breaks the rules in this village, Mr. Burthe always gives fines to the villager."

"Mr. Burthe didn't tell us that we will be fined if we break the rule to stay away from Lyos. However, the employees in my fashion shop told me that they afraid of being fined if they break the rule. Some of them have children, so they told their children to obey the rule in order to avoid the fine. That's why no one dares to get close to Lyos," Krona explained.

Garuvy seems worried.

"... I see .... I have become close to Lyos, so ... will we be fined?"

"I don't know ... I'll ask Mr. Burthe later. By the way, you said that you still can't get along with your classmates. You should have found your first close friend at school. If your first close friend is Lyos from outside your school, you won't be able to see Lyos on certain days. Do you understand?"

"... I already know that ... but ... I already tried to talk with my classmates in order to get along with them. They are shocked because it's the first time I talked so much in front of them. They started to be interested in me, but we're still not close yet. I'm not too interested in them myself."

"That's why I decided to look for friends outside of school. When I reached a field, I found Lyos. When I think about him, I realize that he has some similarities with me. He is one of the Bothyner Prodigies, and he doesn't have any close friends of the same age as him."

"Therefore, I decided to make him my first close friend, and I will become his first close friend too. I did it because it sounds interesting. Am I wrong for that?" Garuvy explained.

Krona remains silent.

"I don't want to do anything strange. I just want to become his friend. And don't worry. I won't make him angry." Garuvy continued.

"Looks like she found a new person to be pulled by her. Her "gravity interaction" is starting to create more directions. Looks like the direction towards Lyos is in full concentration like the direction towards me. Soon it will become like real gravity that can pull anything from any direction," Krona spoke in thought.

"... Okay .... Do what you want."

Garuvy seems excited.

"After all, you and Lyos are Bothyner Prodigies. Your meeting was destined." Krona continued.

"Yeah! Thank you forever, Mom!"

"Hey, that's too much. *chuckle*"

Krona stands up from her seat.

"Now I want to pick up your father. You have to look after the house."

"Okay, Mom!"

Krona leaves her room.

A few moments later, the car driven by Thomas and Krona comes to their house and enters the garage. After that, they come out of the garage and close the garage door.

After they entered the house through the front door, they saw Garuvy sitting on a chair while reading a children's magazine in the living room. Garuvy turns to them after realizing their arrival.

"Dad! I have good news for you!" Garuvy said.

Garuvy puts her magazine on the table and approaches her parents. Thomas is smiling, and it made Garuvy surprised.

"No need to explain. I already know," Thomas said.

"Oh, is that so? Well .... What do you think about it, Dad?" Garuvy asked.

"Congratulations for overcoming your fear! I'll give you something as a reward," Thomas replied.

Thomas takes a wallet from his right trouser pocket. He takes a banknote from his wallet with his right hand. He gives the banknote to her daughter.

"Here's 5.000 Ang for you," Thomas said.

"What!?" Krona is shocked.

"Oh, thank you, Dad!"

Garuvy receives the banknote with her right hand.

"I swear that I'll protect you forever!"

"Hey, come on .... *chuckle* I just gave you money ..." Thomas said.

"Is it that easy for you to give her money? You're too kind," Krona said.

"No .... You're too fierce if you say so. By the way, why does Garuvy keep saying "forever"? *chuckle*" Thomas asked.

"I told you that "forever" is now her favorite word," Krona replied.

"Well, she heard that word for the first time from me, so it's my fault for turning her like that ..." Thomas seems disappointed.

"It's okay, Dad! I like "forever"!"

"See? She likes the word, so you shouldn't blame yourself for that," Krona said.

"Well, then .... Do you have any homework, Garuvy?" Thomas asked.

"Ah, yes. I have one ..." Garuvy replied.

"Then do your homework before you forget, okay?" Thomas said.

"Ah ... okay. I will go to my room now."

Garuvy leaves the living room.

"Now, Thomas," Krona said.

Thomas nodded. Both of them are approaching the telephone placed on a table in the corner of the living room. Thomas picks up the receiver and dials several numbers. The numbers are 0,1,2,2,3,3,3,4,4,4,4, and 5.

In the Levytatia Village Head Office, Mr. Burthe sits at his work desk in his room. He is writing something on a paper with a pen. He is a 36-years old man with yellow hair and yellow beard. He wears green shirt and red trousers.

Suddenly, the telephone on his work desk is ringing. He puts down his pen, picks up the receiver of the telephone and places it on his right ear.

"Hello? This is the Levytatia Village Head," Burthe said.

"This is Mr. Thomas, the owner of Alfason Lamp Shop," Thomas said.

"Oh, it's you Mr. Thomas. What do you want?"

"Actually ... I want to tell you ... that ... my daughter has approached Lyos Bimasaktyo ... and they had played together earlier today."

"Oh, is that true?"

"Yes ..."

"Well, it's understandable because they both are Bothyner Prodigies ... but ... they played together for only 15 minutes, right?"

"No ..."

"What?"

"Garuvy is interested with Lyos, so she didn't hesitate to break the rule and play with him for a long time."

"What!? What is she thinking!? She shouldn't do that! If so, then you must pay the fine! The amount of the fine is 50.000 Ang! I forgot to inform this to the villagers."

"... Okay .... Should I go to your office now ...?"

"The sky is already dark, so you should come tomorrow. If you can't come here to pay it tomorrow, then you must pay it every month."

"... I understand ..."

"I apologize if I'm too strict, but I already told you about the rule and you should have controlled your daughter."

"... May I ask you something?"

"What? Okay. What do you want to ask?"

"Why does that rule exist? Some people felt that the rule is too harsh for Lyos, but they cannot do anything because they afraid of being fined. Maybe you should consider removing the rule." Thomas asked.

