ALISHA'S P.O.V.

Last week when Ms Gayle called Zarha and I into her office, seemed like just yesterday because the first round of the competition is just a few steps away. I thought to myself as I stared out the window of the bus the school provided for us.

The other schools buses were there as well, as well as the buses of the host school.
I woke up this morning feeling a lot less than excited. I wanted to throw up, or already fake sick and cancel.

It wasn't like I needed the scholarship but it would be nice to at least say that I got one. Hence, I had spent the last one week studying. Working my brains off it's butt(if brains had butts) and doing my final preparation for the competition.

"You ready?" Zarha asked, snapping me out of my haze with a small smile. Her blonde hair in perfect place as usual. She looked gorgeous in her white shirt dress and platform sneakers.

How could she be smiling right now? I'm at the edge of loosing my nuts.

"As I'll ever be." I responded instead.
"Good. 'Cause I know you'll do great." she mused and I looked at her like she grew a seventh head.

"How can you be so calm about this? This is a big deal. Huge deal, Zarha. Really huge." I ranted and she laughed.

"Come on. Let's go." she said, pushing me out of the bus.

ZARHA'S P.O.V.

Alisha had been looking out the window for as long as the trip began. I could understand, she was nervous.

But she looked so beautiful. It's hard to believe our history before we became friends. To be honest with you, even then I was jealous of her beauty and body. It was just that she didn't realize just how beautiful she was on the inside and out. That was her weak point. That was what made it easy for me to make her life hell.

She's one of the most amazing people I've met. She's kind, gives great advice, loves without condition and looks out for the ones she loves.

She wore a red T shirt and black faded jeans with some black Nike converse that she loves wearing because she says they're comfortable. I made my way to her to calm her down as much as possible, while trying to calm my own nerves.

We left the bus and made out way to the auditorium of the host school. Keeping in mind that Kaitlyn, Alessia, Jayden and Anne were coming over to show support. They mentioned it a few days back but Alisha didn't hear because her nose was in a book.

This shit may be getting to her more than I think...

Knowing that whatever the outcome of this, they would both come out smiling.

Not long after, the competition began after sitting through an hour of the seminar telling us how the scholarship is a huge opportunity and how we could always change our course of choice. Frankly, I didn't want go into psychology. I just wanted to do something that would make me happy, which I didn't know what it was yet.

Alisha on the other hand, has a knack for it. She just loves it and I can already tell that with her passion and dedication, she would be one of the best.

The competition went on and on. Question after question. The end results of the first round was what we were awaiting. Alisha was all the way across the hall but I could see that she was on edge. She was sweating and her fingers were trembling. It took me a minute to find that mine were doing the exact same thing.

The pressure of things like this usually got to me like this. I was usually calm and collected but now, (not like I wanted the course anyway) but it was still a huge deal.

From what we were told, the scores would be totalled and since there were only six competitors,at the end of every round, two would be eliminated. Since today was the first round, after this only four will remain.

The average height, skinny, middle aged woman came up on the stage to announce the results, but not before a brief consolation speech.

Get on with it already... If we're losing, we don't need your petty speech to make us feel even more freaking worse!

Her voice came through the speakers as she spoke.

"...You have all done wonderfully well but sadly, not everyone can remain. So, without further ado, will the following students please make their way to the stage..." she spoke. I looked at Alisha and she looked constipated.

"...Ethan Summers, Dean Miller, Zarha Alonso and Alisha Brown." Those whose names were called, Alisha and I included, made our way to the stage.

"Congratulations four of you, you have made it past the first round. The next round of the competition will take place in the next two weeks. The other two students have been eliminated from this competition. You have made it this far so once again, Congratulations." she said and the audience eliminated the silence that once filled the hall with their applause.

ALISHA'S P.O.V.

"...and Alisha Brown." When my name was called, it was like a heavy weight had been lifted from me. The competitions first round wasn't tough but we could never be too sure. Right?

Zarha must kept smiling at me from her seat all the way at the other side of the hall. When the speech was over, we walked to the stage.

To my surprise, when we were on the stage, I spotted Jayden, Alessia, my mom and Anne in the crowd all cheering for us. I was so happy. It was like my heart was about go explode with joy.

Jayden was blowing kisses at me and winking, so much pride in his eyes. I couldn't help the smile that tugged at my lips.

What would I do without this boy?...

Eventually, we were dismissed and Jayden was driving us home. I sat in the front seat with him and Alessia, Zarha and Anne sat at the back. My mom went on her own. Something about 'giving us some alone time'.

"You guys were amazing. Both of you. I'm so proud of you guys." Alessia mused while we smiled.

"This calls for a celebration. School's over in about... fifteen minutes. Who wants to go out for ice cream? On me. " Jayden suggested and we all agreed.

Twenty minutes later, we were at the ice cream parlour and I'm very sure Jayden has started to rethink his words as we bought more ice cream than we could really finish.

"How can you eat that shit? It's disgusting." I cringed at Zarha as she was scarfing down her second tub of banana ice cream.

"Seconded." Alessia and Anne said while they finished their third helping of rocky road and cotton candy ice cream.

"Kiss my flat ass." Zarha joked as she shot daggers at us with her eyes.

"Right after you kiss my fat ass." I mused as we all laughed.

"I'll kiss your ass." Jayden suggested and they all burst out laughing while I playfully swatted his arm. He wrapped me in his arms and placed a quick kiss on my temple.

After our ice cream fiasco, we were all tired and went out separate ways and by separate ways I mean Jayden dropped Zarha and Anne off and refused to leave my side. Ergo, we're on my bed. Together. Me in his arms and his jaw on my head, sniffing and kissing my hair.

