ALISHA'S P.O.V.

Prom is tonight. PROM IS TONIGHT!!!
As you already know, I'm freaking out. I can't wrap my head around it.  Neither can I believe that I'm actually going to prom.

At the beginning of the year, I was dead sure that it wasn't for me and I wasn't going but it's funny how things change. My worst enemy became my best friend, my family came back and now...heck, I'm even going to prom.

We were at the spa. My eyebrows are begging for mercy and so is my skin. Yep, we waxed. First time for me but Zarha seems to be used to it. We got our hair and nails done as well.

"Never ever again will I let you talk me into this." I said motioning to Zarha and Anne. Since the first time we went, it was Anne's idea. That time, we didn't wax. But now, never again.

"Relax. Stop being such a baby." Zarha rolled her eyes while Anne just snickered.

The only upside to this, my skin is glowing. Like really glowing and is really smooth. Alessia even agreed to tag along. I've said it before and I'll say it again.

We look good.

When we were done, we agreed to meet back at my house to get ready together.

"Sis, I need to talk to you." Alessia pulled me out of my afternoon nap.

I looked toward my nightstand to check the time. It was just four in the afternoon. Alessia knows how much I value my sleep so if she was willing to interrupt it, it must be important.

"What's up?" I sat up as she came to join me on my bed.

"I have an emergency. I know I said I wasn't going to prom but now, I want to. I know it's last minute. I just need your help." She breathed.

"Is that all?" I asked.

She nodded sheepishly.

"Okay. I wanna show you something." with that, I got up from my bed and to my closet.

"Close your eyes." She gave me a confused expression but did it anyway.

I brought out the dress I got for her when we went shopping the other day.

"Now open them." I said as I held the dress in front of her.

Her eyes went wide.

"Oh. My... How did you know?!" she said as she leaped on me in a hug.

"Call it sisters intuition." I chuckled.

"Try it on. Lemme see." I squealed.

"I love you, Sis."

"I love too, baby sister." I sighed.

She took the dress from me and tried it on. Like I had predicted, it fit her like a glove.

"How does it look?"

"Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful." I smiled.

My baby sister is growing up. I really brings tears to my eyes. She's not that little girl anymore. She's growing and I'm so proud of her.

After that, I couldn't sleep anymore. So I just lay awake on my bed, staring at the ceiling and anticipating what tonight may bring.

Not long after, I fell asleep. I was enjoying my peaceful sleep until Zarha, Anne and Alessia came waking me up.

"This'd better be good if you disturbed my sleep the second time today." I glare at Alessia and she just smiled innocently at me. A wide, genuine, toothy smile.

Now, I know that things are alright again.

"Lets get ready, Sleepy head." Anne chuckled.

"I need a shower first." I rasped.
After my shower, it was a almost six so we started. Anne wanted to go last because she and Zarha are the only ones who actually know anything about make up.

I just noticed the huge box that Zarha brought into my room. When she opened it, my mouth dropped at how much make up she actually uses.

Then she opened all the compartments and I was in more awe.

"Let's get started." she squealed and clapped her hands in her girly manner.

She attacked my hair with my curling iron. I was almost screaming in pain.

Umpteen hair pins, mousse and hair treatment later, she was done and moved to the next person.

Eventually, she was done. It didn't really take much time because of our earlier visit to the spa.

Then came the dresses and the make up.

Anne was doing our make up and started with me. As she sat me down and I looked in the mirror, I took us all in.

We've come this far together and are closer than ever and have each others backs.  No matter what.

We all looked so beautiful.

Then the thought of Jayden crossed my mind. He's been so amazing from the start to the finish, barring all the misunderstandings between us.

Even though I was the one that suggested we go to prom, he still asked.

"Alisha, I want you to close your eyes." he whispered. Guiding me outside.

"Okay, but where are we going? " I breathed and tried to sound normal but the truth is, I'm loosing it.

What does he want to show me?

The curiosity is eating me up inside but I still let him guide me because I trust him. I can't see, but I know he'll lead me. I may fall but he'll be there to catch me when I do. Sometimes, even pick me up and keep me going.

The I heard sounds of things exploding. Fear gripped me but then he held me closer.

"It's okay. I'm right here." he cooed and I instantly relaxed.

The explosions continued but I stood there, Jayden holding me, my eyes still closed.

"Open them." He pleaded and I complied.
The sight before me made me want to leap on him.

Fire works. Beautiful fireworks.

Fireworks spelt the words, 'Will you go to Prom with me?' and a heart by the side.

