-----------------

As manik placed his first step in the room, he felt strange type of shiver, ran through his whole body. Gathering strength he raised his eyes up and looking at the first thing he felt his breath suddenly changed to short bursts. It was picture of Nandni standing besides...? Nandni standing besides him in her bridal dress. A hard shuddering tremor went through his chest as he slowly moved closer to that picture.

Taking deep breath he turned his eyes at other wall and two more pictures, both hugging each other and nandni laughing in his arms. Then he turned and found her pictures in every corner but looking himself in those pictures brought his sanity at edge.

His heart was hammering so fast, he felt like it would stop any moment. Everything cabir told him, was already messing with his head, but everything in this room damaged it further.

"This...this can't be true. I...I can't be in pictures. This....was This real. But how....!" Manik's breath was coming like short bursts, his words came out in a deadly voice.

Manik squeezed his eyes shut. Everything was tempting to knock his senses out of frustration and all the pictures he was looking at. He took few steps backwards when his eyes landed at every wall where he found with Nandni not any one else but just him. He settled for crushing his hands around nearest chest of drawers, until it's edges left imprints on his palms.

"It's Na..nandni an...and he....????" facing cabir Manik asked pointing towards picture in quivering raw voice. His curiosity was making him drained.

"He's...I mean Ma...Manik...???" He was mumbling like lost ability to actually speak.

"Yes, it's You. Manik Malhotra. Husband of Nandni Manik Malhotra. Only heir of Malhotra industries and son of Raj malhotra....!" as Cabir finished manik felt his knees so weak. He stumbled back when he was going to fall.

"No, it's... oh God. What I did.... when this.... I mean who was....!" he was mumbling, his incomplete sentences. He was trying to speak but couldn't get his voice. His condition was making cabir more concerned about him.

Manik squeezed his eyes shut. All the shocks he got today have messed up his senses. Everything started making his half-cured injuries painful and raw. He was gasping like unable to get enough breath to fill his lungs.

Cabir took huge risk to tell him. If anything happened to him he won't forgive himself. Manik sank into one nearest chair too shocked to register what to do. Manik had no clue where to start and how to digest that what had happened with him and how much his whole family suffered after him.

Cabir moved fast to sit across him on the hard cold wooden floor. He looked at Manik with his head in his hands, placing his elbows at his knees he was looking at floor.

"Buddy. Are you ok....!" cabir shook his wrist so that he can steal his attention. Manik looked up and cabir was stunned, his eyes were red, they were blank. His face was drained of any colour. With one swift motion, Manik scrambled to stood up from the chair. Cabir held his breath and waited for his next action. Manik blinked his eyes, and pushing cabir at side he ran out of the room like cabir wasn't even present there.

"I...I'm Manik Malhotra....!" Manik whispered lowly, while running down the stairs. He had no clue where to go. His head started being clouded, it's that heavy sort of darkness, like you can feel it when you try to think but there's nothing. Your mind is blank, the denseness filling your lungs and slowly suffocating you to death.

"I need to see them. Oh God What I have done....!" He kept walking while mumbling to himself when cabir tried to stop him.

"Where are you going. Manik listen to me...!" cabir ran after him and before he could run from the living room cabir held his arm. Listening his real name MANIK, at first he looked shocked but almost at once his face melted to a vulnerable look. He closed his eyes tightly when felt his head will get blast. He was living a life which was a complete lie. He was looking for his identity when his own family was thinking he was dead.

"I need to see them. I need to see my family. OMG what I did...!" Suddenly glimpse of life squeezing guilt came at his panicked face.

"I...I will apology. I will do anything to pay for my mistakes. But please take me to them. They will forgive me right....!" manik asked holding cabir's hand in his both hands. His hands were clamping.

"Relax, listen. They love you. They love you beyond limits. Why they would be angry at you....!" cabir patted manik's shoulder.

"I will take you there. Weather isn't safe for such long travel. Just let the weather to be little stable we will leave...!" cabir assured him while pulling him back towards a chair.

"One day you will come back to me. You will beg for my forgiveness" her those words felt like a whisper echoing all around, filling in him like cold, dark emptiness. Now her words started to make sense. Her those painful eyes were making him hollow and weak, as the darkness around him started to envelop him. He blinked his eyes to get rid of blur when he could listen only her words. Her screaming words cutting their way through the wind and hammering against his head. He felt dizzy like everything around him was moving. His body was like stone, cold and lifeless.

---------------

After several uncomfortable minutes in which both avoided to speak any further, finally manik gathered his courage. He looked up towards cabir.

