Fire With Fire - Chapter 15
The picture above/side is of the IPL Cricket League. If you aren't familiar with it, leave your question in the comments and I'll try my best to answer them.
Also, I decided to do a quote for the day thing from this chapter forth. So, the quote of the day today is :
"There are hundreds of paths up the mountains, all leading to the same place, so it doesn't matter which path you take. The only person wasting time is the one who runs around the mountain, telling everyone that his or her path is wrong." - Hindu Proverb

ANAYA
After I walked out of the home theatre like a boss, I went to the living room and switched on the TV. Guess which sport was on? Cricket. I'm a huge sports fan. Sure I also like shows like The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, MasterChef, TeenWolf, Supernatural, Beauty & The Beast, The Big Bang Theory, House and a lot more. How could I not? Have you seen the actors in those shows? They are freakin' gorgeous. I must say, they are most definitely a gift to womankind and mankind. Dylan O' Brien, gorgeous. Ian Somerhalder, hot. Paul Wesley, mind-blowing. Need I say more?
But the sports channel is also equally entertaining. Plus, I absolutely love cricket. The players and their skills. Damn. I personally love the Royal Challengers Bangalore Team and of course, the Indian Team. But since, the World Cup happened last year, it would not be happening this year and I missed the Test series finale too. All because of this stupid kidnapping. If they really wanted me, they could have just come up to me and gone like, "Hey can I kidnap you?" and I would have just kneed them and walked away. See, problem solved. If they really really wanted me, they could have offered me a million dollars and an unlimited supply of TV, WiFi and food and I would have gone with them willingly. Or, they could have just waited until after the Test series' finale to kidnap me, but no... they had to kidnap me the day of the finale.
So, now that IPL 20-20 had begun, I was ecstatic.
As I said, my favourite team is the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. So, when I switched on the TV, and found that RCB was playing against the Mumbai Indians, I started jumping up and down.
You see, when RCB, or any other favourite team of mine is playing against some other team, I become very violent. If anyone says something bad or offend RCB, or any other team I support, I'm not someone you really want to be near to. So, for safety precautions, unless someone is a fan of RCB, or my other favourite teams, they should stay really, really, really far away from me. Maybe half the city far. That will do them some good... and give them a small amount of safety from me.
'Never pegged you to be a cricket fan. I pegged you to be more of a basketball girl.'
'Do I know you?' I scrunched my eyebrows up. I had never seen this boy before. Then again, maybe I did. I just don't pay attention when I'm plotting against Avil or when I'm beating up Manu or when I'm insulting Kyle or when I'm fan girling with Gunda or.. Eh! Screw it. The list is way too long.
'No, but I know you. You're pretty famous around here.'
'Why, thank you.' I flipped my hair and bowed dramatically.
'No, seriously. Being the kidnappee, you were supposed to cower in fright and listen to whatever orders are barked at you, but instead, the kidnappers are following the orders you are barking without a question. Plus you've got some skills, girl. I saw the way you beat up Manu and Nick. Pity them', the boy said.
'I know I'm awesome, but thanks for reminding me', I said. 'By the way, what's your name, boy?'
'I'm a man', the boy growled. Pfft! Boys and their pride.
'You still didn't answer me', I pointed out.
'My name is Ryan', Ryan said. 'Happy now?!'
'Very', I smiled. 'Now shoo. No disturbing me while I'm watching cricket.'
'Can I join you?' Ryan asked. How cute! He asked me!
I nodded. 'As long as you're a RCB fan, you can.'
'Are you kidding me?!' Ryan suddenly shouted.
'What?' I asked.
'How can you be a RCB fan? They're so lame. Mumbai Indians are way better', Ryan said.
Oh no. He did not just insult RCB. 'How dare you? RCB is the best. We are Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli and many more better players.'
'Do you have Sachin Tendulkar? The man who broke so many world records. Of course you don't. Why? 'Cause he plays for Mumbai Indians', Ryan said.
'Shut your gob. RCB all the way', I glared at him..
'No', Ryan glared at me. 'Mumbai Indians all the way.'
'RCB all the way.' I stared at him hard.
'Mumbai Indians.'
'RCB.'
'Mumbai Indians.'
'RCB.'
'Mumbai Indians.'
'RCB RCB RCB.'
'MI MI MI.'
'RCB.'
