ALISHA'S P.O.V
"For the umpteenth time, Anne. You're welcome. It was my pleasure and don't even think of returning that scholarship." I roll my eyes at her. It's the week after the competition and guess what?
She's still thanking me after I've told her it was okay and I honestly feel like she deserves it more than me and it made me happy to know that I made her happy. So, why the heck not?
"I just can't thank you enough. I don't think you exactly how huge what you've don't for me really is." She mused, smiling.
"Yeah, yeah. Put a sock in it." Zarha deadpanned, getting sick of hearing Anne speak.
We (being Jayden, Anne, Zarha and Kevin) were in Jayden's car, going shopping for... You guessed it.
Prom!
Sometimes I really wonder why I let Zarha talk me into these things and for the past week we (being Alessia, Anne and I) have been helping Zarha and the rest of the decorative committee putting things in place. Demi and Maya were even there.
Honestly, they weren't even half bad. They seemed totally different from the demons that used to torment me from my first week in freshman year to just eight months ago.
I guess people do change. I mean Zarha changed and she was their ringleader. So why can't they?
Jayden finally pulled up in front of a store which looks more expensive than what I would really want to spend money on but, I have to.
Unfortunately, Alessia didn't want to come and neither will she be going to Prom. She just helps with the arrangements. It bothers me that she's been down lately but I really can't force her to tell me what she doesn't want to.
Sighing, I out of the car.
This is going to be a looong day...
"Let's get started." Jayden announced as he locked the car and made his way to us on the other side of the car.
Reaching us, he drew me to his side. Keeping me there as we walked inside. I despised the crept up my face.
Entering the store, I didn't really see anything that caught me eye. I don't even know how to do this kind of thing. Luckily, I have Zarha.
We passed rack after rack, she in front and me trailing behind her as she continuously dropped hangers of dresses on my arms while walking down the aisles.
"Try these." She said as she pushed—literally pushed—me into the changing rooms.
"You know there is such a thing as please." I growled as I try the first dress.
Getting in it, I zipped it up. It was a bit tight but not tight enough that I couldn't breathe.
"You done? Lemme see." she ordered.
Sighing, I came out if the small room and Zarha's eyes went wide as she stared at the black, off shoulder, front slit dress that clung to me like a second skin.
"Jayden's lucky I'm straight. Otherwise, I would have grabbed that."
"There shall be no grabbing of my girlfriend." Jayden yelled from the other side of the door.
Zarha just rolled her eyes with a smile on her face.
"Sure." she deadpanned.
Looking at in the mirror, it seemed nice but I just wasn't feeling it.
"This isn't me. I'll try something else." She rolled her eyes at me. I wish Anne was here, she could have helped me with this but sadly, she's helping Kevin fish out a suit.
I, also have to be done with mine so I could help Jayden pick out a suit.
"Let's try something else." Her said pushing me in again.
I tried on dress after dress. None of them really felt right. They were either too tight or too big or not me.
I had already given up on finding one so we went back to the racks and just as a thought, I grabbed a royal purple halter crop top with a matching natural waist line, high slit, floor length skirt. Luckily, in my family, out tummies have never really been a problem. So she would pull it off with ease.
I have a feeling she's going change her mind about prom and when she does, I'll have this waiting for her.
Zarha and I went back to the main store to find something for her. No doubt, she found what she was looking for. Her dress was nothing short of stunning. And would definitely look great on her. To top it up, it was in some semblance ringer favourite color, pink. Yes, Zarha is your typical girly girl that loves the color pink. I, on the other hand, hate it.
Blue is the way to go...
Without wasting any time, she took it off the mannequin and rushed back to the changing room. I just shook my head at her and smiled.
Shaking my head, I turned to follow her into the changing room, a dress at the far end of the boutique caught my eye. The dress was nothing less than stunning to say the least. The blue color made it even more magnificent. It was majestic in every way. The way the material flowed down and swept behind made it all the more beautiful.
That's a dress I would definitely want to wear. Walking toward it, I took it all in with a smile.
Zarha appeared behind me, taking it in as well. When I turned to look at her, she looked so beautiful and the dress complimented her skin tone so well. It was hard for everyone in the store not to stop and stare. The fact that she could be a model only made it even better.
"It's gorgeous. You should try it." She said.
I shook my head to say no but Zarha wasn't having it. She gave me the 'I'm calling the shots now' look.
Rolling my eyes defeated, I took the dress of the mannequin and made way to the dressing room.
I struggled to get into it. I eventually did but there was just one small problem.
"I can't breathe."
"You can breathe after prom." She guffawed.
Sometimes I wonder why I haven't already strangled this girl...
I flipped her the bird and she rolled her eyes at me.
"It's perfect. You should get it. Your tits look great by the way." She smirked and I fake surprise at her last comment which earned me an eye roll.
"I'll get it. I like it."
"You should. It's beautiful." She remarked.
After a few more minutes of admiring the dresses in the mirror, we took them off and went to meet Jayden, Anne and Kevin.
As expected, Anne had already found her dress and it was beautiful. It was in her favourite color as well. The red spaghetti strap dress was short and showed off her shapely legs.
Honestly, this is what I love about us. Everyone has their own unique style and preferences but it's okay because everyone can be who they want to be, wear what they want to wear and we're all okay with it.
She had even helped Kevin find a good looking tux. In short, they did good.
Jayden looked bored out of his mind. I had to bite my tongue to keep from laughing at just how irritated he looked.
I went over to him and dragged him towards the men's section.
"Why do I let you talk me into these things?" he whined.
"Because you love me."
"Of course."
Just one quick question. How do you shop for guys?!