"What I have done to my own family. I spent the whole time to find them, to find where I belong, about my parents my family and what I got at the end I ruined every thing by my own hands....!" manik was mumbling fisting his head in his both hands. Sweat coating his skin, like there was deep pain, when there isn't any shred of comfort.

"Why she didn't trust me. Just once she could tell me. My whole family was around me still they were suffering and what I did, I made their lives more miserable....!" manik kept mumbling like all words can wash away his guilt. He leaned back in the chair, his eyes drifted to window where thick rain drops still mashing themselves against the glass.

"Don't ever say that she didn't trust you. But cause of your injuries whenever you tried to recall you always faced consequences. She was afraid, we were afraid what if we forced your past and you slipped into comma again. So she wanted to bring your memories by keeping you around your family. That's why we all planned birthday party to bring you among all of us....!" Cabir said looking straight towards manik.

"She went through so much. Her life wasn't easy....!" cabir said lowly.

"Can you please stop beating around the Bush and tell me what happened exactly. How I ended up in America. And Victoria, she can't be my fiance. Please I want to know every thing...!" manik exclaimed.

"I think I can answer for this question....!" a third voice forced their heads to snap towards main entrance and there was Daniel. Manik was shocked seeing him but Cabir just smiled. It means cabir was already aware of his arrival. Manik understood that both planed everything together.

"Don't give me that look. Cabir was in my cabin when I came to have few last words with you. When we saw you still as stubborn as hell so we decided to follow our plan B....!" Daniel whispered covering distance between them.

"And answer of your question is that, me Victoria and Taylor came india when we found your injured body. Cause of your quiet serious condition we took you America....!" Daniel explained everything to manik. But extreme anger at his face was telling that he won't forgive Victoria for this. Or even he won't forgive three of them for keeping him under a complete lie.

-------------

This was the first time manik came to know who exactly was Alexander. He never knew it he was living the life of Daniel's own brother who died years back. Manik felt something was breaking bit by bit inside. Each piece was piercing through his already wounded soul.

As Daniel finished cabir went back and opened the bag he brought with himself. There were few news papers. Cabir brought and handed over to manik. He couldn't believe his own eyes when he found his picture at front page.

"Mr manik Malhotra's dead body still couldn't found" head line of very first news paper stopped his heart beat totally. Each news paper explained how he got lost. As manik finished all the news papers a heart wrenching pain left him unable to process any rational thought. He didn't know what he was feeling, until something hit him like a brick in the gut. The last news paper where nandni's picture was also beside him. She was looking breath taking with swollen belly when Aaron was in her womb.

"Aaron. He is my son. He is my baby boy...!" manik smiled as realisation came crushing over him, that little cute boy is his own son. Despite his tears, he sounded pleased and more excited than before to see them. Now his patience was on its edge.

"Please I want to see them....!" manik asked wiping his tears harshly.

"They left one month ago to live in their village house. She lost her job and couldn't pay rent....!" as cabir explained, manik wanted to say something, but there wasn't anything that would suffice. Abruptly he stood up like sitting there and waiting for the rain to stop, was most painful thing. Manik hissed when sharp pain ran through his entire head.

"Urggghhh...!" manik groaned with a sharp pain in his head. Holding his dizzy head manik stumbled back. Before he got knocked himself against the floor and make his injuries worse, Daniel came forward to hold him but manik held his hand up to stop him and totally refusing to acknowledge the plea in Daniel's eyes.

"I don't need your help. Go away. Please...!" manik said in cold voice. Daniel tried to talk, but he saw pure rage in Manik's eyes. But he didn't dare to feel offended because somewhere he was ready to face this day.

"Ok I'm leaving. I just came to give you something. When victoria found you, these things were in your pockets....!" placing his wallet and one locket at table Daniel smiled weakly.

" Cause of sudden Alexander's death, made her senses unstable. She never noticed that these things belongs to you not Alexander. He have died but still somewhere she feels he's alive. Please forgive her if you could...!" Daniel took slow steps backwards. Cabir gave full of sympathetic look to Daniel. He knew it manik loves them but at the moment he is angry.

"Buddy sit here. Don't stress yourself so much...!" Daniel smiled after seeing that finally manik also have other people also who care for manik even more than him.

"Take rest we will leave as soon as rain will stop. Way towards village isn't safe and it's long journey...!" cabir said while manik sitting stoic at the chair like a Greek statue lost and distant.

