"The fireflies, follow the fireflies........." That's when I wake up. It's been three days since the funeral and every night I have this same dream with those same words over and over. I sit up on the bed and see that Leah is still asleep. The clock in her room reads 6:07.

I slowly get up trying not to wake Leah and walk out to the living room. As I get closer I can faintly hear that the TV is on. When I reach the living room I see what is on. It is on Disney channel, my favorite! Mickey Mouse Club House is on, but I don't mind.

I go to sit on the couch and that's when I see who is watching it. Zach. "Well hi, you're up early" he says. I sit down on the couch with him. "Ya I just woke up. Couldn't sleep." I say. He nods in agreement, "Ya me too."

Our conversation is then interrupted by a very sleepy zombie, also known as Leah with bed head. "Zach, you better not try to steal my best friend because that's not okay. And besides you already have one." says zombie Leah. I motion for her to sit by me which she does. She leans on me for a second and then falls asleep on my shoulder.

Zach and I watch Mickey Mouse Club House for the next two hours. Then Sofia the First comes on and my mind does a happy dance. "So how ar....." Zach starts, but once again is interrupted by a now normal and awake Leah. "Kate what time is it?" "Around 8:00 a.m. I think."

We all finish watching Sofia the First at 8:30. Then we go to the kitchen to eat breakfast. Leah and I have two toaster strudels Boston cream flavored. YUM!! Zach has cinnamon toast crunch cereal. I have just finished at 8:52 when Leah's parents wake up and the phone rings.

"Kaitlyn, its your aunt she wants to talk to you." says Silvia. "Okay one sec." I reply. I get up put my dishes in the dish washer and then walk to the phone. "hey aunt Sarah, what's up?"
"Hey Kate. If you're not busy today could you swing by home and help pack up your room. You can bring Leah if you want." My aunt had agreed to stay two weeks so that we can pack up, I can finish school, and so I can say goodbye to everyone. "Ya, that's fine I need to get some clothes for school next week anyway" I say. "Alright I'll see you then bye." She says an hangs up.

I walk back into the kitchen. "Hey Silvia could you drop me off at my house on your way to work today. Oh and Leah my aunt said you come if you want" "Ya that's fine Kaitlyn" Silvia says. "Ya and I'll definitely come" Leah says and then she gets up to go get dressed quickly. I just stay in pajamas though.

"You girls ready!?" Silvia yells to us from the door way. "Ya almost!" we shout back in union. Leah finishes getting her shoes on and then we walk in the kitchen. Silvia is grabbing all her stuff for work. She signals for us to follow her out to the car which we do.

It's about a ten minute drive from Leah's house to mine. When we finally reach it Leah and I hop out and wave goodbye to her mom. "So why did your aunt want you here?" "I have to pack up my room" "well let's get packing then." I can tell that she is upset because I'm moving, but she knows how to make the best of things.

We walk in and are greeted by my aunt's dog Bear and my cat Baby. Baby is really old and I have to leave her here when I move so it's really sad. Leah said she would take care of her for me though so I know Baby is in good hands. "Hey aunt Sarah we're here!" at first there is no response then "Okay come up stairs and start packing then!"

Leah and I walk up the stairs and in to my bedroom. The first thing I do is get dressed and pack a bag of clothes and other things to bring to Leah's. Once that is packed we go to the kitchen and feed the pets. Then we go back to my room to start packing.

By the time it is noon we have a quarter of my room done. We take a break to eat lunch. My aunt has bought us SubWay so we eat half of our sandwich and saved the other half for dinner. Leah has a chicken teriyaki, I have chicken bacon ranch, and my aunt has a meatball sub.

As soon as we finish we go back to packing. It takes us a long time to finish to. It is around 8:30 when we finally tape up the last box in my room. Silvia is on her way to pick us up, but won't be here for another 30 minutes. So we turn on the only tv not packed yet and watch Disney channel. Right as the show ends we hear the sound of tiers turning into the driveway. I look outside the window, "Leah your mom's here" I say. "okay well let's get going then and try to be quiet your aunt fell asleep during Jessie and you can tell she's tiered."

I nod and we head out the door saying goodbye to Bear and Baby in the process. We finally reach the car and hop in. "So what did you guys do?" Silvia asks. "We packed up my room" I say. Leah looks sad as I say this. Which in return makes me feel sad.

The whole way back to Leah's house no one speaks. All I can think is how much I'm really going to hate saying goodbye. Also how much I'll miss this place. How am I ever going to say goodbye to Leah. I just wish momma hadn't died and that I didn't have to move. I wish daddy was never lost and that our family was still whole.

I feel the car stop and I know we're here now. I look up, unbuckle, and hop out of the car. Silvia holds the door open for me and Leah and we all walk in. "You girls should get some sleep it's already pass nine and you have school tomorrow" "okay see you in the morning mom." We walk into Leah's room and collapse on her bed.

"Kate" "Ya?" "You won't forget me when you move will you?" "How could I ever forget you? Your amazing and quite frankly I think you know more about me than I do. Your a part of me that I can't let go." "Thanks Kate" "No prob now let's get some sleep we've got school tomorrow."

Tonight is the first time I don't dream about momma and her last words to me. Instead I dream of the memories that Leah and I have shared. I'll never forget her.
