Somewhere in Louisiana

The Hunding king sat down with the five shaman witches who have now laid down the plan out of how to get to Elijah. They now knew that he got back from the spirit world. Rebekah was the other one that they have to target soon, as she was now in possession of the plaque that held magical powers inscribed in it,

"Elijah of Anglia does not possess the magic of the the five of us... he is only a vampire!"- the shaman witch said- "his Norn mother was not allow to pass any of the magic to him by the ancient laws of not being allowed to meddle...."

"What of the Hybrids?"- the Hunding king asked.

"We made sure the blood of the second hybrid is cursed. He cannot sire other hybrids!"- the shaman witch assured him- " and the Bennet witch is no more!"

"Good!"- the Hunding king was happy. Everything was going their way.

The one thing he didn't know was that the wrong Deveraux witch was killed.

In New Orleans

Kol came to the kitchen after he had spoken to Elijah. He found Sophie curled up on the sofa that they brought in for her, so she would get rest from her reading. He removed the Grimoire that she had been reading and covered her up. He sat down at the table and stayed there as if keeping vigil. Was he falling in love with this feisty punkish looking witch or has he already fallen. He had a weakness for witches, but Sophie was different. There was a certain vulnerability under the feisty exterior that was drawing him to her. To find your kindred spirit was a quest of a lifetime.

In Elijah's room, Elena was getting ready to lay down. 

"It's nearly a break of dawn..."- Elijah thought as he changed his shirt and trousers.

Elena got out of the bathroom, drying her wet hair.

"Are you ok?"-she asked him.

"Yes... "-he said pensively.

"You're thinking about Klaus, aren't you?"

"The time in the void felt like eternal damnation.... I know what he had done... yet... "

"I am sorry..."- she said and sat down next to him on the bed.

"I kept remembering how it was .before we were turned... "

"Why didn't you leave Mystic Falls? Surely you could have gone somewhere else..."

"Father wouldn't... ah... we need to concentrate on you... Kol said that they got the Cure..."

"And Tyler is here... and he will have to try and train those hybrids... "

"You realize, Elena that some werewolves will have to be turned into hybrids..."

"I do... Sophie explained.... and Tyler said that they were killing werewolves too...those who didn't want to get into alliance with them..."

"Who is going to control those Hybrids... this could be an ongoing war..."- Elijah voiced his concerns.

Elena now understood the bigger picture.

"I don't want this life for you..."

"Sorry... all my friends are in this...you are in this... and I am the blood bank..."

"You have just said it... it sounded so crudely... the blood bank..."- he said.

"We will win this...!..."

"I thought about so much when I was in the void... all that has been and all that is coming..."

"Nature did this for a reason... duplicated me... there must be a reason why..."

"Maybe the reason was to kill us all and put an end to all of this..."- Elijah said.

"Why are you suddenly so pesimistic?"- she said and she looked at him as if this wasn't the man who was able to achieve everything he wanted.

"I am realistic... maybe it's being in the void...seeing Klaus condemned..."

She now embraced him. Her warmth streamed into him and eased some of the thoughts that were constantly like insects swarming in his head. He was glad she was there, and that he was back. Her scent, her hands, her sweet kisses was what he needed. He pulled her onto the bed and now the only thing wanted was to lose himself in her again.

 Rebekah, Stefan and Liv landed in New Orleans.  They were happy quest for the Cure was done and over with. They got a taxi and now were on the way to the house.

Caroline and rest of the party vamps turned up at the house as well. The feverish Damon was dragged in by Tyler and Katherine as he was having a hallucination attack. Caroline barged in the kitchen and found Kol reading at the table.

"The lot is back!... "- Kol remarked and then asked-"What's going on?"

Before Caroline could say anything, Sophie woke up, getting up immediately rubbing her eyes- "How long was I asleep? What's up?"

"Damon nearly killed some people..-his fever is super-high!"- Caroline informed her.

Both Sophie and Kol went to the Lounge to see him, followd by Caroline. 

Damon was now held down by both Tyler and Katherine as he wanted to bite them as well. He had his vamped out face on and his fangs out ready to bite those who were holding him still.

"Be careful!"- Sophie said- "don't let him bite you..."- she looked at Damon's eyes who was talking gibberish.

"Rabies - spellbound..."- Sophie said- she had read it in the Grimoire diary that Eilif gave her- "we have to tie him up- lock him somewhere" 

"He had been drinking of people..."- Caroline said.

"They will be dead now."- Sophie stated- "this is really turning into such a nightmare..."

"That's what they want!"- Kol said and now helped Katherine with Damon. After him she was the strongest vampire there, except for Elijah. But he and Elena didn't hear anything, since Sophie has put a privace spell onto the house, so they would be able to talk in the house without everyone eavesdropping all the time.

Kol suggested to take him to the place where they used to keep horses.

"The locks will not hold out"- Kol said- " I will go and get some stronger ones!"

As he got out, the taxi pulled up in front of the house and he now greeted Rebekah and the others. He briefly explained where he was going. Stefan went swiftly into the house wanting to see Damon and hear more about what had happened to his brother.

Liv went to find Sophie. She produced the Cure from her bag onto the table as she got to the kitchen. She also asked her friend how she was doing, and Sophie gave her the brief account about the last horrific events. Liv felt for her friend, but they had no time for sorrow. It was clear that the shaman witches have their work cut out for them.