---------------

After resting for next four hours they decided to leave. Manik already standing leaning against his car. He was looking at his watch every two second. He doesn't want to waste a single second. He just want to see his family.

They could hardly see the road with the torrential rain that was pelting down from the dark sky. It was almost morning but still it was dark cause of thick black clouds. Windshield wipers were on the high setting. Having driven for six hours straight manik started feeling totally exhausted. Sleepless nights and lots of shocking stuff wasn't making any good with his injuries. Looking at his pale face cabir was getting really worried.

"If you want to take rest we can stop at any motel....!" after reaching the main land, cabir asked when he saw Manik continuously squeezing his temples.

"No. No I'm fine. I want to reach home as soon as possible...!" Manik replied looking so impatient to see all of them.

"And finally we are here.....!" cabir said while turning his car towards a long path leading towards a huge hawelli. Manik felt relief crashed over him but next moment he felt his heart begin to pick fast pace. As car stopped and horned, a man came to open the gate. Pulling into a parking spot, Cabir turned off the engine. Manik braced himself before opening the car door. He only got it open half before the wind winged it the rest of the way open for him.

"Ready to meet your family....!" Both came out and cabir patted his shoulder. Manik nodded his head. His heart was thrilled, indistinguishable either cause of joy or cause of the pain he went through.

Cabir rang the bell and when turned around manik was still stood near the car. Cabir gave him an assured smile, encouraged him to come ahead.

Just as manik stopped behind cabir door got opened. Manik was stunned for a moment. In front of him stood nandni. Long wet hairs falling below her waist and wearing sky blue shalwar Kameez looking breath taking. She smiled but by the time she finally turned her gaze behind cabir, her smile totally vanished. She looked like a doll made of stone.

She could practically hear the blood pumping hard in her chest. She held the door knob before her knees failed her.

"What are you doing here SIR...!" pressure at last word was telling clearly that she was really angry at him. Nandni become surprised when he returned a faint smile instead of being offended by her rude tone.

"Nandni bety who's there....!" the sudden, soft voice from behind nandni, made manik's heart leaping into his throat. Ishani came forward but seeing cabir and manik at door, her expressions weren't different from nandni.

Manik couldn't miss that twinkling shine through her eyes but next moment she collected herself strongly.

"Mr Alexander....!" Ishani took his name, an urge to take him in her embrace she pushed at side.

"Come inside. Rain is getting thick...!" Ishani smiled looking at water, was dribbling down their faces. Their hairs and clothes were completely soaked.

Struggling to regain his composure, Manik's eyes shifted back towards nandni, who was looking at him with anger and pain-filled stare. Nandni blinked at him for few seconds, digesting his intimidating appearance at her door.

"Let us come inside first, then you can ask whatever you want to...!" pushing the door fully open cabir entered inside. Nandni silently took a side giving them space to enter. Ishani turned around just took a step ahead when a faint whisper touched her ears.

"Mamma....!" listening that word into his voice, made Ishani's heart skipped all the beats and her breath got caught somewhere in her throat. Jerking her head around Ishani looked at manik, like making sure she listened correctly or it's just she's dreaming. Nandni froze and gasped so hard like she couldn't breath anymore. Cabir wrapped his arm around her shoulders. Nandni felt a bolt of icy shiver rushed through her entire body. Cabir squeezed her shoulder as they were shivering uncontrollably.

"It's your Manik not Mr Alexander....!" manik sounded sad under the hoarseness of his tone. Ishani felt her legs giving up. That one word he spoke have become a distant memory. Every night she listened that one word mamma, when in her nightmares his voice kept piercing through her ears. Ever time when she woke up reality always crushed her down.

"Ma...Manik....!" Ishani breathed heavily as Manik nodded his head before taking painfully slow steps towards her. Stopping close to her he embraced her into his arms. Ishani felt this has to be another dream, but thick arms wrapped around her, told her otherwise.

"Manik mera Bacha.....!" Ishani's cries muffled into his chest. All the tears that followed with unsaid things, seemed to have shaken all of them. Then voice of wheels stolen their attention towards the living room where Raj was looking at all of them with miles- wide open eyes.

"Bhaie sahib, Ma...Manik....!" making herself free from his embrace Ishani whispered in her sobs. Manik just stared at Raj, waiting to find any glimpse of anger at his face. After all he made them suffered. He fired their daughter and threw them into such painful situation.

Raj was still into shocked state. His eyes felt like they'd been pinned wide by the shock.

