Am I still allowed to be pissed? I hope so. I may have chosen the boys, but that doesn't mean I agree with what is happening. Today is the morning after the girls party. They teleported themselves to bed when they were too tired and as the people went home, me and Finn discussed how to do this betrothal shit.

Nereus, the ever wise had the answers. I'm still not certain whether or not I like him.

"Ah yes. Well, Fontaine it's quite simple. They have a brief ceremony, where they promise to marry each other at a certain date. Then two engagement rings are given, one each and they are to wear them on a chain or on their hand until they are of age. Otherwise, life carries on as normal." Nereus smiled.

Finn still had his guts and continued to glare at the guy known as Calder the entire time. I found it amusing and ignored it.

"Very well. How do we begin the process?" I asked.

"Well first, you must tell his parents. They usually have no choice, but it's very likely they will beg to have the honour since you are Royal." Glokas interrupted.

"Ok. Then what?" Finn queried.

"A certificate is retrieved and signed. By you and them. Then the princess and boys say their names and promise to get married at the time of your choice." Coralie smiled.

"Your majestys I really must insist you choose someone more suitable. Common boys? Surely not." Calder interrupted.

Finn glared at him, and I could see his powers beginning to affect him.

"Leave the room, now. You despicable excuse for a person. How dare you speak that way to your King and Queen? And you dare to suggest our decision is not good enough?" Finn yelled.

"Okay, Finn that's enough. As for you, Calder, I suggest you do leave. It's best for us all." I ordered.

Calder bowed with a red face and walked out.

"Please prepare the documents. We will return shortly." Finn requested.

The guardians bowed and went out, and I gave Finn a hug.

"Are you ok?" I asked.

"Fine, just a little worked up. Calder is a piece of work." Finn sighed.

"I know. Come on, we have things to do." I smiled.

Finn grabbed my hand and we walked out to the courtyards. The guards helped us into the carriage and we headed out to where the boys families lived.

We visited Ryuku's first. He let us in and we told him to go play, while we spoke with his father.

"Your majestys! Please forgive this mess. My wife is still sick." The man now identified as Kade told us.

"Please do not apologize. We come to request your permission for something. We have decided we would like your son to marry our younger daughter, Bella. She must be betrothed." Finn began.

"The honour of such for my son? Are you certain? I greatly appreciate it." Kade blushed.

"It is an honour. We didn't know of the law, and we know our children are friends. Do we have your consent?" I asked.

"O-of course! It's his honour to have this position! We will do whatever to help." Kade smiled.

"Thank you. We need to explain it to the girls still. Please come to the palace at exactly 3:00pm sharp. The process is simple. You must sign it so we have your consent, then the boy will sign too. He must promise to marry her and wear a ring from now on. Otherwise his life will be normal." Finn said.

"Thank you your majesty! We will not let you down. We will be there. Thank you for considering my son." Kade said.

"No thank you. Let's go, my love." Finn smiled at me.

I took his hand and looked at Kade. "Bring your wife too, Kade. We will see what we can do to help her get better."

"Thank you!" He yelled as we left.

"Well that was easier than expected. Let's go see Eldoris." Finn grinned.

"Okay but I am in a lot of pain." I frowned ad yet another burst of pain shot through my body.

"We will have the doctor check you out later. We still need to talk to the girls." Finn replied.

{Time skip, 1 pm. They've already seen Eldoris family.}

When we got back, finally, we called the girls into our bedroom hoping to explain the situation.

"Hey Mommy, Daddy. What's wrong?" Bella asked.

"Yea, what's wrong?" Evie added.

"Ah, well, it's hard to explain. Please sit here ok?" I smiled, hugging Evie to my chest.

"Okay then. What is wrong?" Bella asked.

"Did you know there is a law about marriage of princesses?" Finn started off.

"No. What does that mean?" Evie asked.

"Well, it's a bit complicated. You see, because you are the Princesses kg your kingdom, you are next in line for the throne. But unfortunately, you have to be betrothed if you want to rule at all." I continued.

"Wait, betrothed? Doesn't that mean like, promised to marry? We have to be engaged like you and Daddy?" Evie frowned.

"Look who's been keeping up with their studies. Yes that is what it means. But we have to decide who you will marry ok? We picked someone who you might not hate." Finn added.

"Who? I don't want to be married!" Bella growled.

"Well, Evie you will eventually marry Eldoris. And you will marry Ryuku." I smiled.

"Wait our best friends? Mommy I don't like this idea." Evie frowned.

