06. We All Go A Little Mad Sometimes

"Are you freaking kidding me?!" a disgusted Lily said, entering the Lockwood's living room and seeing Hayley, wipe her thumb across Tyler's lip, wiping the alcohol that had fallen and then licking her thumb while giving Tyler a seductive look, Lily glared at her former best friend, "Do you just forget that you have a bloody girlfriend, you absolute dickhead!".

"Lily" a shocked Tyler said, "I didn't know you were here".

"Clearly" Klaus commented, appearing behind the Forbes werewolf, "But by all means, don't let us interrupt".

"What are you two doing here?" a confused Tyler asked.

"He's spiraling and I'm apparently babysitting" Lily informed, pointing to Klaus who was drinking alcohol straight out of the bottle.

"I'm not spiraling little luna, I just popped round to celebrate Dean's successful retrieval of the vampire hunter yet, when I arrived, I learned that not only was Dean unsuccessful but that Elena killed the hunter" Klaus said.

"Well, maybe if you let Dean use force on Connor instead of sending him on suicide mission" Hayley snapped.

"Hey!" Lily yelled, gaining Hayley's attention, "Strangers who we don't know or don't like, do not get to talk here".

"What do you care if Connor's dead, anyway?" a curious Tyler asked Klaus.

"I have my reasons" Klaus simply said, not revealing anything to Tyler, he didn't trust him to tell him about the cure, "They've ceased to matter, cheers".

Before Klaus could take sip from the alcohol bottle, Lily snatched the bottle from his hand and took a sip, making Klaus look at her in amusement, while Tyler and Hayley looked at them in disbelief, if it was anyone else who had snatched Klaus's bottle, they would have been dead, but here, Klaus said nothing to Lily, just stared at her with basically heart in his eyes.

The knock on Lockwood's front door caught everyone's attention, Tyler walked over to the door and opened it and immediately Caroline entered the Lockwood's mansion with a box in her hand, "I brought your stuff" she informed Tyler, "Old laptop, your jersey, the charm bracelet".

"Care, this isn't a good time" Tyler said.

"Just take it" Caroline said, shoving the box into Tyler's hand.

"When did this happen?" Klaus asked, whispering into Lily's ear.

"I honestly have no idea" Lily said, slightly hurt that her sister kept her break up a secret from her, she stepped forward and walked over to her sister, "So what? I don't get to know about my sister's love life now?".

"Well I would have told you but you were too busy with your secret plan with Stefan" Caroline taunted, "Yeah, that's right, Elena told me about your shady actions".

Lily scoffed, "My shady actions? Did she also happen to tell you about her murdery actions?".

"That was an accident" Caroline defended.

"Accident?!" Lily asked, "Please do tell me how Elena accidently bit into Connor's neck, Caroline?! You know what, it amazes me how you don't waste a second in defending Elena but when it comes to trusting your sister? You just can't seem to do that, can you?!".

"All right" Klaus said, realising things were getting too heated, he stepped forward and put his hands on Lily's hands, "Come on, let's go".

"No, wait" Lily said, shoving Klaus's hand off of her, she turned back to her sister, "You really need to make up your mind Caroline, if you want to be a good friend, or a good sister? Because clearly you can't be both", after she was done talking, Lily turned to Klaus, "Now we can go".

Lily walked out the Lockwood's mansion, on her way bumping her shoulder into her sister's.

Before following after Lily, Klaus turned to the other hybrids in the Lockwood's living room, "Come on, your talents are needed elsewhere".

"For what?" Tyler asked, wondering what did Klaus want with the hybrids this time.

"I think you've got more important things to deal with, mate" Klaus taunted, before following after Lily.

"Hey Lils" Stefan greeted, answering Lily's call while standing in the Gilbert's kitchen, he was here as Elena had accidentally stabbed Jeremy in the neck after hallucinating him as Connor, luckily Jeremy survived due to the Gilbert ring he was wearing, the one that saved him from any type of supernatural death.

"So you answer my little luna's phone, but not mine".

Stefan let out an annoyed sigh, "Klaus" he realised.

"Sorry Stefan, I tried to talk to you first but he's being extra stubborn today" a sheepish Lily said.

"It's fine, Lily" Stefan assured, "And Klaus, I don't wanna talk about it".

"Well, I can't imagine why, what with you ruining all my plans for a hybrid filled future" Klaus taunted.

"Well, wouldn't have happened if you hadn't sworn me to secrecy" Stefan retorted.