'MI.'
'RCB.'
'M-'
'What's going on here?' Avil asked appearing in the room.
'Go back to where you came from', I said, now completely ignoring Ryan.
'Who asked you?' Avil questioned me.
'Seriously?', I raised an eyebrow. 'You just did.'
'I could have been asking Ryan as well, since you know, he is in this room', Avil said.
'Well, you could've also been asking me, since you know, I'm also in this room', I said.
'Ok then', Avil said. 'Ryan, what's going on here?'
'Just fighting about which cricket team is better', Ryan shrugged.
'What are the teams?' Avil asked.
'RCB and Mumbai Indians', Ryan answered. 'I support Mumbai Indians.'
'Are you out of your mind?' Avil shouted. 'RCB is infinite times better.'
Hah! Take that Ryan. I looked at Ryan and threw him a look that said, I told you so.
'No way, dude. Mumbai Indians is better', Ryan disagreed.
'Dude, RCB even sounds cooler', Avil said.
'Mumbai Indians', Ryan said.
They were going back and forth so I tuned them out and turned towards the TV screen. The match was half over. Shit! Arguing with the idiot cost me half a match. 'Just shut up both of you. Arguing about the best teams just cost me half a match.'
As soon as I said that, the idiots stopped arguing and turned towards the TV screen while sitting themselves on the couch. The TV had their undivided attention and I look at them, thinking to myself if they could be any more fools than they already are. There was an ad playing on the TV now for God's sake.
And then, just like that, after about five minutes, a commotion started. This time though, it wasn't between Avil and I, it was between Avil and Ryan. Why? Why, Chris Gayle hit a six of course... and a Mumbai Indian player, left the catch. So obviously, Avil was smirking, saying 'I told you so', while Ryan was throwing a tantrum like the child he is.
I just ignored them and focused on the match. Finally, one hour later, the match came to an end and of course, RCB won. This win of theirs led to Avil doing the chicken dance and me recording every single bit of it with some recorder I found lying around. Avil hadn't realised it yet, since his back was turned towards me. As soon as he turned around though, he stopped in his position. He basically froze, his mouth wide open and his eyes blinking rapidly as though he still couldn't get it into his thick head that I recorded his crazy chicken dance.
With his mouth still gaping, he initially came out of his shock and said, 'Pleas tell me you didn't just record that.'
'I didn't Peaches', I said.
'Oh, thank God', Avil let out a breath, but narrowed his eyes when he saw me stifling a laugh. 'Then why are you stifling your laugh?'
'Peaches, Peaches, Peaches. When will you learn that I will never let an opportunity like you doing the chicken dance go. It makes amazing blackmail. I only told I didn't record it because you begged me to.' Funny how he never learns.
'Screw you Anaya. Screw you', Avil shouted, frustrated.
'Wouldn't you like to?' I smirked.
'Huh?!' Avil said while everyone laughed at him.
'Come on man. You can't be that dense', Ryan laughed.
'He is more than that Ryan', Kyle said, appearing in the room.
'Of course you would know', I said as a matter-of-fact.
Ryan once again burst out laughing while Avil looked just as confused. Kyle was fuming, 'Hey!'
'Hi', I waved.
'I do not know how dense he is', Kyle defended.
I just went over to him and put my hand on his shoulder. In a comforting tone, I said, 'It's okay Kyle. There's nothing to be ashamed of. Know that I fully support you.'
'Ugh! Forget it! It's useless to argue with women', Kyle remarked.
'Good you learnt early. Else, you would turn up like Avil there', I said.
'You're gonna make me forget the main reason I came here in the first place. Lemme tell you the reason first then you can do whatever you want to', Kyle said.
'Go on then', I urged Kyle to continue to tell the reason he came here in the first place. When people are talking to me, they usually forget the reason they came to me soon. Not my fault, it's completely theirs for getting distracted in the first place.
'Well, you know how Gunda is the left hand man, right?' Kyle asked.
I nodded. 'Duh.'
'So, he must have told you about the Boss', Kyle said. When he saw me nod, he continued, 'Yeah, so, apparently, the Boss is coming here tomorrow... to meet you and Avil.'
I looked towards Avil at the same time he looked towards me. His eyes were widened and his mouth was opened. Me. I was just thinking, Well shit! I won't get to boss around these people much longer then.
