I enter into the shop and walk towards the menu hanging up on the counter. Grabbing a cheeseburger and iced cola, I take my seat in a table in the corner.
I look around and discover all of the tables are filled up with group of friends or couples. I smile at myself, imagining myself among one of them. Maybe very soon I'll be in one of those circles, sitting with a bunch of friends, having fun altogether. Or maybe with a boy, holding each other's hand and having coffee together, gossiping about useless things only we'd understand.
"Can I sit here please?" A heavy male voice hit my ears and I look up.
A boy with black hair and black beard is standing in front of me with a plate in his hands. His hair is perfectly brushed backwards and his large frame nerdy glasses have added up to his innocent look. He's wearing all black like Harry but nothing else is comparable, not even close.
"Yeah sure." I smile and thanks me.
Before he could sit, all of a sudden, he trips over a leg of his chair and his plate falls down on the floor, causing his sushi to create a mess on the floor.
"Sorry." He tells while picking up the mess on the plate and I help him.
He walks to the trash to throw it away, mouthing me another sorry.
I feel bad for him. So I go the counter and buy the same sushi and a cola for him, without letting him knowing it. I return to the table and see he's talking over the phone, standing a little far from the table. He hasn't noticed yet that I've returned.
"Can you keep the seat for me?" he comes to the table and asks looking at me.
"Yeah sure." I smile.
"Don't buy your dinner again." I yell standing from the back as soon as I realize he's going to the counter to grab his meal. He turns around and comes back to the table. "I have bought for you already." I chuckle.
"You didn't have to!" He blushes and rubs his cheeks with his index finger and thumb.
"It's okey." I smile and we both take our seats again.
"Sophomore?" He asks having a bite of his sushi.
"No. Do I look like one?" I giggle.
"No not that. Most of the people here are sophomores, most of the freshers are at the orientation dinner, that's why I thought you're a sophomore too." He smiles.
"I'm brand new here. And you?" I asked sipping in my cola.
"Me either. Which department?" He asks being excited.
"I'm studying genetics." I tell showing much eagerness to know his.
"Wow! That's cool because I'm taking my degree in genetics too! You're my first friend here. We're friends right?" He asks smiling and I notice he keeps his tongue between his teeth while smiling and that makes him look more adorable.
"I can say the same. And well about friendship........." I look above narrowing my eyes, pouting dramatically, "Hi friend!" I chuckle.
"Hi guys, fresh potatoes?" Interrupting us, three girls appear in front of us hastily.
I look at them and notice that three of them are wearing mostly the same type of dress. But the girl standing in the middle is wearing the most gorgeous one, too gorgeous to wear somewhere without a party. And the weird thing is, three of them are blonde.
Please girls, neither I'm ready to throw noodles on your face and present myself as the new strong girl, nor I want to end up being the face of pity to everyone after hearing your rude remarks - this is the first thought which crossed my mind watching them! Shove them off Snow, this is reality, not Netflix.
"Erm...yes." I smile looking at them.
"Hi, I'm Ashley and I'm a sophomore. Everybody in this university knows me and they calls me B queen, you know Beauty Queen." She flips her blonde hair and continues, "Okay so, at the beginning of every semester, I arrange a party for all so that everyone can get to know each other, have fun with hot lads and cute guys like you." She pokes the cheek of the boy who's sitting with me and he gives her an embarrassing look. "So write down your cell phone numbers here so that I can send you the details." She finally stops and bats her curled up eyelashes dramatically. The two other girls standing behind her does the same and plasters a fake smile over their lips.
"I'm not coming Ashley, so I think my number isn't needed." He tells and I nod, causing Ashley to frown.
"Let's go girls. We've other important works to do instead of wasting our time for uninterested people." She says sarcastically and they walk away.
We both burst into laughter when they vanish from our sight.
"We've other important works to do instead of wasting our time." I say making a face causing him to laugh louder.
"I used to hate these kind of Mean Girls look alike girls in schools. You know, the dominant girls in groups. By the way, Zayn here." He tells pressing the tissue around his lips.
"Uncommon and cute name. I'm Snow." I smile and we both walk out of the restaurant.
"Disney princess, I see." He smiles, causing me to smile with a blushed cheek.
During the walk, he tells me that he's staying in the dormitory with a boy named Liam and he's a really good company to keep with. Liam's majoring in applied physics and he's quite like Zayn.
