I sat on the last empty table in the school cafeteria, waiting for Danni to come and finish getting her books out of her locker.

She usually took a little while to come down to the cafe from her locker which gave a perfect time for..

"Hey bitch" Lucy sneer as her and her posy towered over me on the other side of the table.

"Oh hello Lucy, always a pleasure to see you" I respond in a sarcasstic tone. I pull out my book to ignore them. I hope Danni comes soon.

Lucy pulls the book from my hand and I hold back the sudden urge to scream. "What is this?" she says as she holds up the book. "You've been reading this for more than a month now."

"Yes, though you would still be stuck on the first page if you were trying to read this, what's your point?" I say through gritted teeth, trying to control myself before I end up punching her.

"Well, I don't like books that much, but you do and you have a new book almost every day, have you found something to preoccupy yourself? Or maybe someone?"

"You are very observant. Though I feel you are slightly obsessed with me, Lucy. I am flattered but to be honest, it's slightly creepy and you're not my type. Sorry." I smile kindly.

"I've heard rumors, don't think you're important. So, who's the special someone? I think I could take a guess" Lucy scoffs.

"I have no clue what you are talking about.." I say blankly.

"Don't lie bitch" she takes a page from my book and starts to rip it out.

I jump up and try to grab the book out of her hand but she pulls it away. Suddenly it's ripped out of Lucy's hands by Danni.

"What the fuck is happening here? Oh look, Allison's book. Why did you have this Lucy? She never lets anyone touch her books" she says. Lucy is a lot taller than Danni but Lucy still looks a little scared.

"She was just letting me have a look at it, that's all" she tells Danni unconvincingly.

"I find that hard to believe since as I said before, she never let's anyone touch her books, especially when there might be harm done to them and it looked like you were just about to rip out a page. Allison, did you let her look at your book?" she says condescendingly as she stares at Lucy.

"I don't believe I did, to be honest Danni." I smugly reply. I have to admit that Danni is pretty scary right now.

"Wow. What a surprise! Why'd you lie about that Lucy? Y'know what? I don't care." Danni says happily. Lucy and her gang begin to leave but before they can Danni grabs Lucy's arm. "And 'bitch', never talk to Allison again, don't even talk about her, to anyone. If I heard you talking about her, to her or even if anyone says you were talking about her, I will destroy you so fast you won't even know what motherfucking hit you. Now leave."

Lucy is completely shocked and begins to give a response before Danni interrupts her "Leave!"

Lucy scoffes nervously and quickly went away to bother someone else most likely.

Danni hands my book back. "Don't listen to those assholes, whatever they were saying" she grumbles as she sits across from me and pulls out her lunch.

I look down at the slight tear in my book, sigh slightly, then close it completely and put it in my bag.

"Thank you.." I say as I let out a slight smile. "Don't you dare thank me for giving out to that asshole. It was a pleasure and I'd do it anytime. Is the book ok? I came as soon as I saw." she says.

"It's fine, it's only a small rip" I shrug as I begin eating my lunch. A shocked expression falls over Danny's face. "What. You're not freaking out about your book? What's wrong? Are you sick? Are you dying?" she asks concerned.

"Nothings wrong. It's not my favourite book, y'know." I explain. Danny squints her eyes unconvinced. "Is that why it's taking so long for you to read it?"

"Precisely" I smile.

It was one of my favourite books in the entire series.
