Slight Sparkle Of Hope
Your P.O.V. INVOLVES KISSING!
This chapter is for mazerunner2017 because she wanted a kiss. I hope you enjoy:)
'What were you thinking?' you ask Felix and he stares at you, startled because he didn't think you would continue the conversation. He takes a few seconds to think, before he softly answers your question. And as he does, he fixes his beautiful blue eyes on you.
'I'm thinking about the car crash, and about Jack and you, about Mark, and Marzia of course. And about how tomorrow will be like,' he says. As he shows a glimpse of the soft and caring Felix, you blink.
And on the moment your eyelashes crash down, Felix turns over to you. Snapped from his thoughts he scuffles towards you. Your breath stops, and although your eyes are closed you can see the panic in Felix his eyes. A sudden wave of warmth rushes through your body and you feel sick, but you chose to ignore it.
'Y/N, are you okay?' Felix says, softly shaking you. Your eyes open up immediately and Felix relaxes. You see how his eyes once filled with anger and panic are now filled with relief and guilt. For some reason you feel bad for the Swede. He didn't want to run you over, and you know that. It is just a bit of a weird situation you are all in now.
Suddenly, you hear Matthias coming back from the hallway, his eyes tired and his phone in his fingers. He slowly walks up to you all and takes a seat, falling into his chair. His blond hair is a mess and his eyes are sad. He looks up at Mark, taking the courage to say something,
'Mark's family is flying over to here; they should be in Los Angles by tomorrow. Mark's mom is concerned about the tumour returning. I- I didn't know what to tell her, it's just-' Matthias sighs, looking at his friends in need of some hugs. You quickly understand as you wrap your arms around the YouTuber. He smiles softly on your warm embrace, as he was so desperately to get one.
While hugging his torso, you hear his heart beating fast. He must be panicking about all those calls. You are grateful for him doing all those conversations instead of you. And as he leans his head on your shoulder he cringes. His sleepy eyes look at you as you open your tight embrace and leave him in the dark.
'I'll get you some coffee, does anyone need something else?' you ask. This is going to be a long night and from experience you can tell that the bed is not big enough for six people. Plus, those "comfy" chairs are not that comfortable at all.
Everyone gives their order, some asking for thee and others asking for coffee. You take off, turning your back towards your friends before you are passed by a green headed Irishman. He smiles at you, taking your hand while the two of you leave the others behind.
Once you have passed the doors, Jack holds you even tighter, making it impossible for you to walk. You gasp as he wraps his arms around your waist and looks into your eyes, flirting without words.
'Penny for your thoughts?' he whispers and you smile at that goofy ball of sunshine. He chuckles softly, still holding you tight. You lock your arms around his neck and smirk, playing his little game. Another person worrying for your thoughts is trying to cheer you up, hoping you'd tell them what is actually on your mind. And to be honest, you can't lie to your boyfriend can you.
'It should have been me,' you whisper and Jacks expression goes from joking to surprised and deadly serious. As he looks at you as if you have gone completely mad, he responds with a well known: 'what?!' showing that he didn't expect that kind of answer.
'I should be in coma, I should be dying. Not he,' you say, slowly glaring into those stunning baby blue and crystal clear eyes of your green headed gamer. His Irish skin looses even more colour than thought possible and you close your lips, not wanting to disturb him any further.
'Don't be stupid, I can't live with the thought of you taking his place,' he whispers as he takes a safe distance from you. You feel cold as his arms leave your waist and you are left with no single piece of affection.
'You will have to understand that-' you try to defend your opinion but are given no change as Jack has now officially declared you mad.
'That you are sick and you will eventually end up in the hospital? I get that,' he says, taking the conversation to a whole different level. You sigh, knowing that he doesn't understand at all. Nobody ever has.
'You- You don't,' you stutter, slowly backing away from the perfect man you hold dearest. Jacks eyes turn sad, slowly realizing that you might know it better than he does. You have had this for your entire life; he has had this only for a couple of weeks.
'And why not?' He asks you gently, preparing for the answer that will hit him, hard. You sigh, you hoped this conversation would be later on in your relationship, but here you are, on the moment of telling Jack he WILL let you fall. Like all your other boyfriends did before him.
'Because when I get in the hospital, you'd visit every day and you would have to look at me 24/7. After a certain amount of time you'll get sick of me and leave me,' you say, explaining what has happened for all your life. No one has ever stayed with you for as long as you'd hope, because they were all too-. You don't know what they actually were, scared, sad or just arrogant? One day, if you ever meet them again, you'll ask it.
'I would never to that!' Jack protests, saying exactly that what everyone had said before him. Telling you the (possible) lie that you have heart too often. You want to believe him, you really do. You want to be his forever, to hug him every morning and kiss him every night, to tease him every hour that the day will bring, to grow old together and simply be happy.
'Then you are the first,' you respond and again, Jack seems surprised. His eyes look at you with sadness and yet a burning desire of love, and he promises you that day, that he SHALL be the first.
'Every single person I have ever loved has left me because of my medical issues,' you say softly. Jack takes your hand, gently letting his hand rise to your chin, making sure you are looking at his face. He has a slight sparkle of hope across his face, trying everything to give you the same hope too.
'Except F/N,' he smirks, making you realise that she has never and will never leave you.
'Except her.'
'And your parents and sister,' he smiles, showing you the wonderful crowd of people that love you.
'Except my little family.'
'And except me,' he says, pulling you into a couple hug, holding your waist with his big and yet so fragile hands.
'Are you sure?' you question, finally giving in on the powerful spell of love. And as Jack makes the spell he put on you even stronger, he smiles softly, completing the last piece of his awful and yet perfect day.
'Yes definitely,' he smirks.
'Really?' you ask again, wanting to hear it just one more time to give your confident a little boost. A boost you have learned to live with and yet found yourself being unable to live without, a boost stronger than any energy drink in the entire universe.
'If I would be more shore I'd be the beach,' he jokes and you giggle. Even after such a deep conversation, he is able to dig you out of the dirt and teach you to fly again. He is able to break your wings and heal them at the same time. He is able to push you off the cliff and catch you when you are only inches away of hitting the ground.
'That's a different s-'
'Just let me have this moment,' Jack whispers as he kisses you on the lips. A rush of energy takes control of your body as his lips play with yours, his eyes are closed, and you follow his lead, closing your eyes so you can fall in love, deeper than you ever thought possible. His mouth is the perfect shape for you, and as you remember how lucky you are to have him, you hold his neck, as he holds your waist, slowly walking towards the wall.
Your back hits the wall with a soft thumb, but you don't care. For as long as you have your Green tea. As an addict searching for more drugs, you lean further in the kiss, letting all your guards down for just this once. Jack takes lead of the kiss and locks his lips in yours, hoping to never let go again. And as he so slowly rests his hands on your waist, he pulls away from the fantastic moment, dimming the perfect light shining above the two of you. 'I promise to stay and never leave you, and I promise to love you with all the heart I have left. I love you,' he whispers, but you shut him up as you kiss him again, not caring about the people looking at you, not caring about Mark, not caring about everyone else for a second, you are sick of always worrying, sick of all the drama, sick of today.