"True" Lily mumbled, making Klaus look at her, in return she just shrugged.

Klaus shook his head before turning his attention back to the phone, "Life's full of ifs Stefan, but let's accentuate the positive shall we, the hunter was one of five, we'll find another, it may take centuries, but we've got nothing but time, right?".

"You're using your calm voice today, who's getting killed?" a worried Stefan asked.

"Not you, if that's what you're worried about, Lily wouldn't let me kill you" Klaus replied.

"Thanks Lily" a grateful Stefan said.

"No problem" Lily said.

"But I am concerned about your beloved" Klaus said, bringing Stefan back to the conversation, "Have the hallucinations started yet?".

"What do you know about that?" a shocked Stefan asked.

"I'll tell you, where are you?" Klaus asked.

"I'm at her house" Stefan replied.

"How convenient, so are we" Klaus revealed, just as Klaus said, the knock on the Gilbert's front door caught both Stefan and Damon's attention, Damon who was also present at the Gilbert's to help deal with whatever was happening to Elena.

Stefan opened the front door and stepped out to talk to Klaus, "Hey" Lily waved.

"Hey" Stefan greeted, giving Lily a quick side hug.

"You know, this would all be a lot more civilized if I was just invited inside" Klaus said.

"Bad enough I'm out here talking to you" Stefan retorted, "What do you know?".

"I killed the original five hunters, remember?" Klaus reminded, "When one kills a hunter, there's a bit of a consequence".

"What kind of consequence?" a curious Stefan asked.

"A very bad consequence" Lily replied.

"The hunters were spelled by witches to kill vampires" Klaus said, "If you prevent one from fulfilling his destiny, then he'll take you down with him".

"What do you mean?" a worried Stefan asked, "Connor's dead".

"I mean, Connor's death won't prevent him from making Elena his final vampire kill, she'll need to come with me now, I'll lock her up, keep her away from any sharp wooden objects" Klaus offered.

"She's not going anywhere with you" Stefan protested.

"And if we leave her alone, she'll take her own life before the day is out" Klaus stated.

"She's stronger than that" Stefan retorted.

"Really?" Lily asked, "Stefan, we both saw what just killing Connor did to her, what do you think his hallucinations are going to do?".

"Believe me, it's for her own good" Klaus added.

Suddenly, Lily, Klaus and Stefan's attention went towards the Gilbert's front door, that opened and a panicked Elena rushed out, without wasting a second, Klaus speeded over and grabbed Elena before rushing them away.

Once Klaus had left, Lily face palmed, "Never makes things easy for me" she mumbled, as the two brothers looked at each other.

"Let go of me" Elena said, struggling in Klaus's grip as he dragged her into a room.

"Certainly" Klaus said, finally letting go of Elena once they were in the safety room, "I apologize for the lack of windows, it's to preserve the art, and of course to prevent you from taking off your daylight ring and burning yourself to death in the sun".

"I'm not gonna kill myself" Elena stated, wondering how could Klaus even think something like that.

"Oh, but you'll want to" Klaus said, "I did, problem is, I'm immortal".

"You went through this?" a shocked Elena asked.

"Yes, I did" Klaus confirmed, "For fifty two years, four months and nine days, I was tormented in my dreams, my every waking moment, relentless, never-ending torture, it was the only period in my life when I actually felt time".

"So you knew that this would happen if Connor died" Elena realised, "That's why you got involved, did Stefan know too? Did Lily?".

"All Stefan and Lily knew was that the hunter had to be kept alive" Klaus clarified, "You should've listened to them when they said they had it covered, love".

"What else do Stefan and Lily know?" Elena asked.

"That's one of life's little mysteries, isn't it?" Klaus mocked, walking towards the exist.

"How did you make it stop?!" Elena called out.

Klaus let out a sigh as he faced Elena, "I didn't, eventually, it just stopped, the hallucinations tend to appear in strange forms", Klaus knocked on the locked door, indicating for his hybrid to open up, "Don't say I didn't warn you".

As Klaus walked out the room, Elena tried to rush out as well but it was too late as the metal door was once again locked shut.

Klaus entered the Mystic Grill and immediately started looking around, a smile formed on his face once his eyes landed on the bar and he saw the person he was looking for.

"Considering the fact that your hybrid blew this place up, it still looks quiet good" Lily said as Klaus took a seat next to her.

"What are you doing here?" a curious Klaus asked.

"Contemplating" Lily replied.