He asks me about my roommate and I mention Harry but I don't tell that he's a badass. But I mention that I badly want to change my dorm room and he assures me that he'll help me in this issue. He doesn't even bother to ask me the reason behind it.
Wishing each other goodnight, we go to our separate ways. I climb on 3rd floor and knock on the door.
"Don't come in?" Hearing the indirect permission granted from Harry, I enter into the room.
"Where the hell were you hovering like a zombie? I've called you for 37493648 times! Can you even count that!" Harry yells jumping off his bed being panicked as I enter into the room.
"I was out for dinner and my phone was........in my room." I reply in a soft tone discovering that I've forgotten my phone beside my pillow and it was silent.
Looking at my phone, he sits down on the edge of the bed, burying his head in his hands. I hear him whispering to himself, one thing he does when he's pissed off.
"Sorry." I coo stepping forward. By his face I can tell he was really tensed and deserves a sorry from me.
"I was worried."
Oh.
"And scared."
Ouch.
"It's late."
Only 12:45 am? Oh, 12:45 am.
"And I'm talking to you." He tells tiredly looking at me now.
"And I was listening to you attentively." I tell making a puppy face. He looks at me for some moment and then smiles, shaking his head.
"Come here." He pats beside him on the bed and I follow his gesture without hesitation.
"Remember the time when you told me something in the restaurant the first time we had meal together?" He asks looking at my eyes.
"Yes we......."
"'Can we understand the world being so small and help each other to survive inside these four walls?' that's what you told. I know we don't like each other but we can at least pretend that we don't hate each other. That'll be good for both of our boiling nerves." He asks before I can answer and I nod.
"I agree but you act too clingy and disgusting sometimes." I pout and then feel nervous the next moment when I remember what he did last time to prove he's not disgusting. I don't want him to follow the same gesture to prove he's not disgusting.
"And you're too boring and emotional sometimes." He pouts and I giggle watching him pouting for the first time.
"What's so funny?" He asks tilting his head on a side.
"Nothing, you know I've made a new friend today." I tell to skip the topic.
"Unlike me, is she........"
"Oh, no, not she, it's a boy! His name......"
"Oh, good." He cuts me off looking down and then stands up.
Well he's not interested so I decide to skip this topic too.
"You're going to Ashley's party tomorrow?"
"No, I don't like parties. Such a trendy idea of wasting time." He replies surprising me.
"Oh..I thought......"
"Everybody thinks they know me by my looks but they don't." He half smiles and I smile too, unsure of what to tell.
I stand up and pull out a free size t-shirt and shorts. Changing my clothes, I lie down on my bed. I untie my hair before resting my head on the pillow.
One of my unique habits which is not going to change. I can never sleep tying my hair.
"You aren't gonna sleep?" I ask looking at Harry. He's sketching or drawing something sitting on his bed.
"Not now, night is too worthy to spend it by sleeping." He replies not moving his eyes from the paper above his knees. I try to understand what is he drawing but in vein.
"So you don't sleep at night?" I ask placing my chin above my hands.
"No. Not all night long." He tells, still deeply sunk in his job.
Deciding not to disturb him, I roll over and turn off the bedside lamp.
"Goodnight." He wishes and I wish him the same.
Rolling over and over in the bed for a while, which seemed like hours to me, I finally sit up and discover Harry still busy with his drawing. It's 2 am and I'm still awake.
"You haven't slept yet?" I ask yawning, pouring myself a glass of water.
"No, why are you trying to sleep? Sleep is that thing people can't acquire by trying because it is the most peaceful thing in the world. Peaceful things come as a blessings, they are not acquirable forcefully." He tells closing the copy and putting it inside his bag.
"Your words sometimes puzzle me, like it takes me time to understand if you're actually saying that deep shit." I reply blinking twice, pouting.
"Really, babe?" He smirks.
"I dialed the wrong number I think." I laugh.
"You didn't dial the wrong number, the call forwarded actually." He grins and I giggle, his sense of humor should be praised greatly.
"You giggle too much and I love the sound." He smiles.
"I haven't noticed. How does it sound?" I ask blushing, just to keep the conversation going on.
"Like a broken radio." He laughs and I throw a pillow at him. He grabs it playfully and throws it back to me.
I stare at his green eyes in the dark room, on the light of the yellow shade lamp. His green eyes looks so dreamy in this fade lights, so calm and peaceful and obviously it's a blessing.
