Miko's POV (Time Skippy~)
I was walking home when I had a panic attack.I searched through my bag and pockets
"Shit!" I cursed under my breath.I forgot to grab my keys for the house!And oh wow perfect Dad isn't going to be home until the morning!Yippee!I'm so freaken lucky ain't I?Nope!That was sarcasm!I sighed and rubbed my temples trying to think of a plan.What should I do?Dang it!I dorm even have my ID on me so I can't go to the police and ask them to pick lock the freaken door!I groaned and leaned against a pole, using my music to try and ease my heart rate.As in I put on some Jazz music.After a few minutes I saw a tuff of pink hair run by me only to stop and backtrack a little bit until they were in front of me
"Miko?" It was... Natsu?Why do I keep forgetting his name?!I took my head phones off and rested them around my neck
"Yeah?Got a problem?" I asked him
"It's 4:00 p.m, you should be home by now.Why are you not home?" I narrowed my eyes at him by accident by how irritated I was
"Locked out, forgot my keys to the house today plus my dad is working until morning." I stated and he lightly chuckled
"Go to the police and ask them to-" I cut him off by placing my hand over his mouth
"Can't, left my ID on my desk in my room." I stated and he rolled his eyes at me.He took my hand off of his mouth before speaking
"I know how to pick locks." SINCE WHEN?!
(In front of house front door)
Natsu was picking the lock to the front door for about 5 minutes now and I'm starting to doubt him
"Are you sure you know how to pick locks?" I asked him
"I went to college for this, plus I'm a little rusty." He blindly said
"Your still in high school."
"I know, just wanted to make it sound cool." I sighed shaking my head trying to hide a smile
"Well don't make it sound cool Mr. Dragneel." I teased him and he sighed when the bobby pin broke
"Yep your now locked out, got any place to crash?" He asked me
"No.Unless I go over to my uncle's place which is 5 miles west from here." I told him
"You can crash at my place.My dad won't mind." He told me.I raised my eyebrow at him
"Since when are you nice to me?" I asked him
"Since Friday.Now come on." He grabbed my wrist and pulled me to his house.
(Time Skip)
We stood in front of what should be a mansion
"You're rich?" I asked him and he nodded scratching the back of his neck
"Yeah... Wait before we go in, are you allergic to cats?" I shook my head
"Good." He opened the door and pulled me in with him.There was a grand stair case and everything.Okay I'm over exaggerating his house was big but wasn't a mansion and he doesn't have a grand staircase just a big star case to the second floor.He smiled at me before a man walked out of a room.He had red hair and black eyes
"Natsu, who have you brought home?" He asked Natsu
"Miko, she got locked out of her house and her dad isn't going to be home until morning.I let her stay the night with us." Natsu explained to the man.The man smiled kindly at me
"Hello Miko, my name is Igneel Dragneel, I'm Natsu's father." Igneel told me walking towards us
"Miko Austral." I said and he shook my hand
"Natsu do you mind if you show her to the guest room?" Natsu nodded before leading me to the guest room.I then noticed that he was still holding onto my wrist.I fought back a blush then soon we stopped in front of a door
"This is where you will be staying for the night.I will be right back, I'm going to get you some clothes." I nodded and he ran off.I entered the room gasping at it's beauty.I walked around the room setting my bag on the bed along with my light jacket that I had on.My silver eyes scanned around the room with awe.I felt a hand touch my shoulder having me spin around to see the silver eyes I have known for so long.I smiled at my apparition of Mom before she disappeared from sight.A tear escaped my eyes which I didn't bother to wipe away.I took my head phones off before looking down at them.There was a engraving of my initials on it.Mom did it for me, I remember her telling that music is a part if you that no one would ever understand.Now I barely take these off thanks to her.I heard footsteps walk into the room having my head snap towards the sound to see Natsu standing there with clothes in his hands.I avoided his eye contact realizing he saw the tear I shed resting on my cheek
"Why are you crying?" He asked me setting the clothes down on the dresser before walking towards me
"It's nothing." I told him putting my head phones around my neck.He caught my wrist before it fell to my side
"No, tell me." I noticed how his expression got dark.I looked up at him
"It's nothing, really." I told him and he shook his head at me
"There is something bothering you.I can tell.Please tell me." I sighed
"Just... Remembering my mom that's all." I shrugged
"I get like that sometimes too..." My eyes snapped towards his, locking with them
"Huh?"
"My mom died when I was 10 that's why me and my dad live alone in this big house." He told me sadly and I nodded avoiding eye contact with him.We were in silence for a while until he spoke
"That speech you made earlier... Did that all come from your heart?" He asked me trying to get away from the awkwardness between us
"Somewhat, my grandma was a great poet and gave me a few tips about it and the words the express your feelings and such." I stated and sat on the bed looking through my bag
"What are you looking for?" He asked me
"My phone.I want to let my dad know that I'm here and why-" I can across another note.'Secret Flame' my eyes widened.Why do I have to find it now?!He peered over my shoulder
"What's that?" I jumped at his voice being right by my ear
"A letter from Stalker Flame." He lightly chuckled
"Do you want me to leave you to read that?" He asked me and I shook my head
"Nah.Last time I found it, it was during Mr. Justine's class." I told him pulling the letter out and sat cross crossed on the bed.I opened it and winced.Paper cut!Natsu's eyes widened
"You okay?" He asked me worried
"Yeah I'm fine." I told him rummaging through my bag for a bandaid.I found one and put it over my paper cut before opening the letter fully only for another to fall out.I raised my eyebrow at this and decided to read the first one then the second one.Of course this one had different hand writing than the other two did
"We may not know each other but I observe your beauty from a far, I know you but you don't know me but has met me." I read out loud
"Grammar incorrect, 'you don't know me but did meet me'." I stated correcting the grammar error.I moved onto the second letter before reading it
"From the heart, moon, sun, and stars I will be with you.I will watch over you.I will protect you.I will make you laugh.I will make you feel awkward." I read before looking at Natsu
"That last part sounded as if it was from your speech earlier today." He stated studying the letter
"Do you know anyone with this handwriting?" I asked him.He tapped on the letter I was holding in my left hand which was the first letter I read
"Gajeel." He tapped the one in my right hand
"Wendy."
"Hmm.... Do you know this one?" I pulled out the first letter I have ever gotten from Secret Flame.He thought for a moment
"I think... Lucy?" I cursed under my breath.No wonder she wanted to help out so much!
"Okay so Secret Flame is friends with most of the Populars-"
"Populars?" He asked me with a raised eyebrow
"That's what everyone calls you and your friends Natsu." I told him and he nodded
"Continuing on, meaning that we both know Secret Flame." I stated
"Yeah, but why did you get two letters?" He asked himselfI thought for a second before getting a idea
"Natsu when is the next football game?" I asked him
"Next Friday, why?"
"Friday night I got the first letter, Monday I got the second, and today, Tuesday, I got my 3rd and 4th letters, I'm getting them on school days and Levy told me their is ten in total so there's 6 more to go." I stated
"Where are going with this?" He asked me confused as ever
"Secret Flame is giving me until Friday night to find out who he is!" I stated now figuring it out
"So at the end of the football game is when you know or don't know?" I sighed flicking his fore head.He yelped rubbing his fore head
"Meaning that I have until 11:00 p.m when the game will most likely end to figure out who he is!" I told him
"That's actually really clever..." He mumbled to himself
"Please give me a high five I need one after that." I rose my hand up waiting for him to give me a high five.He laughed before grinning and high fiving me.