I looked over at him. I was already in tears. Happy tears are a regular thing for me now.
"So, will you?" he rasped.

"Do I have a choice? Even if I did, I'd still go with you. I love you, Jayden." I leaped on him and he caught me easily.

"I love you too."

"You're mean. You always make me cry." I cried into his shirt.

"I'm hoping these are happy tears." He chuckled.

"They are and they're because of you." I smiled. He held me closer and rested his forehead on mine, claiming my lips in a sweet kiss.

There is no place I'd rather be than with him.

When I looked in the mirror, I was an entirely different person. I'm not a fan of the whole face painting thing but this is just amazing. All my features, well defined.

"I look amazing." I exclaimed. She just shook her head and laughed.

Zarha was already doing Alessia's. When they were done, they did theirs.

Needless to say, we all looked stunning. When we were done, it was already seven thirty. I was trying my best to not smear my make up or at least not sweat it away.

Luckily, Zarha told me they it doesn't smear or wash away easily.

They boys arrived not long after and I would have laughed at the expressions on their faces when they saw us.

Yep, we look good.

JAYDEN'S P.O.V.

I hate barbers shops but now, I really don't have a choice. I didn't want a new hair cut, just a trim.

To the barbers credit, my hair actually came out great. So did Kevin's and Nick's.

The kid's actually not that bad. I've actually grown quite fond of him. My threat to break his legs still stands if he hurts my baby sister but he's okay for now.

Eventually, we went over to my house and got showered and dressed.

I hate formal wear. It doesn't go with me. At all but what can I guy do. Getting dressed in the suit, memories of the night I asked Alisha to prom flooded my mind.

She jumped on me and I gladly welcomed her.  She's just that special. The smallest hugs, kisses and cuddles make her happy. I'm just lucky enough to have her.

I had given one of my old friends, Jeff a call and he got me a Limousine.

Nothing wrong with riding in style...

Everything was set, we were all ready and early so we wanted to surprise the girls but we got the biggest surprise.

The girls looked like models. I hadn't gotten to see Alisha in her dress before but this is...wow!

They were practically glowing and my eyes were out of their sockets at how truly beautiful they looked.

They held their laughter at how stunned we really were.

"You look amazing." I told my beautiful girlfriend as I reached her and drew her to me. I really can't help it.

"You look even more amazing." she smiled.

"That's a lie. I can't look better than you." It really is the truth.

She smiled and hid her face in my chest.

"Who's ready for Prom?!" Zarha yelled and they followed all the echoes of excitement.

They greeted their mom goodbye and she hugged each and everyone of us before letting us go.

ALISHA'S P.O.V.

They rented a Limo. The boys rented a Limo. I'm filled with excitement and it's practically radiating off every one in waves.

Zarha's date is supposed to meet us at the entrance. We were all silent so we played some games and sang songs.

It wasn't a long ride but we still did anyway.  The driver opened the door for us and we got out. The hall for the event was huge. Everywhere decorated in beautiful black and white.

It was amazing to say the least.

Needless to say, Zarha really went all out on the decorations. I know we were supposed to help. We did but she just has more insight in this aspect so, this is all her.

"It's time for the slow dance everyone. So grab your date and get down here." She announced then went off the stage.

Then, a pair of arms wrapped around me and kissed my hair. I already knew who it was.

"Having a good time?"

I turned to face Jayden and locked my hands at the back of his neck and his on my waist  as we swayed back and forth to the music.

"Why wouldn't I? You're here." I smiled and so did he.

"Is there a reason you're looking at me like that?" he chuckled.

I smiled.

"It's just... We've come so far. To think I was the girl you saw crying in the boys bathroom that day and you were the boy I was trying to get out a project with at all costs." He smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, we kinda lucked out, didn't we?"

I smiled.

"And Zarha was my typical high school tormenter and Alessia wasn't even here. Anne was just the new girl. It's amazing how things change, isn't it?" I smiled as I recalled all the memories.

"Yeah. You've come so far from that girl with the thickly rimmed glasses that ran away from me in the boy's bathroom. Whatever happened to those anyway? The glasses."

"Nothing. I didn't really need them. Just wore them for the sake of it." I shrug.  It's true. They're still in my desk. I only wore them on the first day because I felt like.

"You know, it's amazing how far we've come together. The ups and downs. The highs and lows but I wouldn't change any of it. Not one single bit because I love everything you." I rested my head on his chest as he continued to lead us through the song.

"Really? Not even the Susan part?"

"Nope. Susan was a part of your life. What happened with her albeit wasn't right but everything happens for a reason." I explained.