I have no idea but I'll try.
Just like Zarha did me, I tried then over him and gave him several hangers with different suits on them.
He went and tried them on, coming out each time to ask my opinion.
Then we finally found the one. It wasn't the suit itself but the person wearing the suit that made all the difference. He pulled it off effortlessly. He made it look so easy. He knew he looked good even when he kept complaining.
"First you put me in a suit. Now it's a tie. Why don't you make me walk the fucking runway?"
"Quit complaining. You look great. All the girls will definitely have their eyes on you." I teased.
"They can look all they want but I have eyes for only one girl. Who just so happens to be the love of my life."
"Oh please. I'm just lucky Zarha didn't make a move on you. You know, the Queen bitch —or ex, if you will— always gets the guy."
"I heard that." Zarha's voice came through the door and we laughed.
"As I said, I only have eyes for one girl."
No matter how many times he says it, I'll never get tired of hearing it but I can't just tell him that. I have my pride.
"Sure, you d—" He cut me off with a kiss. Just one kiss was all it took for me to shut up. Before he could go any deeper into the kiss, I pushed him away. Shooting daggers at him with my eyes.
"I think my point has been proven and you are speechless."
"You are so full of yourself." I rolled my eyes at him, smiling.
But really, when do I not smile with this boy?
"But I love you." He rasped.
"And I love you too. Now let's get some shoes to match."
He just shook his head and let his hand find mine, intertwining our fingers. Together, we walked out.
Eventually, we found all we were looking for. Shoes and all and handed it over to the cashier as she packed them up for us.
I tried to ignore the fact that most of the people in there were actually stripping my boyfriend naked with their eyes. I think he noticed as well which was nothing but a boost to his already massive ego.
Thanks girls...
As if to put the out of their misery, he pulled me against him as he paid the cashier.
Sorry girls, he's taken.
We left the store with smiles on our faces.
We were ready for prom.
JAYDEN'S P.O.V
I know I've said this many times before, but my girlfriend is truly beautiful and I can really never get enough of her.
When we were looking for a suit (which was awful by the way because I don't do formal wear) she looked honestly confused and it was so cute.
And when we're paying for everything, I may have pretended not to notice it but all the girls were practically eye fucking me.
Sometimes, she's so shy and others she's so sweet and the rest of the time, she's so confident.
I've watched her grow from that insecure person barely unaware of how amazing she really is to this confident, beautiful human being that I'm proud to call mine.
It brings a smile to my face every time I think of it. Everything time I think of her. All the times we've spent together and all the laughs we've shared. It makes me grateful for all the things that have led to this.
And I don't regret any of it...

It's the long awaited weekend. Our planned weekend. We're going to my beach house and like always, I'm driving.
It's a little different this time. Different because Kevin brought his car as well. Ergo, Kevin, Anne and Zarha ride in one while (obviously) Alisha, Alessia and Nick ride with me.
It looks like things between them both are really tense. But I had a talk with him earlier. Obviously, Alessia is like a little sister to me. I have to make sure she's in good hands.
That being said, he's a good kid and he'll make her happy.
The beach house was a six hours out of town. Meaning, it was a fairly long drive.
My sweet girlfriend just kept talking about anything that crossed her mind. I didn't mind listening.
"We could go there for holidays." She suggested we go to Nigeria for holiday sometime. Alessia smiled at the idea.
From what I know, she's spent three whole years there so she knows it better than any of us do.
"Yeah. We could go to Lagos or Ibadan or even Abuja." She squealed like she couldn't wait to go back there.
I didn't miss the smile on Nick's face while he watched her talk about culture and the people there. It never faltered.
The Kid's whipped and he doesn't even know it yet...
The Brown sisters do that to a guy. I'm speaking from experience here. They charm him with their curves and amazing personalities and they don't even know it and then, they fall. Hard. I just hope —for his sake mostly because if he hurts my little sister in anyway, I'll break his legs—, he makes the best of it.
I contemplated turning in the stereo but the last time I did that, I ended up getting groped my girlfriend.
As much as I would love that —or even something more, I doubt these two kids would enjoy the show.
I ended up turning it up anyway and it turns out Alisha and Alessia have more in common than I thought. You know, all the girls I've met have taken liking to all the members of One Direction.
So when their song came on, the lyrics said "we knew every line" and they literally knew every line, every high note. Everything.
Nick and I just watched with smiles on our faces. The smiles put there because of them and they don't even know it. Well, Alisha might know but Alessia has no idea.
"Open the sunroof." Nick said.
"Why?"
"Just do it." he deadpanned, rolling his eyes.
"What the heck? Give the kid what he wants." My beautiful girlfriend cut in.
Rolling my eyes, I did.
The kid must be crazy because he stood up on the seat and kept himself up there.
I could see why, though because a few minutes later Alessia joined him up there.
Whatever they did up there, I do not know but I'm sure it was good for both of them, judging by the smiles on their faces.
When they came back down, they were grinning like loons. And the cute blush on my baby sisters face was not to be missed.
These two are gonna be just fine...
Sighing in content, I took Alisha's hand in mine and joined them. She looked up at me and smiled. A smile I'll never get tired of.
I love it when she smiles but I love it even more when I'm the reason. She leaned in and pressed a lingering kiss on my cheek.
This time, she made me smile.
Alessia and Nick gave each other knowing looks and mischievous smirks.
That same smile plastered on my face, I drove on.
A/N:
What's going on with Alessia and Nick? I don't know. I really don't.
Beach house!
Let's go!
What do you think Jayden told Nick? I think it's cute that he sees Alessia as his baby sister.
Lemme know what you guys think about the dresses... I would love to know.
