Happily Ever After (Chrobin Week)

Sometime after the Endgame. Chrom

"Away, you beast! I won't let you near the prince!"

Luci waved a toy sword at me, standing in a protective stance in front of her one-year-old brother - who was preoccupied with chewing on his fist and drooling all over his blue onesie.

I laughed maniacally crouching down and brandishing my "claws". "Foolish warrior! You think you can defeat me?"

Luci whipped her cape (a blanket that was tied around her neck) and smoothed her nightgown. "I fight monsters like you in my sleep!"

Where did my little girl get so much sass? She's almost as cocky as Vaike! "Ha ha! But you are not asleep, young warrior!" I sneered. "For I am the King of Monsters! No mortal can or will even defeat me!"

"We'll see!" Little Luci charged at me, bonking my legs with her sword.

I hissed, shins stinging. "Ow! Lucina, calm down a moment!" I broke character. "Remember, these swords are fake, but they can still hurt people."

My daughter nodded. "Ok! Sorry, Daddy."

I smiled, ruffling her fluffy blue hair. "It's all right, just be careful." My smile twisted into a smirk. "Now, where were we?"

She continued to slash at me - albeit more gentle. "I won't let you touch the prince!"

I side-stepped the princess. "You're no match for me, young warrior! Never take your eyes off of the one you're protecting!" With that, I snatched up my son and held him away from Luci. Morgan giggled, pulling at my hair. "I have him, now!"

"Nooo!" she cried. "Let him go!" She charged once more, however, she was unprepared.

I snatched her up as well, making her drop the sword. Now both of my children were in my arms. "You're running out of options, little one!"

Luci kicked her legs about. "Not fair! We have to do something!" She wiggled a bit more. "We have no choice! Prince Morgan! Use your magic!"

As if the two had planned this (which most likely not, seeing as that Morgan couldn't even speak), my son smacked my face with his saliva covered hand. I roared in faux pain, falling to my knees. "Noooooooo! Water magic! My only weakness!"

Once she was close to the ground, Luci hopped out of my arms and went to find her sword. I carefully set Morgan down, he crawled off to do whatever his one-year-old-self needed to do.

"I will defeat you, monster!" With a cry of victory, the Little Warrior finished me off with the tap of her blade.

"How could this happen!!!" I trailed off dramatically, falling limp.

"What in Naga's name is going on in here?" Anna asked as she stepped into the playroom. I had no doubts that she was looking at the mess we had made over hours of playing.

I remained on the ground. "I'm dead. I can't get up."

Luci stood triumphantly over me. "Mama, I killed the evil monster!" She poked me with the sword to emphasize.

Anna stepped around me, going to get something. "Well, if you're dead, then I guess that explains why Morgan is off crawling unsupervised." I could hear his gurgle of a greeting to his mother.

"Morgan helped me fight, too!"

My wife giggled, coming closer to us. "Well, I'm glad to hear that, but," she crouched down, "there's a big secret that I must tell you, Warrior Lucina."

Have they forgotten me or should I just keep playing dead?

"This evil monster is my husband. He is your father." I could hear the smirk in Anna's voice.

Lucina gasped. "What?! The evil monster is my daddy?!"

I couldn't contain myself. I released a dramatic breath as I rose. "I am no evil monster, Little Warrior. I was under a curse and by defeating me, you've broken it." I brought my family into a hug. "I thank you two for breaking it."

Anna kissed my cheek. "And now we can all be a family again."

Luci nodded. "Yay! It's a happily ever after for everyone!"

My wife leaned in close. "You're cleaning this up." She was serious, but there was a hint of amusement in her voice.

I playfully nudged her. "Hey, I wasn't the sole purpose for this mess. Your children helped."

She huffed. "Then I guess it'll be a family effort."

I tightened my arm around her. "I love you."

"I love you, too," she rolled her eyes. "What brought this on?"

"Can't I tell my wife I love her without being questioned."

She giggled breathily. "You dork."

I kissed the crown of her head. "You married this dork."

"I know. And I don't regret it for a second."
