Safe at Last
You woke up a few hours later, quite out of it, but there. "hey dad! mom's awake!"
"MOMMY!" You cringed slightly. Loud voice. Familiar voice. "... Sans, Papyrus.." A hand squeezed yours gently. It was soft and warm. Comforting. It reminded you of a hearth. "We are all here.." Grillby murmured. You recognized his voice too. "Grillbs.." You blinked quite a few times, trying to adjust to the rooms lighting, before finally focusing on your family. Your skeleton monster sons and fire monster mate. You grinned happily. "Heya. How's my favorite boys..?"
"a little tired, a little relieved, a little mad, and a lot happy." Sans replied. "Mad?"
"That was stupid, and reckless, and I don't want you EVER doing that again!" Grillby confirmed Sans' statement with a firm rant. "I won't have too... it's over.." Grillby looked confused while Sans looked hopeful. "it is? we're safe?"
"Safe at last." You agreed. You and Sans seemed to know what you were talking about, so Grillby decided not to question it. All that mattered was that you were ok. "They said they'd have to monitor your condition for the rest of the week, just in case." You whined. Hospitalized for a week?!
🔥🔥🔥
The week actually passed faster than you thought, with the boys having started school, REAL school, there was always something new for them to tell you about. Both boys, unsurprisingly, were at the top of their classes. Of course, you knew they were intelligent young skeletons. Know you held both of their hands as you walked home with your boys. "Are you sure you don't want to take the ferry?" Grillby asked, unsure on if you should be taking an extensive walk after being bedridden for a week. "I need to stretch my legs, Grillby, I'll be ok." You promised. "Besides, if I do tire, I have you to carry me." You teased lightly, tail wagging. His flames turned pink and the boys giggled. "BIG STRONG DADDY!!!"
"very strong." Sans agreed. "Hey where does Undyne live again? Waterfall, right?"
"UNDYNE?" Papyrus asked hopefully. "You want to stop there?" Grillby asked. "Of course, I need to thank them for watching Pap for me. For us." You nuzzled into your mate. "undyne's it is." Grillby nodded.
🔥🔥🔥
You knocked on the rather... toothy... door. A green, red haired male fish monster answered. "Hello?" He looked at Grillby, then at Sans, then at Papyrus. "Um.." He was utterly confused. "Are Sans and Papyrus lost or something?"
"adopted, actually. these are our parents." Sans replied. "UNDYNE!!!" Papyrus called. "PAAAAAAAPPPPPPPYYYYYYRRRRRUUUUSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!" A blue, red haired kid ran in, nearly knocking her father over. "Come here you knucklehead!" Papyrus ran over, only to get harshly noogied. "NYEH! DON'T NOOGIE MEEEEEE!" You giggled. "Is that normal?"
"yep."
"You're.. Captain Persius, right?"
"That is right, ma'am.. so you're their mother?" You nodded. "I wanted to thank you for caring for Papyrus while I was... out."
"Of course, he was a treat to watch and is probably the only one who can keep up with Undyne's boundless energy." The four laughed. "And the other way around." Grillby replied. "There's been times when Sans would bring Papyrus to the lab and he'd pass right out." You nodded. "I recall those nights." Persius laughed. "They are good friends for each other! Feel free to drop him off whenever!"
"We'll keep that in mind!" You yipped as you called Pap over. "COMING!!!" Papyrus came out, panting like he ran a marathon. It made you laugh again. "Come on boys, let's go home."
And there. That's a wrap. That was fun! Then yet, I don't know a story that isn't fun to write.. ANYWAYS! Have a good morning/afternoon/night! Bye!
