Olivia's Diary Entry: Nine

"All she ever saw,
Were battered dreams
And shattered hopes,
And she had convinced herself,
Her future was no more"

Unseeing.

My eyes blinded to a future,
I could not see,
As opportunities pass me by.

I've come to realize how much I truly deny myself,
As hate and despair,
As trauma keeps me firmly in a past,
I so desperately want to escape.

Yet I remain firmly in that past,
As my life passes me by,
And I think that is yet another tragedy,
Another piece of myself I allow them to take away from me.

And yet there you stood,
An Inspiration for me,
Who perhaps needed that inspiration the most.

You stood proud,
A graduate of law.

Even when mom meant the most too you,
You moved forward,
And I cannot deny,
That in that moment I was glad to have survived.

To see you progress a step closer to your dreams,
You make me want to strive for my own,
Even when I no longer have any aspirations of my own.

Yet as I take my next steps forward,
I wish to see the same for myself,
I wish to stand on the podium of our high school,
And say I thrived even as I struggled through life,
I wish to say "I have thrived"

I thought this Entry was a nice change, while still emotionally heavy it shows a positive side to Olivia because our girl is a fighter!