"I wouldn't change it either. All that matters is that I'm here. Right now. With you. And that I love you." He placed a kiss on my forehead and then the song ended as Zarha claimed up the stage after a little while.

"This is your last chance to vote for who you want to be Prom King and Queen." She announced then went off, making her way to us.

"Are you having fun?"

"Yep."

"I told you so. Prom isn't so bad."

Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted Alessia and Nick talking, laughing and having punch. They look like they're having a blast in each other's company.

Then, came Anne and Kevin who looked like they were just doing something PG 16. Then, Zarha's date joined us. The schools Quarter back, Zach Walters.

Contrary to the belief that the queen bitch always gets the guy, they're nothing but friends.

"Let's go get our pictures taken." Zarha suggested.

Everyone else agreed.

"Let me just go get Alessia first." I excused and made my way to them.

"I'll go with you." Jayden said.

When we got to where they were, they were all up in each others arms. I couldn't help but smile and lean closer to Jayden who gladly welcomed me in his embrace.

When they detached, Alessia saw us standing there but the smile she was sporting didn't leave her lips and mirrored mine.

"Alright. Wrap it up. We need to take pictures." Jayden deadpanned and I elbowed him in the ribs.

We, the girls took ours first then the boys and then together.

The girls in front, and the boys by the side of each girl they came with. Hands on their waists and ours over theirs.

Jayden and I stayed behind to take pictures on the photo booth.

They came out amazing. It just made me smile. We looked so happy. There was even one where he kissed me in the booth. That one made me smile the most. Happy.

"We are showing those to our children." He smiled and so did I.

We went back into the hall and Zarha was already announcing the prom king and queen.

"This years Prom King is... Jayden West." Jayden looked shocked to say the least.

"What the—" he didn't even complete his sentence because Zarha was already dragging him on stage.

"This years Prom Queen is...a girl really close to my heart. An amazing human being and a real gem of a person. Alisha Brown, get up here."

What?!

What?!

What?! She had to be kidding. Me?!

"Zarha, what is this? I wasn't even nominated." I rasped.

"I nominated you. You deserve it. I didn't even have to do much." She smiled and grabbed the crowns, placing them on our heads.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this years Prom King and Queen."

"Guess you really are my Queen." Jayden smiled as he drew me to his side and claimed my lips with his.

The whole crowd cheered. People I had only ever seen around came to congratulate me.

"Why did you do that?" I ask Zarha as we left the stage.

"You deserve it. You got the highest votes. I only nominated you." She smiled.

I pulled her into a hug and smiled.

"Thank you."

"I should be thanking you. For everything. You made me a better person altogether. Thank you."

I'm crying. Its just so amazing how we got here. Someday, we're going to look back on all this and laugh.

"Enough with the tears." She laughed.

"I'm just emotional." I laughed.

"Yeah, well, you're making me emotional too." She smiled and it was just then that I noticed that she was on tears too.

The night went on and on. I've made the most memories in my senior year so I guess  it's true what people say.

"Anything can happen in Senior year." Mine and been one hell of a roller coaster but I was lucky enough to have the most amazing people take the ride with me.

Now, we're back at my house after a long night. We all look so happy and I wouldn't give this up for the World.

Eventually, I came back home with Jayden —with permission from my mom, of course.

Ergo, we're on his bed. It's funny to think this is where we started but as I said, I wouldn't change any-fucking-thing  about us.

I talked to his mom for a while, helped her on the kitchen and we even watched TV.

"I'm so happy he found you." She smiled.

"I'm the lucky one, Mrs. West. You've raised such an amazing human being and I'm just lucky to have him." I rasped.

"Please, call me Jade and don't sell yourself short. You're just as amazing and beautiful." she quipped.

"Your mom is nice." I said facing him.

"Oh really?" He said sarcastically.

"She also showed me your baby pictures." His eyes went wide. She did. Jayden was such a cute little baby.

But then, he shrugged.

"It's good for you to see what our future children will like."

I burst out laughing.

"Sure."

"We're graduating soon. Are you excited?" He asked.

"Who wouldn't be?"

He just shrugged as he was casually typing something on his laptop.

"Lemme see." I peep at what it is. He just shook his head and smiled.

"It's our farewell speech. I can't finish the damn thing."

"I can help."

"Really?"

"Sure."

A/N:

Prom is over. Next comes graduation. They've gone through so much together and I'm so proud of them.

I love them so much and wish them the best of luck.

On a totally still related note,  Finding us has just two chapters to go. We're getting there.
