Chapter-9
Ira's POV
“Gosh, this suitcase is so heavy!” I thought to myself as I carried it downstairs with me. It's been 2 days since I went shopping with Mom, and honestly, it was fun.
These last couple of days I've just been spending more time with my family and I finished packing. I enjoyed it a lot. Today, I'm going to fly away to Santa Cruz with Stella! Wow, that sounds- never mind.
"My daughter looks so grown up!" my mom said as she looked at me coming down.
"Your clothes make you look older too!" she said.
"Really?" I asked, looking at my outfit. It's just a crop top with mom jeans.
"Those jeans remind me of when I used to wear them, I was older then you," she said.
"Ok?" I said, not interested in the conversation anymore.
"Stella will be here soon, so Ray, are you gonna drop us off at the airport?" I asked Ray.
"Yep," he said, staring at his phone.
"Alright," I said as I went to the table to have some breakfast.
"Ira, so, you're going," Dad said suddenly.
"Yeah, I guess," I said simply while he just sighed. Then, he said something I never thought he would.
"Stay away from boys," he said calmly but with a slightly threatening tone.
"Okay," I said, clearly not understanding his behavior.
"They are not what they seem, alright? And if anyone ever does anything to you that you don't like, don't hesitate to call me or your mom, or even Ray. Okay?" he said.
"Of course," I said with a reassuring smile.
"You've grown so much," he said in a low voice. He is the type of dad that loves you a lot, but doesn't know how to express it.
"Ira! It's time to go now, Stella is already outside!" Ray suddenly yelled from the door.
"You should go," Dad said, standing up.
"Yeah," I said as I got up. He gave me a hug and kissed me on my cheeks before taking my luggage and going outside to put it in the car.
In the meantime, I bid my goodbye to my mom as she hugged me and cried her eyes out.
Right now, I'm in the car chatting with Stella and Ray. Stella and I are telling Ray about everything we're gonna do today once we reach Santa Cruz. I know we'll get there by the evening, as the flight is connected but we still have some plans before school starts after 2 days.
"Wow, you guys have planned it all! We've reached the airport too," Ray said as he parked the car.
Stella and I took our bags and Stella said she would wait for me in the boarding line, while Ray and I talked for a bit. I just nodded and waved at her, but before I could even turn around, Ray suddenly pulled me in and hugged me really tight.
"Oh my god, are you alright? Am I dreaming or are you really gonna miss me this much?" I said sarcastically.
"Oh, shut up panda," Ray said, still not pulling away while I patted his back a bit.
"I'll miss giving you a ride to places," he said, finally pulling away.
"Aww." I said.
"You know I still love you even though you're so ugly," he said with a smirk.
"You're such a douchebag!" I said as I hit him.
"Ow, ow! Ira! We're in public!" Ray said as he tried to step away from me.
"Aww, you guys are such a cute couple!" an old lady said as she passed by.
"Shut up you old hag," Ray and I both say in sync. We both realized what we said when the lady looked at us with shocked eyes.
"Oh- uh, um, sorry ma'am but we're siblings," I said, respectfully this time.
"Yeah," Ray joined me.
The old lady just glared at us and walked away, leaving us embarrassed.
"I think I'll just go now," I said as I grabbed my bag.
"Yeah, you should," Ray said as he looked at me. In a second, we both burst into laughter.
"Ok, I'll go now," I said as I held my stomach and started to walk to Stella, waving to Ray with my other hand.
"Have fun Ira! And call me on the weekends!" Ray said, waving back.
"Okay!" I said as I disappeared into the crowd, leaving Ray to think to himself.
"Why are you late?" Stella asked me as I stood beside her in the line.
"Don't ask," I said, tired after running so fast.

We’ve just arrived in Denver and are now waiting for our next flight to Santa Cruz. Stella is going to the restroom, while I'm sitting here and listening to music.
"Hey Ira, do you want to get something to eat? I'm going to Starbucks," Stella said as she came back.
"Yeah, I'll get a frappe. Wait, I'll take my things and come with you," I said as I stood up, grabbing my bag.
"Alright," Stella said.
"Hello, welcome to Starbucks! What would you like to order?" the lady at the counter asked us.
"I'll take a mocha frappuccino, please. Name - Ira," I said.
"I'll take a vanilla bean frappuccino. My name is Stella," said Stella.
"Ok, please come and take your drinks when I call your name," the lady said with a smile.
"Thank you," Stella and I both said respectfully and took a seat at a nearby table.

Ade's POV
"What would you like?" Courtney asked me after placing her order. We are at the airport and are hungry, so now we're here at the airport Starbucks.
"I'll have a caramel frappuccino," I told her while looking at my phone. I was looking at the Ira girl's Wattpad account. Even her bio is filled with quotes from our book. I don't know what to say, except that I want to meet her. She is the first person who actually understood my feelings when I talked with Aria for the last time. Everyone else hates me, well not me, but my character for saying that.
"I'm gonna go to the restroom and I don’t know where Chase is, so can you please take our orders?" Courtney asked me, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Okay," I said simply.
I was scrolling through my phone when I heard the cashier saying my name and another name which stopped me in my tracks.
"Adrian, Courtney, Ira, and Stella," the cashier called out.
Suddenly two girls who looked my age stood up from a table and went to take their drinks. One had black hair and the other was blond. I then rushed to take mine and Courtney’s too, but I couldn't hold everything because she had ordered so much. God, I'm going to drop this and embarrass myself!
"Umm, excuse me, do you need help with your things?" I suddenly heard the voice of a girl behind me.
I looked back and saw the same black haired girl, standing and looking at me.
"Yeah, sure. Thanks," I said as I handed her the drinks while I took the food. We both placed it on my table.
"Thank you, um..." I said.
"Oh, my name is Ira and no problem," she said with a smile. Is she that Ira? No way, it's just someone with the same name. But the name is quite unique.
"I'm Adrian," I said, returning a smile.
"Do you by any chance go to Muart High?" she suddenly asked me. Is she a psychic or something?
"Yeah, how did you know?" I asked her with a frown.
"You have the Muart High backpack," she said, pointing to my bag.
"Ohh yeah. Hahaha," I said awkwardly. Great. I finally did embarrass myself.
"My friend and I are new admissions there. That is why I was curious," she suddenly said.
"Oh really? What year?" I asked, but before she could reply we heard an announcement saying that it was time to board the plane.
"Oh, I gotta go. I'll see you around," she said as she hurriedly got to her table, and took her things before walking away with her friend.
"I think I have a thing for girls named Ira," I thought to myself as I took my things and ran to find Chase and Courtney.