"Don't you want to meet your dad....?" Raj extended his both arms towards manik. Manik's smile wavered, as his lips trembled with overwhelmed feelings.

Manik came ahead and fell into his feet. Holding his both hands into his shivering hands he just cried.

"Sorry dad, I'm really sorry. I'm really sorry....!" He was whining like a child. Ishani came ahead and sitting beside manik she wrapped her arm around his shoulders. Looking at his helpless condition she cried into million tears of blood.

"Manik. Na mera Bacha...!" Her hand was moving into his wet hairs. Raj pulled his hands back from his tight grip. Cupping his face he pulled his face up from his knees.

"Don't say that. You were my back bone. You were my strength, you are my strength....!" Raj said sternly while looking straight into his eyes. Manik couldn't believe the strength and confidence, dripping from his wrinkled eyes. He felt proud to be son of such strong and kind man.

Cabir explained everything and all of them were shocked that how it all happened. It was unbelievable and completely unexpected.

"I don't remember anything. But I promise I won't allow myself to just wait that if I would get my memory back or not, I want to start afresh. I just need all of you....!" manik's voice was wobbled at every word, still sitting at floor in Raj's feet.

"Enough. Don't give yourself this much stress. Get up. Don't sit on the floor. Your clothes are wet and you will catch cold....!" coming ahead cabir patted manik's back.

Manik abruptly stopped when he listened a faint noise of crying. Manik's expressions turned into contrast of shock and eagerness.

"Aaron...!" manik stood up quickly, when he realised he didn't see his baby yet. He turned around and saw nandni standing while holding Aaron in her arms. He walked towards nandni. She ignored his presence when he stopped closer.

She tried to keep her red eyes on the floor. He extended his hands up like asking for her permission to touch their baby. She raised her gaze up and her eyes met with him. Manik felt a stab straight into his heart. She have been crying. He felt that strange obsession to protect her. To steal her tears away and to bring a smile at her lips, he never witnessed before. She took a step forward and gently she placed Aaron in his arms.

"hey champ....!" manik tightened his arms around his soft tiny body. He kissed baby's both cheeks then kept looking at his features like mesmerising that little cute bunny, God blessed them with. Manik's smiling face turned back towards nandni who was holding her tears back. Their eyes locked with each other. Right now it felt like nobody else was around them. Nandni shook herself out of the spell of his magical eyes, looking everywhere in the room except him. Manik came back where Ishani and Raj were looking at him, admiring the eagerness in his eyes for Aaron.

-------------------

"I...I will make breakfast with my own hands today. Where is nandni....!" Ishani's excitement was beyond limit. Now it was the time when all realised nandni wasn't there. No one noticed when she left. Looking at opened exit door it was sure she went outside but in such intense weather going out was a thing for all of them to be worried.

"I know where she went. Obviously her usual hideous spot to let flow her tears freely....!" shaking his head cabir chuckled lightly.

"She's angry at me....!" as manik said that, guilt in his eyes was so acute, he looked manic.

"May...I... go to see her....!" hesitation in his voice, betrayed his confidence. It was still awkward for him to take a move towards her freely. Everything was new for him.

"Come I will take you there...!" cabir said, came ahead from behind Raj's wheelchair. Manik looked back towards Ishani and Raj. Seeing an assured smile at their faces, manik felt encouraged. Both left to see her and Ishani took a deep breath like She was holding since the time manik came here. She wasn't able to control that content smile at her blooming face.

"She must be somewhere around. She is going to throw a temper tantrum. So brace yourself tightly. Go ahead....!" cabir chuckled, patting Manik's shoulder he signalled towards a lake behind their hawelli.

---------------

Few minutes before.

His tears and apologises while sitting in raj's feet, stung her heart more than she thought it would. Why his words he said before firing still have to cut so deep that the pain is still raw and strong. She promised that she won't forgive him easily when he will come back but now seeing his dark eyes filled with tears and guilt, she felt so weak and low. Then she realised, she needs to check Aaron who was still sleeping.

As she reached in her room Aaron was already was playing with soft toys placed around him. After dressing him she brought him downstairs. She tried to be as quit as possible, but as Aaron made a noise she felt how Manik's body got still and all the muscles stiffened under his suit. He stood up and jerked his body around. She couldn't ignore the way his eyes twinkle after seeing Aaron. All the way towards her, his eyes remained glued at Aaron.

For once She thought to run back upstairs but then deep down She knew it She wanted her baby to meet his daddy. She longed for this one moment when she will see Aaron in manik's arms.