"It's the best option. Or its someone you don't even know." Finn cut in.

"Ok, fine. But when do we have to get married?" Evie asked, slightly crying.

"Hey, don't cry baby girl it's ok. Not until you are 19, and Bella you are 19 too, but a little bit later on in the year." I smiled wiping her tears.

"Oh, that's good then. I like this idea." Bella smiled a little.

"I'm glad. Now the ceremony is in 2 hours. Come with me, we will help you pick a nice dress." I smiled.

"Yay! Can we wear the new dresses that we got at our party?" Evie asked.

"Yes, of course!" Finn grinned, spinning her around.

Our little family wandered out to get dressed. I helped Evie and Bella bath and then Finn helped me do their hair in a French updo hairstyle for Evie and a upside down braid for Bella.

Once they were ready, we had their personal guards escort them to the throne room whilst we got dressed.

"Finn do you think we are doing the right thing? We could try harder to stop them." I fumbled.

"Sweetheart you can't do anymore than you are doing. Let's just get this over with." Finn sighed.

He offered me his arm and we walked out of the room and downstairs with our guards tailing us.

The boys fathers, Kade and Alon were wearing traditional Lemurian suits and so were their sons. I told the to explain the situation to their children and by the looks they'd done that already.

"Very well let's begin. Please come sign this paper, Eldoris and Alon." Finn ordered.

The men walked over and signed it, then bowed and looked at us.

"Okay, Evie honey, your turn." I whispered.

She hesitated slightly but came over and signed the paper. Nereus smiled at them.

"Okay your majesty's. Evie, Eldoris, please hold hands." He ordered.

They clasped hands, and looked nervously at us.

"Okay now. Repeat after me. I, Evie Nekton, promise to marry Eldoris silver on the 25th of July, exactly Eleven years from now once I have turned 19." Nereus recited.

"I, Evie Nekton, promise to marry Eldoris silver on the 25th of July, exactly Eleven years from now once I have turned 19." Evie fumbled.

"Thank you Princess. Now Eldoris, your turn. I, Eldoris silver, promise to marry Evie Nekton in the 25th of July, exactly Eleven years from now, when I have turned 22." Nereus smiled at the boy.

He gulped and repeated what Nereus said. We then gave them the enchanted rings they needed and Evie slipped hers on and Eldoris put his on his hand.

"Based on the promise of this union, these two now officially engaged." Coralie announced.

Nereus completed Bella and Ryuku's ceremony and then the group of them left to play.

I turned and started crying into Finn. He rubbed my back as I sobbed and when I finally stopped crying, we walked off into the veranda, and watched the girls  playing with  Eldoris and Ryuku.

"Yuck! Does this mean we have to kiss you two aswell? This is so ridiculous! We should just remove that notion from the nobles minds." Bella spat, her eyes glowing blue.

"Haha, you have to kiss me." Ryuku teased. Evie used her powers to shove him over and frowned at her twin.

"Trust me Bella. If I could've done that I would've. But you can't use your magic against something founded in magic, can you? Like it or not, we will have to put up with it. For the record, I'm not kissing you Eldoris." Evie smirked.

"Hey, no fair! You've got to! I'm not that bad." Eldoris pouted.

"Shove it, loser. I'm going inside. Oh, by the way, uncle Ant is probably gonna kick your butts." Evie called out in a sing song voice.

I giggled at my girls. Dear Lord they sure got my sassiness. Finn smiled at me and then Finn grabbed my hand and we walked inside.

Evie's pov

I do not approve of this at all. Can you believe it!? I don't want to marry Eldoris, he's my best friend! But I don't have a choice. I can't fight it. I know mommy and daddy don't really like the idea, but they can't do anything either. Stupid nobles.

"Hey Evie? Do you think we can fight to decision? I mean since we signed all that crap, I don't think we have much of a choice!" Bella asked me.

"Yeah, you're right. There's literally nothing we can do. Wait, how come Mommy and Daddy didn't have to be married? Let's go ask Nereus, he could explain it! There might be a loophole!" I exclaimed.

Bella grinned excitedly and we ran hand in hand to the room Nereus was in. Our guards followed us from behind and banged on his door.

"Her royal highness Princess Evie requests your immediate attention." Shamel my guard barked out. I giggled at his voice and stood up super straight as Nereus opened his door and bowed at us.

"Ah, princess Evie. I knew you'd come see me sometime. Perhaps Shamel can wait outside for you both?" Nereus suggested.

"A wise suggestion, Nereus. We will be out shortly." I nodded to Shamel, who bowed and walked outside.

