Finnian's final letter to his long since lost love before he passed in 1803:

My Dearest, John
           I shall be departing from this everlasting nightmare that I have found myself living in since you left for the heavens. I have missed you with a burning passion I can explain. I long for your embrace and the sweet sound of your voice. I seemed to have lost everything. I can almost catch a glimpse of your beautiful smile from the other side nowadays, which I suppose is a message from our lord that I shall be joining you soon. I do truthfully believe that my time has come, my love. I have been ill as of late and do not seem to be recovering in any sense. I hope that this pain shall end soon and I can join you on the other side John. Until then,
