Huney faces doubt, and the village prepares for war.
As the Last Senniel approaches, an eerie silence settles over Tilaris. The sky churns with dark clouds, and the once-calm sea is now an endless storm. Tensions in the village reach a breaking point. The villagers, seeing the growing chaos, blame Huney for bringing the wrath of the gods upon them.
Huney, shaken by the fear in the villagers' eyes, doubts himself once again.
Villager 1: "Why should we trust him? He's no human—he's brought this curse upon us!"
Villager 2: "He's hiding something. Maybe it's better if we send him away before we all burn!"
Huney stands in the center of the crowd, their accusations washing over him like a tidal wave. Despite his strength, he feels powerless in the face of their anger and fear.
Huney: (to Meredith, quietly) "Maybe they're right. Maybe this is all because of me. What if... what if I can't stop what's coming?"
Meredith: (grabbing his arm) "Huney, look at me. You didn't bring this. You've done nothing but try to help us, to protect us. Don't let their fear blind you."
Huney: (looking away, voice trembling) "But I don't know if I'm strong enough. Not against this... not against what's coming."
That night, alone by the shore, Huney stares into the storm. He feels the weight of his destiny pressing down on him, but the fire within him, once a source of comfort, now feels like a burden. He wonders if Ignivor truly believes in him or if he was just another tool in the god's endless schemes.
Huney: (to himself) "Why me? Why was I chosen for this? Was it ever really my choice?"
Suddenly, the sky ignites in flame, and a vision of Ignivor appears before him in the clouds, his voice booming like the roar of an inferno.
Ignivor: "Your doubt is unbecoming, my child. You were not chosen by fate—you are fate. The fire that burns within you is the key to all that is to come."
Huney: (desperately) "But I can't do this alone! I'm not ready!"
Ignivor: "No one is ever truly ready. The flames will shape you, just as they shape the world. Embrace the fire, or be consumed by it."
The vision fades, leaving Huney alone once more, but with a renewed sense of purpose. He knows what must be done.
Chapter 10: The Fire Within
Huney faces the forces of the Last Senniel as the village prepares to fight.
The village of Tilaris prepares for the inevitable battle. Meredith, along with the other villagers, arm themselves with crude weapons and fortify their defenses. Though fear lingers in the air, Huney stands among them, now more determined than ever to protect the village that took him in.
Huney: (addressing the villagers) "I know you fear what's coming. I know you fear me. But I promise you, I will not let this darkness take us. You are my people now, and I will fight for you with everything I have."
The villagers, though hesitant, see the fire in Huney's eyes—not the destructive flames they once feared, but the burning resolve of someone ready to sacrifice everything to protect them. Slowly, they nod in agreement, rallying behind him.
Meredith: (standing beside Huney) "We're with you. We'll fight, too."
Huney: "Stay close to me, Meredith. Whatever happens, I won't let anything hurt you."
The storm breaks. From the horizon, shadowy figures emerge—creatures born of the Last Senniel, twisted and terrifying, their eyes glowing with the darkness of a forgotten age. They march towards the village, their presence warping the very air around them.