"Contemplating what exactly?" Klaus asked.

"Everything" Lily said, downing a shot, "Did you know, Stefan is the only person in this town that trusts me".

"I trust you" Klaus informed.

Lily looked at Klaus and gave him a small smile, "I know" she whispered.

"Do you trust me?" Klaus asked.

"I'm in love with you Klaus, of course I trust you" Lily replied, making a huge smile form on his face.

"You know what I think?" Klaus said.

"What do you think?" Lily asked.

"You don't need anyone else, you and I can be enough for each other" Klaus said.

Lily chuckled, "First of all, that sounds kind of creepy".

"And second of all?" Klaus asked.

"And second of all, call me crazy, but I don't actually mind that" Lily admitted.

Klaus smiled, he stood up from his chair, he placed a hand on the back of Lily's neck and pulled her into a kiss and Lily gladly kissed him back while wrapping her arms around his neck.

Lily and Klaus sat at the bar in Grill, laughing and happily spending the night together when a panicked Caroline rushed over to them, immediately causing Klaus to let out an annoyed sigh, knowing Caroline was going to say something that was going make Lily mad and ruin their entire night.

"Please don't be mad" Caroline immediately told Klaus and Lily.

Lily let out an annoyed groan, "What did you do now?".

"Stefan went to Klaus's house to break Elena out" Caroline revealed, "Which he did, but like I said before, please don't get mad, because then he lost her", immediately a furious Klaus stood up from his seat, "Klaus".

"Caroline, you might be the sister of the girl I'm in love with but if you don't stop talking, I will kill you" Klaus threatened, turning to leave.

"They figured out how to stop the hallucinations!" Caroline called out, stopping Klaus before he could leave.

"Ten seconds" Lily said, downing a shot of tequila, "You have ten seconds to talk Caroline otherwise things are going to get messy".

"What she said" Klaus said.

"You're doing a good thing, Chris" Tyler assured the hybrid to Hayley had helped become unsired from Klaus, he was also the hybrid who helped Stefan get to Elena before she stabbed him in the stomach and ran away.

"Yeah" Chris said, "Well, let's see how fast it can get me out of town".

"Call me when you're safe, okay?" Hayley said, hugging Chris goodbye.

"Yeah" Chris whispered, after breaking the hug, he grabbed his bag and opened the Lockwood's front door, but suddenly he froze in his step when he saw Klaus standing infront of him.

"Going somewhere?" Klaus asked, stepping inside the Lockwood mansion, he wrapped his hand around Chris's throat and pinned him to the stairs railing, "When I said don't let her out of your sight, what did you think I meant?".

"It's not his fault, it's mine" Tyler said, desperately trying to save Chris's life, "I was distracting him, it's my fault that she got away".

"Then maybe you should be the one to die for it" Klaus said.

"No one has to die!" Hayley yelled.

"Didn't I tell you to that strangers don't get to talk to us" Lily snapped, entering the Lockwood's mansion and glaring at Hayley.

"Tyler's covering for me, I'm the one that let her go" Hayley informed.

"Hayley" Tyler warned.

"No" Hayley said, before looking at Lily, "You two want someone dead? Go ahead, kill me, I'd rather die anyway then end up as one of his sired little bitches".

"Great" Lily said, she looked at Klaus, "So can I kill her then?".

"Control your temptations, little luna" Klaus said, "She's not the one we're here for".

"An extra kill hurt nobody, but fine, whatever" Lily said, she turned to Hayley, "Consider yourself very lucky that I'm in a mood to listen to him today".

Klaus chuckled at Lily's words before turning back to Chris, "Your existence is to serve me" he reminded, "To please me, do you understand?".

"I'm sorry, look, I won't fail you again" Chris promised.

"No, you won't" Klaus stated, he finally let go of Chris and took a step back from him, "Get out of here".

Chris quickly walked towards the front door, just as he reached it, Stefan speeded over to him and stabbed him in the chest, making him yell out in pain.

"No!" Hayley yelled, as Stefan let Chris fall to the floor.

"Jeremy?" a confused Tyler called out, seeing Jeremy enter his house with an axe in his hand, "What the hell, man?!".

"I'm sorry" Stefan apologized, before giving Jeremy a small nod.

Jeremy looked at Chris, and after taking a deep breath, proceeded to chop his head off, causing Hayley to let out a scream while Lily just rolled her eyes in annoyance, there was just something about the werewolf that Lily didn't like.
