Ira's pov

Wow… I still can't believe this. I got in. Should I wake mom and dad? No, I really don't want to argue with them. Oh, did I mention that they don't want me to move away for high school? Yeah, they don't.

My sister, Rose, has always told me to go to high school or college in Santa Cruz. I don't know why, but Stella and I checked the city out last year and it was amazing! So, we convinced our parents to send us there for high school.

My parents still don't want me to go, but they don't have a choice. Why? Because before she left, Rose wrote my parents a letter telling them to let my brother and I do what we like. That was her last wish, and I'm really thankful to her for that.

I opened my bedroom door slowly, trying not to wake anyone up, and went down the hallway to Ray's room. I twisted the door knob quietly as I went in and closed the door behind me.

"Wake up sleepy head!" I whisper-yell in his ear.

"WHO IS THIS?!?" He suddenly gets up and yells, hitting me with his hands.

"Oww! Shut up you idiot!!" I tell him as I cover his mouth.

"Ira? What are you doing here? Don't tell me you were trying to pull a prank on me again."

"No, stupid! I came here to tell you that I got accepted into Muart High!!"

"Congrats dude!" Ray said, patting me on the back and giving me a thumbs up.

"Ok, go away now."

"Fine," I say as I walk back to my room. I was very tired, so I just turned off the lights and went to bed.

~The next day

As soon as I woke up, I went downstairs to tell my parents the good news... or the bad news. I don't know what they will think of it.

"Mom, Stella and I got in! We got the email last night!!"

"WHAT?!"

"Yeah..."

"Oh, um, okay! Congrats sweetie."

"When does the school start?" My dad asks.

"Umm, I think in a week."

"Just check once again!" My mom says as she signals me to check my phone. I am 101% sure that it starts in a week, but I check once to please them.

"See, I told you, it starts in 1 week, so I have one week to pack," I say to my parents, showing them the phone screen. They don't really look that happy, but who cares? I don't.

"Fine, I'll book your flight soon," my dad says as he leaves for work.

"Tell me when you want to pack Ira. I'll take a leave on that day!" My mom says as she exits too. Ray's already at his college, so I just go back to my room and take a shower.

                       ~ Time skip ~

It's 1 o'clock now, so I go to the kitchen to make myself a sandwich for lunch. I take my food, turn on the TV, and start eating.

After finishing, I wash the dishes and go back upstairs to set up for an online guitar class I’m taking. After the class, I go back downstairs and am looking at my phone when I hear the doorbell ring.

I walk to the door and open it, immediately getting smashed into the wall by someone whom I know perfectly.

"OMG, IRA!! WE GOT IN! WE GOT IN! WE GOT IN!" Stella keeps yelling and jumping.

"Yeah Stella, I know," I say calmly as I close the door.

"Sit, I want to ask you something," I tell Stella as we go to the living room.

"What is it?" Stella asks, looking a bit nervous.

"My sister emailed me yesterday, like always, and she said that she has a friend named Darcy who lives in Santa Cruz. She'd like to give us a city tour!"

"Oh nice, I'm down for that!"

"Yeah, but your cousin wanted to do that, right?"

"Yeah, she did. I totally forgot about that! But I think she wouldn't mind, as she is still showing us around at the school."

"Ok cool! Wait, Rose just emailed me. I think we'll find out whether Darcy wants to be our guide or not."

Rose

Hey Ira,

It feels weird to chat with you on a regular day, but I have to.

Darcy said yes, so I'll give you her number. Give her a ring when you reach Santa Cruz, and introduce yourself and Stella to her. She'll know what to do next.

Ira

Hey Rosie~

Thank you! And yeah, I'll definitely do as you say.

Rose

Give her a call the day you get to the city. Bye, have fun, and be safe!

Ira's pov

"Ok, it's final now, Darcy is going to give us a city tour."

"Yeah, whatever. But how does your sister know me?!" asks Stella in a shocked voice.

"Do you really think that I'd forget to mention my best friend?" I say with a chuckle.

"Awww thanks! I love you!" says Stella, hugging me.

"Same," I say, laughing.

"Oh, it's 7 already?! Sorry Ira, but I have to go now! My mum will be mad at me if I'm home late."

"Lol, bye!! See you soon!"

"Right back at you," Stella yelled back breathlessly while running back to her house.

I browsed on my phone while waiting for my parents to get home. My brother is going to be late tonight. I was watching random videos on YouTube when I received a notification from Wattpad.

WAIT, WHAT?!?! MY FAVOURITE AUTHOR IS BACK!!! Oh my god, I'm losing my mind right now! I aggressively open Wattpad and here it is, the profile says that they are back! 

I was thinking about messaging the author before they suddenly announced that they'll be on hiatus for some time. Instead, I just thought about doing it when they're active again, but now I'm nervous to do so. I still half heartedly went to the messages and contacted the person.

The message

Hey! My name is Ira, and I'm a huge fan of your book ‘My Truth Untold’, everything is so detailed and touching that it seems like it's from a real story!

I know some people hate on Ade for what he said to Asia but I think what he did was right, in fact Ade is my favorite character. I don't even know why people could hate on you for that. I know this is too much to ask but can you please put a picture of how you imagine him? That's it, I hope you have a great day.

That was all I wanted to ask. I really want to see how Ade looks in the mind of the person who created him. Before I could do anything else, I heard the front door open as Ray came inside, locking the door behind him.

"Hey Ira! Mom and Dad called and said that they will be home late, as they have some work to complete."

"Ok, but why are you home early? Weren't you going to a party or something?"

"Oh, that. It got cancelled. The guy who hosted the party's parents called and told them that they were coming home, and to postpone the party. Everyone had to leave early, but it was still fun."

"Lol. Wait, what's for dinner then?"

"I'm ordering some pizza."

"Sweet, I love pizza!! Let's watch a movie too... I vote for Harry Potter!"

"Okay, fine..."

"Great! And don't forget to order Coke!"

"Hmm. So? What was Rose saying? She always emails you on your birthday, but has never mentioned me in her emails. Let alone calling me," Ray says, looking a bit hurt.

"Oh, Rose was happy that I got in and told me that one of her friends, Darcy, lives in Santa Cruz and she'll give us a tour of the city. Don't tell mom and dad!"

"Wait, did you say Darcy?" Ray asks me, his face serious.

"Yeah… what's wrong?" I ask, getting a little nervous.

"Do you know why Rose had to run away like that? She was involved in some dark business. No one knows except me. Not even our parents," Ray says in a dark way.

"What?" I ask as all the color from my face drains.

"Yeah, and there was someone who was with her through everything she did. Her name was Darcy"
