I lingered in the hallway, I was not sure why I was so nervous, but my mind spun with all the possible things that could happen.

Miss Nortens back was turned to me, her eyes glued to something she was writing.

I gathered my courage, and rolled my shoulders back, Rapping on the door three times. Her head spun in my direction, a smile taking over her features.

Why was she smiling?

Two girls brushed past me, eyeing me before they took off down another hallway. Compose your thoughts Drew, I told myself, just as the door flung open.

"Good evening Miss Stetson, I am so pleased that you have arrived safely back here."

Blinking I nodded in response, spit it out already!

"We are doing something different this year, as you know, Conrad is a very smart young man, and he wants only the most qualified woman by his side." What was she talking about?

Why did this concern me?

"Y yes, I guess," I paused, waiting on her next words. She grinned in response, beckoning me inside her office. I abliged, a shiver running up my spine as the door slammed shut.

" congratulations Drew, we have decided that you and Shya, the top students will go head to head in a competition, it will play live on TV, over the week of the Grand Assembly. My eyes widened in shock, was this why Shya had hated me on the bus?

"Wow, I don't know what to say," I bit out, guarding my features as to not give anything away. Miss Norton looked so pleased, but her eyes darkened in a second.

"Do not do anything to ruin this week, I am responsible for your actions, don't brake any rules, you hear me?" I nodded, chewing the inside of my cheek.

"Yes." I sauntered out, my mind exploding with everything that had happened over the past few weeks.

My life was spinning out of control, and if I didn't buckle up soon, I might just get hurt.
