CHAPTER ONE:
WELCOME, PRINCESS
ENYA OF ALFHEIM SAT ATOP OF HER horse as they entered through the Bifrost and waited for the rest of her party to arrive. She stared in awe at the edge of the room, noticing the large golden kingdom gleaming in the distance.
"Patience," Enya scolded to herself as she gripped the reins of her horse tightly. "We shall be there soon enough." The young blonde's eyes landed on the guardian beside her and frowned.
Enya had grown up without her parents as they were always busy leading their kingdom: Alfheim. Her guardian, Isaiah, was like a father figure to her and he surveyed their environment. The young princess was now a thousand years old and one of the few desired princesses in the Nine Realms.
It was the 500th year anniversary of Asgard and it was tradition to hold a weeklong festivity for the royals in the Nine Realms, that ended with a ball. It was the only time each realm got along well with one another.
Enya was beyond ecstatic that she was able to go this year, she knew what would happen this week. The Princess knew her worth and how marriage to one of the many princes at the ball would help accommodate her small realm. If she were to marry a prince of valor, it would benefit her kingdom, the supplies she would be able to send back home.
"My Princess, we are almost upon Asgardian land." Enya nodded at the notice from the head soldier. She turned to Isaiah, a smirk sent his way.
"Princess Enya," Isaiah warned, noting the excited gleam that greeted him. The Princess smirked at him and cracked the reigns on her horse, bolting past the small procession of guards.
The young woman laughed loudly as her horse neighed, pushing her closer and closer to the city's entrance. Guards yelled from behind her, wishing she would come back. While guards of Asgard before the Princess yelled out her arrival, opening the gates.
"Princess Enya of Alfheim has arrived!" Her horse slowed down as people cheered out at her arrival. Enya smiled down at the masses, letting her horse slowly take the blonde woman to the palace's entrance.
Suddenly, Enya's horse stopped and people crowded her, cheering. Her smile faltered as she saw a small boy get pushed to the ground. Enya quickly pushed herself off of her horse, falling gracefully onto the ground.
The crowd pushed back, letting Enya walk confidently forward until she was crouching in front of the small boy with black hair who had dirt covering his clothes. She helped the child up, holding his hand until he was back on both feet.
"Are you alright?" Enya asked as looked at the young boy with a small smile.
His mouth hung open, in awe that the Princess was talking to him. His brown eyes were glued to the kind woman before he remembered to use his voice. "Y-yes."
The corner of Enya's mouth twisted up as he stared at her in awe. "Are you sure? Would you want this cool knife?" Enya pulled out a small beginner's knife that she once used as a child. It also helped the young ones start to dream: to become a warrior.
The boy took the toy from her carefully, "t-thank you, Princess."
The Princess got up, rustling his hair before a guard approached her to help Enya back up onto her horse. Applause rang out through the population surrounding her and she smiled once upon her steed. She blushed, surprised that she had acquired such attention.
Cheers erupted again and Enya turned herself around quickly to see two figures on horses trot to a stop in front of her. Enya's heart stopped as she noticed the two young men atop their horses.
The one in the front had a huge bright smile upon his face, illuminating his tan features and long blond hair. This must be Thor, Prince of Thunder.
Enya's breath stopped altogether when she looked behind Thor at the other man.
It was obviously, Loki, Prince of Mischief and Lies. He was stunningly handsome in a discrete manner compared to his brother. While his brother exuded warmth with his smile, his deep red robes, and golden mane, Loki was devilishly beautiful with dark hair, a knowing smirk upon his face, and eyes that looked haunting, as if searching for someone's hidden secrets.
The sea of people parted, letting Enya's horse slowly make its way towards the Princes. They all waited with bated breath, wanting to see their young princes interact with other royalty.
"Welcome, Princess, to Asgard." Thor boomed out, a warm smile on his face. His horse began to move slowly, urging the Princess to follow him and his brother towards the palace grounds.
Enya led her horse forward and fell in pace beside Prince Loki. She felt her heart beating wildly in her chest, wondering if either Prince remembered her from when they were younger.
"Pleasure to see you again, Prince Loki." Enya smiled at Loki shyly, watching the smirk on his features turn into a small smile.
"Trust me, the pleasure is all mine."