The way He held his tiny body it was like he was assuring himself that it's not a dream. Ishanj Raj cabir and manik were giggling while seeing his cute little naughty acts. When feelings became so overwhelmed, she spun on her heels. Before anyone could notice, she kept holding her tears that wanted to escape, she left silently. It was entirely blurry outside cause of the rain. She needed air to catch her lost breaths. Her hands were shaking as she reached at her personal hideous spot.

This was unbelievable he was back. In spite of his lost memory he came back. He knows nothing about them, he don't remember about her but still he came back.

"Why did it hurt when he asked me to leave weeks before...!" she mumbled to herself. At one hand Her mind was screaming to push it away from her head. Whatever he said, it was just because he didn't know anything. She wanted to let it go.

"He was rude, harsh and insensitive. Knowing very well that what I will do without this job...!" once again her mind justified her anger towards him. She kept walking ahead till she reached the edge of the small lake. Rain drops were splashing against silent water of lake. Air was still blowing but it's intensity became slow. Her eyes were burning with tears and cold breeze was felt like heaven against her face.

She felt someone's presence because her body immediately displayed stiffness. She took deep breaths, so that cold breeze can sooth that burning in her lungs also but they were still blazing with each breath.

"Why you are here. It's cold and raining. You might be sick....!" She demanded, under her usually silky-smooth facade, her voice trembled. A breeze hit her like sharp ice. Her soaking wet clothes doing nothing helpful to keep her warm.

Waiting for few seconds patiently when she got no response at all. She turned around slowly, not expecting him to be standing so close to her. His tall figure towering over her so closely that she can feel warmth of his body. Nandni continued to look at him with attentive and searching eyes, as if trying to understand something which his mysterious eyes perhaps left untold.

Even he looked little shocked, may be not having idea that while walking slowly how close he have reached. His dark rapturing eyes kept arresting hers. Standing under his hypnotic gaze she felt her body on fire. She took a step back awkwardly as silence drifted amongst them.

He looked at her so intently that her heart started pounding hard and warmth invaded her neck. Her throat was painfully dry and she felt her chest empty.

"Go away...!" She glared at him. But instead of taking a step back He moved closer.

"Please I don't want to deal with this right now....!" She took a step back to keep the distance so that she can breath easily.

She just took a sharp step around to run away. That's when she was pulled back by her wrist and crashed against his chest.

"Please let me go....!" She struggled hard but to her disappointment he didn't. He was silent.

His other hand found its way around her stomach. Her icy cold palms she swiftly pressed on his hand, which was so warm against her stomach.

She didn't realise how cold her entire body was until it pressed hard against his chest. She tried a failed attempt to get herself free but no space was allowed to separate them. His other hand moved from her shoulder to her both hands, which were still grasping his on her stomach.

Manik hardly let her pull away to even breath. It felt so dangerous to be in his tight and incredibly strong arms. He leaned down, His warm breath fell on her ear. He lowered his face down, his lips touching her ear. Her heart was hammering so fast that she felt like she would be knocked down.

"So are you my wife....?" His question felt more warning than a statement. She shrunk her shoulders up when two days old bear felt so ticklish against her soft skin. Shiver ran through her whole body and she was sure about his smug look. Her shivering response definitely made his manly ego satisfied. She squirmed from his arms more forcefully, trying to break herself free.

"No. I'm not your wife. And let me go....!" She tried to speak more but couldn't find her voice. Rain was streaming down her face. She wanted to run away. She was trying to hide away. She needed space, to let her walls break down, inside of them she have buried herself years ago.

Suddenly her tears started making her eyes blurry. She couldn't handle herself any more. Her knees felt like jelly, her body stilled in his arms. She felt cold rain drops hit her face and washing away her tears. She wanted this pain to stop. She wanted to escape from these heavy feelings. When she couldn't stand the pain any longer, she broke down.

Hiding her face in her both palms she sobbed. Suddenly she felt his grip loosened around her and that was time, it became difficult to stand. She felt her legs wobbled, her knees buckled under her. She couldn't hold on any longer and fell on her knees. Wet grass doing nothing good with her already shivering cold body.

Manik didn't know what to say. He remained totally helpless as she kept on crying. With a sinking heart he was looking at her who was still kneeling down, holding her head in her hands she cried her heart out.

He didn't like it. He didn't like her crying and the mere thought about himself to be the reason behind those tears, pissed him off. He wanted to do anything for her to stop crying, hold her and kiss away her every pain, only if she just allow him to enter those abandoned territories.