Rebekah came in with the plaque she took from the pub in Norfolk, and Sophie was elated that at least this part was successful.

"What is on it?"- Rebekah wanted to know.

The witch showed her the inscription at the back of the plaque that were actually a words to a spell from the druid witch, she needed so she could perform a spell that enhanced the ability of the Original vampires, but especially Elijah.

"I am going to have a shower..."- Rebekah then said. Liv  went also to do the same. 

Sophie now went to prepare a shot of a herbal remedy to ease Damon's suffering.

Tyler, Caroline and Matt went each their way. They were still a bit hungover from the night. Katherine now stayed down the stables to keep watch. 

Stefan looked at his brother, who wasn't himself. 

"That witch is good...she will cure him..."- Katherine said- "maybe we can use the Cure to put Damon out of his misery!"

"I don't know who put you as the watcher... you will probably let him go?!"

"I care about Damon.. who got Klaus' blood last time he was bitten by a werewolf! Plus he is a danger to us all... we can end up like him..."

"Always looking out for number one!"- Stefan said and stayed, as he didn't trust her- "you can go.... I will stay here with Damon!"

"No... you are not strong enough to deal with him...plus, apparently...nothing must happen to you..."

"Excuse me?!"- Stefan was surprise she said something like that.

"You are an important link as you are, as well as Damon, descendant of an importan druid witch... your blood is very valuable..."

"How do you know this?"

"I lurk around... and get the important information!"

Elijah woke up and found Elena sleeping in his arms serenely. He kissed her on the forehead and she moved a bit muttering a 'hey' as she opened her eyes.

"Hey..."-he said using more and more her language norm.

"How are you feeling?"-she asked.

"Better... I didn't want to sound so ..."

"Depressing?"-Elena said.

"It is not in my nature to be that way..."- he mutteed looking at her warm chocolate eyes.

"It's all right. You are allowed to show humanity in you."

"This was a first... the monster in me is fighting many battles.... "

"Against weaknesses..."-Elena said.

"And all of it so much more enhanced."-Elijah said- 

She embraced him tightly.

A quarter of an hour before everyone gathered in the kitchen, Sophie called Elijah and Elena aside to tell them about certain changes.

"Elena... I cannot do the reverse spell... I am afraid... this is only for the supernatural creatures....and although you are one...you are not completely supernatural... all right... the only other option is Katherine..."

"You learn pretty quick about people's personality..."- Elijah remarked.

"I had to know who could be trusted... anyway... I guess she would not step up to  do the thing... well, her history tell the opposite..."

"What do you want me to do?- Elijah said.

"We will have to force her to take the Cure... I don't see anyway around it... the Hundings are killing all that have a werewolf gene... and although...vampires are probably happy that this species is down... you know the reports... "

"I will do it..."- Elijah said.

"Oh boy...she won't be happy about being human again!"- Elena said.

It was a swift action. Katherine was in the stables. Before she knew what was happening Elijah held her and Sophie adminstrated the Cure on her. And it worked. It was as simple as that. Katherine cursed both the witch and the vampire. Sophie drew the necessary human blood now from the girl.

"I am sorry... but... there was no other way..."- Sophie said and went out. 

Elena and Stefan were outside the stables, listening to Elijah and her.

"Are you finally happy...?!"- Katherine spat at him laying down now in raging tears.

"I am not...Katerina...."- he said- "... but... I do understand why you had done what you had done... we have used you again... "

"Get out!!!!"- she screamed at him.

Elena's eyes now welled up. No matter how she felt about Katherine, she shared her pain. The words about being used rang loud in her head.

In the other stable box, Damon was breathing heavily. Sophie had given him something to relax a bit, but he was not good.

"I am so sorry, Stefan."- Elena said.

Elijah now came to them. Katherine walked out of the box and Stefan now went to her.

Elena and Elijah now went to the kitchen, as Sophie now wanted to share the plan she had concocted.

"As you know... I have been reseaching these old Grimoires... one of them is a diary about all our ancestors that came together to fight the Hundings... it is written in the old norse runic language... so, I guess...hm..you can read it as Kol has translated most of it...anyway... as you all now know, Klaus could not return from the spirit world...but Tyler, as the first hybrid will be able to sire new ones. Being a withch, who actually pledged to fight against the vampires and hybrids, this was the hardest decision I had to make....but desperate times call for desperate measures...they will be trained by Tyler, Kol and Rebekah. The Hundings can only be killed by decapitation. I have researched some more... and there was a druid witch who helped Elijah's father to enhance his powers to fight against the Hunding king. I will use this, thanks to Katherines blood and Stefan's blood to give you similar powers as what the Originals have."- she looked now at Matt and Caroline and then continued-

"There are witches who are willing to help us...we still need to find the five witches that have joined forces and are using their ancestry line from the spirit world helping the Hundings immensely...even when we sever those links, the Hundings will not just disappear. Their power will be lessen and the things will be easier..."

She then looked at Jeremy- "You will have the daunting task to fight against the Hunding king when it the time comes. He will challenge Elijah... but you have the born hunter skills... I want to catch them with the element of surprise... The last sentence in the Grimoire said... 'may it be an evening star shines down upon you!.... I guess... you know what it means..."

The Originals knew what it meant.

It was clear that the fight was now upon them. They had to prepare thoroughly. Sophie was now ready to perform the spells on Caroline and Matt, Stefan, as well as Elena.