"No, I can't remove it. Listen, Mr. Thomas! The rule came directly from the Bothyner Lord. The rule applies in the city or the village where Lyos lives. The rule was first implemented in Lyos' hometown, Gryllia Village. Ever since he moved to this village, the rule was enforced here."

"The Bothyner Lord said that the rule is the best way to avoid the deaths of children at the hands of berserk Lyos. If I can't accept the rule, I will be fined by the Bothyner Lord! Moreover, if Garuvy died at Lyos' hands, my reputation will definitely fall! So, we must obey no matter what!" Burthe explained.

"... I understand .... I will pay the fine tomorrow. I apologize if I have disturbed your time. Good evening."

"Wait! Wait! Don't hang up the phone!"

"Oh ... yes. What is it?"

"I don't just ask for a fine. I want you to ask something from your daughter."

"What? What do you want?"

Thomas is listening to what Burthe said.

Around 08.00 p.m., Garuvy's family is having dinner together in the dining room. In their plates, there is rice mixed with chicken Soto. Each of them also has a glass of water.

After they finished their food, they start talking to each other.

"Okay, Garuvy. We're having dinner together because we want to talk about your action to play with Lyos for a long time," Thomas said.

"We have asked Mr. Burthe whether we are fined or not," Krona said.

"Oh, I see. So ... are we fined?" Garuvy asked.

Thomas and Krona remain silent for a while.

"... Yes .... I must pay 50.000 Ang to Mr. Burthe tomorrow," Thomas replied.

Garuvy is shocked. She is looking down.

"... I'm sorry, Dad .... I didn't mean to disappoint you ...."

"It's okay, dear. When you approach Lyos, you didn't realize if there is a fine, right?" Thomas said.

"That's right. It's not your fault," Krona said.

Garuvy felt annoyed.

"Why the rule was made, Dad!?" Garuvy asked.

Thomas and Krona remain silent for a while.

"... The Bothyner Lord said that the rule is the best way to avoid Lyos going berserk and killing his friends. It's for your safety, too," Thomas said.

"But I'm a kind person! I can be his close friend without making him angry!" Garuvy said.

"Yes .... We understand how you feel. If you want to be close to Lyos, do it. We won't stop you. And don't worry about the fine. Just think of it as a payment for approaching Lyos," Thomas said.

"Yes. It's not free to approach a Bothyner Prodigy who has Ferbothy Disorder, Garuvy," Krona said.

Garuvy seems worried.

"... Maybe I should return the money you gave me, Dad ..."

"No, just save it! It's a reward for your courage," Thomas said.

Garuvy is smiling. She seems relieved.

"... Thank you, Dad ..."

"You're welcome. Now, tell me. When and where will you see him again?" Thomas asked.

"Huh? Um ... I will meet him again tomorrow at 03.00 p.m. in the field with two swings," Garuvy replied.

"I see .... Have you finished your homework?" Thomas asked.

"N- Not yet ..." Garuvy replied.

"Then go to your room now and finish it. We've done talking," Thomas said.

"Oh, okay, Dad."

Garuvy leaves the dining room.

"You know, at this point, her "gravity interaction" towards you should be in full concentration," Krona said.

"Yeah, I hope so .... Now that Lyos is Garuvy's close friend, I'm curious about that boy," Thomas said.

"Oh, you want to invite him to this house?"

"Yeah .... If the boy comes to this house, we should welcome him well."

On September 9, 1986, in Levytatia Village, around 03.00 p.m. ...

There are 6 children making a circle in a field. If sorted clockwise, there are an 8-years old boy with green hair, a 10-years old boy with brown hair, an 8-years old boy with yellow hair, a 9-years old girl with long red hair, an 8-years old girl with short pink hair and a 9-years old girl with long purple hair in the circle.

The long red hair girl wears silver stud earrings. The long purple hair girl has two ponytails on the sides and wears golden hoop earrings. The green hair boy is carrying a soccer ball.

"Are you ready?" the green hair boy said.

When the ball starts to be thrown, the ball goes towards the purple hair girl, the yellow hair boy, the red hair girl, the pink hair girl, the brown hair boy and back to the green hair boy.

The six children keep throwing the ball in the same cycle. Suddenly, they hear voices from the swings in the field.

"Try swinging harder! *chuckle*" Lyos said.

"We will be knocked out if we do that! *chuckle*" Garuvy said.

Garuvy and Lyos are sitting on each swing. The swings are swinging back and forth. The two seems cheerful and having fun.

Garuvy and Lyos' voices made the six children in the circle stopped throwing their ball. The red hair girl is carrying the ball now.

"Hey, do you know who they are?" the red hair girl asked.

"I know the boy. His name is Lyos Bimasaktyo," the green hair boy replied.

"Ah, yes .... He is the boy who was ostracized because of that rule, right?" the yellow hair boy said.

"But he is playing with a girl," the purple hair girl said.

"Who is that girl?" the brown hair boy asked.

"I don't know her name either," the pink hair girl replied.

"Did she know about that rule?" the yellow hair boy asked.

"She should have known it," the green hair boy replied.

"How long has she been playing with Lyos?" the red hair girl asked.

"I don't know. Maybe we should approach them," the brown hair boy replied.

"Yeah, come on!" the pink hair girl said.

The six children approach Lyos and Garuvy.

"Hey, Lyos!" the green hair boy called.

Garuvy and Lyos are surprised. The two turn towards the six children. They get off the swings to approach the six children.

"What's wrong?" Lyos asked.

"Who is that girl?" the green hair boy asked back.

"Oh, her name is Garuvy. She is my new friend," Lyos replied.

Garuvy waves at the six children while smiling.

"Hi!" Garuvy greeted.

"Garuvy .... Do you know about Lyos?" the yellow hair boy asked.

To be continued.