"What's can't you wait for to happen when we grow up?" Jayden asked and I smiled.

"Well, I'd say I want to have kids. Lots of kids." I squealed.

"How many?" he guffawed.

"Hmm, maybe six." I replied. Having kids was something I really looked forward to. Sometimes, I liked to imagine three tiny green eyed versions of Jayden and blue eyed versions of me running around our future house.

"Six huh? I think we can make that happen." he teased and I gasped.

"Jayden Nicholas West. Did you just propose that we go through the process of making babies?" I teased and he chuckled.

"But of course, mademoiselle Alisha." he said in the worst French accent I have ever heard in my sixteen -soon to be seventeen- years of life.

"Not right now though. Your mom would kill me." he joked and I laughed.

"Yeah, she would."

"To be serious though, I totally see you as the mother of my future children." he said and I sighed, content.

Ten minutes later, we were sitting on opposite sides of my bed with cans of soda and some chicken sandwiches in our midst.

"So what are you going to do after we graduate?" when I asked that, he looked deep in thought, then his face fell.

"I'm not going to college." he deadpanned.
"After high school, I'm going to take over the business and everything. So I'm gonna learn. I'm going to be traveling a lot, though. A week after we graduate. I'll have to meet old and new investors. I won't be around that often. Honestly, I'm actually looking forward to it. It'll gimme a chance to see the World, you know? " he shrugged, taking another bite of his sandwich as if he didn't just slap me in the face with his words.

He must have noticed the change on my face because his changed too.

"What's wrong?" he asked and I shook my head 'no' with a sad smile.

"No. There's nothing wrong, Jayden. It's nice. You should do what makes you happy and I'm okay with it." I shrug nonchalantly but what I really mean is, stay and don't even think of leaving me. Obviously, I can't tell him that and since this is only in his best interest to be the best he can be, I would never stop him from going.

"Come here." he smiled with his arms wide open, gesturing for me to come to him and I did. He welcomed me in his arms and let out a sigh after kissing my forehead and resting his chin on my head.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I don't want to be away from you either, but this is something I have to do. You know I love you and I'll come right back to you, my home." he breathed. Tears tears and more tears flowed down my cheeks.

What did I ever do to deserve you?...

"I know, Jayden. And I wouldn't ever stop you from doing something you want to. This is something you have to do. I was just wondering what it would mean for us. We wouldn't see each other as often and maybe it wouldn't work-" my rant cut short when Jayden made me look at him, his deep blue eyes focused on me.

"Don't even think about it. You're it for me. I don't even want to think about it. You shouldn't think about it either because I love you and that's all that really matters, okay? " he scolded and I smiled, really grateful to have him in my life.

We would work, no matter what life throws at us...

"Okay." I breathed as he pulled me in for a longing kiss.

JAYDEN'S P.O.V.

Leaving here after graduation really does break my heart but this is something I have to do. I would have loved more than any thing in this World to bring Alisha with me but I can't be selfish.

She's working her ass off for this scholarship and I won't let her throw it away just to be with me. But I meant what I said. No matter where I go, I would always come back to her because a person always loves their home. Alisha is my home.

Sadly, the fun days were over and we had to get back to messing with Susan. Anne had already told me that Todd was coming over the next week. Meaning, we would have to speed things up a bit more and frankly, I'm not complaining. The sooner this whole psycho Suzy mess is fucking over with, the better it is for me.

So let's get this over with...

ANNE'S P.O.V.

It's funny how life turns out.

One minute, you have your cousin whom you love so much and then the next, you're stealing her phone to text her boyfriend to come over so said cousin can learn her lesson the next.

With one last mental smirk of approval, I called Jayden and told him everything. If I didn't know how this was going to end, I would have said that Alisha was just taking revenge in Susan but that's just it. It isn't that.

From what she knows, Susan and Todd are in love. Which they are. It's said that if you love two people, go for the second because if you proved the first as much as you thought you did, you would have never fallen for the second.

That's Susan's case. No matter how hard she tries to deny it, she really did feel something for Jayden but they made the mistake of interpreting it as something it wasn't.

Alisha and Zarha did really well in the competition today and I was so proud of the people I call my friends.

Friends? The hell?

They've become more than friends to me at this point. They're like sisters. The total package. Annoying bickering and all, I just don't know what I would do without them. I was pretty sure we would rock it at prom. It's obvious that either one of them is going to win that thing. They should enjoy it. They actually have the opportunity to go to college. Sadly, that's a dream of mine that would never be fulfilled.

Speaking of Prom, I haven't even told Kevin about it and it's just around the corner. Hence, I picked up my phone and failed his number.

He answered on the first ring, like he always does.

"Hey babe." his voice came from the speaker.

"Hey. I need to talk to you." I rasped

"Sure. What's up?"

"Welllll, prom is coming up and the rest of the gang is going so I figured, why not? So will you come?" I asked.

"Do you even need to ask me? You know I would do anything for you. Even if it means dressing up in fancy suits and excessive amounts of hair gel." he laughed and I did too.

"Glad to know. We'll talk later, okay? Love you. Bye." with that, I hung up the phone.

Let's go to prom!

A/N:

LMAO... I agree.

Let's go to prom you guys.
And the competition had begun... I'm so happy that Alisha and Zarha won't let the pressure get to them... Friendship is greater than all that.

My best wishes are with them.
My best wishes are also with Jayden. He's going to start a new phase of his life. One he wasn't ready to take on before.

I just hope and pray that it all goes well with him and the rest.