Me and Bella then went in and sat with Nereus.

"Now Princess Evie, what can I do for you and your sister?" Nereus asked me.

"Well we were wondering why mommy and daddy didn't have to be married even though they became the king and queen of lemuria. I mean that does seem contradictory." I frowned.

"Well your Majesty, may I just say I'm proud to have a Princess who thinks for herself. Actually there were a few determining factors. You see, before your family returned, Lemuria hadn't had a Royal family ruling for almost 6,000 years. As you were aware, your father was going to propose to your mother. With that knowledge, it was easier to persuade the nobles to overlook the fact they weren't married. In addition, the King and Queen of the royal family technically didn't have to be married if the were both from branches of the Royal family. Since your father was a descendant of a Royal princess who married a pirate, and your mother directly from the Royal family, they technically didn't have to be married. Unfortunately for you, the law is very clear with your marriage. Most lemurians live for almost 50 times more than the average human, if they get sick and were to die. If not, unless they are killed like my family, many lemurians don't die. If generation after generation of Royals were to rule, it needed to be the same law for all of them." Nereus explained.

"Well that sucks. Nereus I don't want to marry my best friend." I sniffed.

"I know, princess. I'm very sorry. I wish I could help but there is little I can do." Nereus frowned.

I nodded and we thanked him for his time. Then we walked out of the room and headed back to ours.

"I guess we just have to accept it." Bella shrugged.

I nodded, still mad at what Nereus had said. "Lets go check on Ryuku's mom hey?" I offered. She was in the infirmary.

"Hehe okay, guess I should get on with her right?" Bella smirked.

I laughed and we wandered off, but on our way we bumped into uncle Ant. 

"Hey guys! What's happening?  Why are you in a rush?" He asked. 

"Just going to see Ryuku's mom. Did you hear the news yet? We're engaged!" Bella replied.

"What. The fuck. Do. You. Mean?!" Uncle Ant yelled, his face going red.

"We are engaged to Ryuku and Eldoris. Ask mommy and daddy." I shrugged.

He took off in the opposite direction without even a goodbye.  Me and Bella highfived and kept going to the infirmary.

Fontaine's pov:

After this whole ordeal happened, Calder requested a meeting with just me and Finn and him. I for one didn't want to. Finn on the other hand thought Calder might want to apologize. He was wrong.

"Ah your majesties! Thank you for coming. I wanted to talk with you about the betrothal situation. Did Nereus explain there was one way of changing the marriage?" Calder smirked. 

Was I right people?

"Calder, I don't believe I asked. He hinted at something but please enlighten us. I would love to fucking know." Finn replied. 

"The Princess can choose to exchange their powers for the complete cancellation of the contract." Calder offered.

"Ha. I already know neither of them would listen to nonsense. That's enough of this little meeting. Go away." I replied. 

I hugged Finn as he chilled off enough and we went to leave when Ant the tornado stormed in, fuming.

"And just when were you planning to tell me that the girls were ENGAGED?!" Ant yelled.

"It literally just happened. How do you know anyway? It's supposed to be private for now." I replied. 

"Girls told me. Now explain!" Ant demanded.

"It's a law bound in magic that gives us our powers. They had to be engaged to someone. We picked the boys." I shrugged. 

Ant frowned and walked out. "Well that was interesting." Finn laughed.

I grinned and then grimaced as a sharp pain shot through me again. Finn bent down to help me.

"Okay let's get you to the doctor now Fontaine." He ordered.

"Alright fine." I conceded as the pain came back again.

We walked off to the doctor and Finn ordered that I receive a full check over. 

The doctor made a lot of oohs and ahs, then went white as a ghost when he saw our babies image.

"I beg your forgiveness, King Finn. But it appears I missed something in the scan a few months ago. Your son can manipulate images, but there is something else. He can morph forms. And he's trying to morph right now." The doctor gulped.

"WHAT?! Explain this right now." Finn glared.

"O-of course! Um. So usually this doesn't happen until later which is probably why I missed it. It appears that he has 2 powers. He can manipulate images and he can morph into different forms. Because you are 32 weeks pregnant, he's old enough to begin using his powers if he wants to. And it appears he is attempting to morph now." The doctor said.

"What does that mean for Fontaine?" Finn asked. 

"Unfortunately it is the source of all the pain she's been feeling. And at this point, if we don't get the baby out, he could tear her apart from the inside......" 

"What are you saying?" I asked now slightly worried.

"If we don't force you into premature labour effectively immediately, you will die, Queen Fontaine."
